4. How does your writing happen? Do you visualize scenes playing out in your head, or do they come out in words as you type?
kind of both, i guess? but mostly, see my answer to #2 in the previous ask.
7. To you, what is the most important part of writing a romantic relationship?
realism. acknowledging that two people in a long-term relationship are going to have fights, days when they don’t like each other very much, actual problems to overcome. acknowledging that sometimes the relationship will be boring, that for every wild night of passion there’s gonna be a week of washing dishes, running errands, dealing with work and/or school, taking care of the kids if they exist. acknowledging that sometimes sex is awkward or embarrassing or unfulfilling even when it’s with the person you want to spend your life with. acknowledging the importance of friends, family, and other characters, because it’s not healthy to have your life revolve just around your partner. acknowledging that real people’s lives and relationships are messy, complicated, and sometimes shitty.
if you include that when you’re writing a romantic relationship, then you’ve got me on board.
8. What are three things you’re proudest of when it comes to your writing? Dialogue, descriptions, humour, romantic fluff, kisses, action, pacing, worldbuilding, setting, anything! Even small things like sentence structures and the way your characters banter counts!
i’m particularly proud of my dialogue writing; i think i’m good at capturing characters’ unique voices. i’m also proud of how i handle things like tone and pacing!
