As someone who works at a venue it is especially heartbreaking to hear about the recent attack in Paris. My typical evening is spent working at a show, so it goes without saying that I’ve grown close to many people who also work in the music industry, and that as a result a great many of the humans I love and care for most for in this world exist in that world, too. Thankfully no one I know has been hurt, but my heart breaks to think just what if. What if it wasn’t a venue in France that was struck, but one here in Los Angeles? Oddly enough it WAS an LA-based band, @eodmofficial that was playing- which is an eery feeling because they recently we’re at my venue @observatoryoc for Beach Goth Fest. And then there is the crowd that came- at least 100 people killed. At least 100 individuals that looked to concerts as their escape or happy place, a source of therapy even as I too have grown to feel about music- 100 people that had a whole life before them, and 100 people that had a whole life a head of them, but never got to see it through because they were unjustly killed. It's mushy I know but because you never know what will happen just know if you're in my life, no matter how big or small a part of it it is, if I've known you all my life, or even if I've just met you! That I genuinely love each and every one of you.
