Assorted snaps from a 3am photoshoot with Mecha Mecha. We jumped a fence in Yeronga early in the morning, brought a ladder and everything, so we could snap some pretty dawn shots in front of an old abandoned animal testing facility. Probably wouldn’t have agreed to shooting there had Amanda (vegan) and myself (vegetarian) known beforehand about the history animal abuse that took place behind our backs... but hey, it’s a great photo right?

After the big move from Lismore town to Brisbane City, I joined songwriter Timothy Poitras on his journey to find a new band. We scoured social media sites, friend circles and all our contacts, and soon met double bassist Stuart Clifford. The resulting sound was something like this...
Filmed by Timothy in a park in Geebung.
The following is an extract video of Mecha Mecha's performance at the Brolga Theatre in Maryborough, run in partnership with Jump Start Foundation as a fundraiser to support the victims of Cyclone Pam on Tanna Island, Vanuatu. Shot in April 2015, the performance was the finale of their Cosmic Comfort tour, and all funds raised on the day were donated to Isangel School, Tanna Island. Some footage from other on-tour gigs the are included in the clip. Film credits: David Pierson Film; Kalem Horn Photo; Amanda Terry; Christina Langham
Today I'll be hanging out at a small house concert, the location of which none of us yet know. By emailing The Muso Next Door at [email protected] and purchasing a ticket, they'll send you the address details on the day of the gig.Tickets are $10. So cool.
Ben Wilson's EP Launch gig at Dragon Fly Cafe, Lismore was a roaring success. This beautiful place was dimly lit, our friends scattered around the audience of mismatched chairs, couches, tables and stools, the whole room buzzing. Kate Stroud (pictured top, third/left) and her band supported us with some lovely folk tunes, and set the vibe for the night. Once Ben and I hit the stage, our second gig as a duo due to our bass players prior engagements, the whole room hushed and listened on intently. It was pure magic.

On May 10th, four years of hard work finally paid off at my graduation. Didn't I look smashing? It felt incredible to walk across that stage, tilting my cap at the Vice Chancellor while my family and friends erupted in a cataclysm of whoops and shouts.

Along with the awesome video, James Peters took some great images of us at The Old Museum Building in Brisbane.

Show #3: Supporting The Perch Creek Family Jug Band, Old Museum Building, Brisbane
This gig was a little strange, as the energy was completely different to our Star Court performance. There were tables and chairs, the venue was lit by candlelight and there was barely any room for the obligatory dance floor that was to ensue later in the evening. We played well but with a weird stage dynamic that we weren't used to. Take it all in the learning curve, I still had fun.
Supporting these guys was amazing, they blow me away with their talent!

Show #2: Supporting The Perch Creek Family Jug Band, Star Court Theatre, Lismore
I think I can proudly say that this was the best show The Button Collective had ever played. We were excited, fired up and chuffed to be supporting one of our favourite bands, so we played our hearts out! I was fairly sad to have snapped one of my 85A Vic Firth drum sticks, but the energy we had on stage was incredible! Even Ben broke a banjo string! These beautiful snaps are a relic of the night, which was a sold out event!
It's moments like these when I truly love what I do for a living!

Show #1: Band Rotunda, Lismore Rose Garden
I joined the rest of the boys in Lismore for my first show of The Button Collective album launch tour, playing at our usual stop in the band rotunda at the Rose Garden. It was a beautiful night, with more than enough of our friends coming along to support us and hear some new songs.
We teamed up with Ben Wilson & The Job Seekers, our first time playing together in over 2 months, and took turns playing a few songs as each line-up. There's something magical about standing up on stage with some of your closest friends, sharing a beer and jamming out some tunes by candlelight for a group of your collective friends. These photos truly capture the magic of the night!

Playing at The Little Guy in Glebe tonight with The Button Collective. Come grab a few broths with the boys and I, stomp your feet and get rowdy with us while we play you some jigs and reels from underneath the staircase. Who knows, you might even go home with an album, if you're lucky ;)

Last month's session at The Coramba Hotel was incredibly fun, many of the locals were excited that we finally had the CDs on sale. Come and check us out today (6th April) from 3pm - 7pm in the beer garden. It's kid and dog friendly, bring a soccer ball and some friends, grab a copy of the album for $15, and have a beer or two with The Button Collective!

Honestly cannot wait to play this venue - it's beautiful inside and out! The Button Collective are supporting The Perch Creek Family Jug Band again tonight at Brisbane's Old Museum Building, tickets will be sold at the door as well, though we cannot guarantee how long they'll last so be quick! This will be my second stop on our album launch tour!

Today I am blessed to be performing at the beautiful Starcourt Theatre in Lismore supporting The Perch Creek Family Jug Band. The Button Collective will kick off the evening at 7:30pm, tickets will be sold at the door but stocks are running out fast! I'm so excited to be gracing the stage with such talented performers :)
