There are plenty of ESOPs. They compete with other businesses in the market. There’s nothing socialist about them. It’s a mode of business that works for some small companies. They still have structure and internal organization with a board or president, and they’re still motivated to be profitable by providing their good or service at a competitive rate to the consumer. There have been more mass shootings in 2021 so far than there have been days.

A mass shooting is defined by the Gun Violence Archive as a shooting where four or more people have been shot.

Four or more people have been shot, not necessarily killed. Let’s assume an average of 4 deaths, just to be generous. As of now, there have been 284 days in 2021, so 1,136 deaths attributed to mass shootings. 

According to the CDC, there are around 60,000 to 2.5 million defensive gun uses every year. In other words, there have been 52-2,200 time as many lives saved by guns, as lives lost to mass shooting. 52 at a minimum, 2,000 at the upper end. 2,000.

So your claim that more people are dying from guns than guns are saving is laughably false

IP Law is one of the most complicated and controversial, which is why the patents in pharmaceuticals are so widely sought after by Big Pharma. Insulin is an excellent example of this because unlike most drugs, insulin is a large molecule or living (unlike a drug like Advil, which is small molecule). It is difficult and cost-prohibitive to develop a generic version. In the drug industry, drug makers can submit research to the FDA for other medications if they can prove that the two drugs are chemically the same. But the FDA does not allow you to use the same research for biologic insulin products. That means bringing generic insulin to market becomes a costly endeavor, leaving only brand-name drugs available. In short, this is important because it means the molecular structure gets patented instead of the exact components, therefore preventing a lot of competitors from competing, i.e. being very anti-capitalist.

It is BS, but the market has little choice considering people need insulin to live and the FDA realistically prevents anyone new from entering the market, even though insulin itself is not that expensive to manufacture (as far as drugs go).
