A Dream Reunion
Katie Holmes is set to star in and direct 'Happy Hours,' a film trilogy co-starring Joshua Jackson that will reunite the Dawson's Creek star
I can't wait to see this trilogy. So excited. Just thinking that after not speaking to each other for several years after DC because of her marriage, and then reconnecting as friends, and now making a romantic dramedy together.
The premise sounds semi-autobiographical.
I so can't wait.
Where's the third corner of triangle, hulu?
Has hulu left Luke's huuuuge fanbase without fav moments? How heartless hulu turns out to be… But wait, will these fans at least be happy when Lizzie reveals that her favorite scenes with June are the ones with Luke? Yes! That's right, it will be!!
But…. wait…. Oops. Three of Lizzi's favorite moments are associated of course with Serena Capulet, one with Hannah. And #1 is a kiss with Nick Blaine!! (I'm disgusted that she already knew that June would betray and kill Nick… And she wanted osblain's fans to film it…)
I'm even a little embarrassed that Luke was forgotten not only by hulu, but also by Lizzie… But why am I lying?? I don't care about Luke. I just want to remind us all once again that THIS WAS GASLIGHTING!!!
You're blind if you think that our show is about love too!!! It's a coincidence that Max and Lizzie have the same favorite scenes with their characters' stunningly filmed kiss!!
You are teenage who are dazzled by Max Minghella's looks!! Nick means so little to the show that we'll kill him even without closure the character's arch, and no one will notice!! And let him also say that those four commanders (are the only survivors in all of Boston after 37 others were just killed) are the "winners"? Cool, right? And this single phrase will finally show his true Gilead face!!
Of course, it was convenient for you to forget what we didn't show you! But what can we take of you, you're just women, and we have a sharp show about feminism here, you're stupid to understand that.
IT's still there, right on THT's official accounts!! They WERE SELLING us a show that HAD LOVE IN IT! And at the same time, they kept saying that we were jerks. THEY CAME UP WITH THIS SLOPPY PLOT TWIST with June killed Nick. And at the same time, they were making posts with the Nick "see you later" and "do you know what it's like to be in love with you?" They were REPEATING that the show was about the power of women, but gaslighted thousands of their women viewers over and over again…
I wish all of us to heal as soon as possible!!! BUT DON'T FORGET THAT THE SHOW DID TO US!! It's not about Nick's death, but about how meanly, filthily and cruelly they sent it in an envelope with a heart next to the recipient's name… Your name and mine…
Here is a link to tumblr-post with 7-hours-video owned entirely by Nick and June (s1-5) . Trademarkblue has done an incredible job putting everything together!! I was sure that I would never be able to watch the show again… But then I thought that I would not let s6 take away my favorite moments… I've already watched the entire first season... and I will always consider that the s1-2 is the best thing that could be on the screen! I won't give it away)))

He chose a violent and dishonest life vs He led a violent and dishonest life.
Oh my god, I just noticed something else. Look — in the script, Bruce Miller wrote “He chose a violent and dishonest life”, but Elizabeth Moss, who directed this episode and spoke that line, changed the fucking word “chose” to “led.” So we ended up with “He led a violent and dishonest life.” And yeah, at first it might seem like a small change — just one word — but f, it’s actually huge.
Bruce wrote “he chose a violent and dishonest life” — and that matters, because it shows an act of choice, that choice could come from desperation. Nick came to that decision when everything fell apart: June left him, his pregnant wife was still in Gilead. He saw no other way and gave up. That’s a tragedy.
But when Moss changes it to “he led a violent and dishonest life,” it sounds like a statement of fact. As if that’s just who he was. Like it’s a fact that he did awful things.
Chose means he gave up and decided to live among monsters.
Led means he was a monster himself
So according to the script, June didn’t think he was a monster — more like he gave up and stayed among them. He didn’t fight back, didn’t look for a way out.
(And that’s what she had expected from him — which is why she didn’t save him on the plane. That was the moment of choice — and that’s why they showed him hesitating for so long, like he himself was torn)
Then with the word “chose”, Serena’s words make so much more sense.
“If he ever had a choice, he would’ve chosen you.”
It’s about choice again. That he wouldn’t have chosen Gilead if June hadn’t left him.
Elizabeth Moss suddenly decided to fucking hate Nick, and now she’s twisting things. We saw how she cut out the part where June says she sacrificed the man she loved.
And now this. She replaced a word that changes the entire moral weight of the line.
Now, instead of being someone who chose a path (however painful that is), Nick is just declared to have led a violent and dishonest life. June said it like she was truly disappointed in Nick, like she finally saw who he was. Just stated, as if it’s fact, she believes he’s a bad man. As if there’s no nuance.
And I swear, this makes everything even worse — because the ending was already awful, but Elizabeth Moss managed to make it even worse.
The fans keep getting beaten and hit over the head.
What the FUCK ?????????? Why the hell did they cut the line confirming that she loved Nick? That all those flashbacks while she stared at the fire were supposed to be about him? It was supposed to have way more emotional focus. But instead, she barely remembered him and moved on. And when she said the line about sacrifices, they showed fucking Lawrence — as if the sacrifice line was about him that she was hurt he had to make sacrifices — when in fact the script clearly meant that June sacrificed Nick, someone she loved, for the greater good.
Why the fuck did they cut that?? I’m so angry right now.
the script had a moment to show that she loved him, they robbed us of even that.
Seriously, what the hell did we ever do to them to deserve this? Loved the show too much?
Y’ALL. lizzie picked nick over luke
Season 4 PR….. yep. EM, we have tones of receipts of you pushing the Nick and June storyline before you ended up becoming a Serena stan all of a sudden in S5/6… so what, he wasn’t a coward back then? We invented this romance ourselves?
I don't get what happened. EM goes from THIS to calling Nick a coward. She does understand that Nick was at the mercy of the writers' pen, doesn't she? She, herself, probably had a say in how Nick and June ended up.
Were her feelings toward Osblaine genuine then or are they genuine now?
I'm tired of receiving these bot PMs on Fanfiction.net. It started out as one a couple of months ago, but now I've had two in two days. Is it getting out of hand for anyone else ?
Why Paris and not Hawaii?
I think it's interesting that they made Paris Osblaine's would-be run-away place. Why not just mention Hawaii in S6? I don't believe that it was done purposely, but it feels like the change in places echoes the change in their story. S6 Nick and June are not the same Nick and June who daydreamed about making a life together in Hawaii.
But I will not give the writers enough credit by assuming they had that type of thinking process. They probably just forgot about Hawaii like they forgot who Nick was for 5 seasons or just plain did not care.
LOVE THIS. THT writers need to watch all these videos to get how big of a mistake they have made.
I’m sure I’ve already said this, but I just can’t not say it again.
I keep seeing this take: “Yes, Nick loved June, but he was a villain (because he was a Commander in Gilead, and all Commanders are Nazis).”
the writers shoved this idea down our throats using Luke as their insightful narrator (lol)
“All he cared about was you, and that’s why you think he’s some kind of hero?”
And some people ate it up. I keep seeing posts with that exact message:
“He loved June, but he was evil.”
And I NEED to unpack this because WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT.
If someone is chasing power, if they enjoy control, being above others like Nazis do, if they lack empathy then they are literally incapable of selfless, sacrificial love. Like Nick loved June.
Evil doesn’t love like that. Evil tries to own and control.
Especially when we’re talking about a system where every Commander has patriarchal garbage in their heads, how could Nick give June so much freedom? So much choice? So much emotional support even when he himself was hurting? He’s not “like them” not even close. If he were truly a “Nazi,” his ego would’ve snapped in half multiple times in this story.
If a man is a Nazi meaning he believes in oppression, hierarchy, control, and dominance, then he is incapable of truly loving. Because real love isn’t about power, or control, or domination. Real love is about seeing the other person, accepting them, giving them freedom of choice, even when that choice isn’t you.
Nazi “love” isn’t love. It’s possession. It’s the need to keep someone beneath you. Men like that only “love” when their partner submits. The moment a woman shows independence, says no, or leaves they turn on her. She becomes the enemy.
But Nick didn’t just tolerate June’s freedom, he supported it. He encouraged it. He didn’t use their child to manipulate her, didn’t threaten her, didn’t stalk her. He didn’t retaliate when she rejected him. He endured the pain, stayed silent, waited without asking for anything in return.
(On top of that, Nick was repeatedly shown being empathetic towards others but let’s not even get into all that right now, because the point here is: you can’t love like that and still be a villain)
This whole narrative they’re trying to sell us? Absolute nonsense. A villain doesn’t pick and choose when to have a soul.
You can’t live a double life with two different moral codes, two different sets of emotional instincts. That’s not how human psychology works.
The writers forgot their own show and think we did too.
And, yeah, it worked on some people (the ones watching the show with their ass), But Jesus Christ, we have the scenes. The episodes exist.
How laaazyyyy
I can’t deal with it
Or do the writers seriously believe you can be a Nazi and still love like that? What absolute idiots.
It’s basic psychology. Don’t write a show about people if you don’t understand how people work.
Nick is really a believer? Part 2
I can prove to you that he is NOT.
After Eden confirm to Nick that she is not going to lie, that she loves Isaac and that she only wanted to have a family with him, she asks him to forgive her.
And now you can see Nick's heart break.
Nick kneels in front of her, asking for forgiveness: for not being kinder, for not protecting her as a husband, for not realizing that she was so innocent. June warned him and he just ignored it.
After some heartbreaking performances, the tragedy happens. In a last attempt to make the young lovers repent, Eden goes back to mentioning the Bible with the most beautiful passage about love.
For Gilead, this was an act of infidelity, not love. Love can exist only within the family, between a husband and wife who never chose one another and yet must love one another’s.
During the execution, Nick staring without taking his eyes off of them.
His guilt, his penance.
He keeps looking until he can't take it anymore. He doesn't cry, he stands unwavering. He cannot take the eyes off of them, he doesn’t allow himself to hide from his grief.
His guilt, his penance.
A true believer would convince himself that he is doing the right thing, punishing the girl for her sin.
A true believer would never kneel to a sinner woman.
A true believer would never feel guilty about it.
Is this the man the show wants to prove that he was only wanting power?
This scene is so underrated...
NICK BLAINE - GOOD, KIND & BRAVE *and no one will convince me otherwise
This is an amazing tribute ❤️
Love this compilation video by the Above the Garage podcast showing all the good things Nick has done. “He reaped what he sowed” my ass
It's a great video.
The only scene I'd add is the scene between Nick and Eden before her execution. He blamed himself and wanted to save her.
june/serena interview quotes staying deranged to the very end 💖
It's DISGUSTING to say that they're the great love story of the series. Not only is it insulting to Max/Nick, even to OT/Luke. But she's also supportin forgiving an abuser and being bff's with the person. What image is that perpetuating for SA victims and their abusers? How the hell did her PR team not advise against saying this?
Just two pretty, TOXIC ASS, white women with privilege telling each other "EXACTLY," I guess.
Toxic feminism at its finest.
I'm truly baffled by all of this...
All I Wanted Was Proper Closure
How The Handmaid’s Tale’s Elisabeth Moss and Bruce Miller brought June Osborne home.
I understand that the love story/love triangle wasn't the focal point of the show. I get that Elizabeth Moss didn't want June to have to choose between “the boys.” This isn't Dawson's Creek.
I know that.
I was prepared for Nick's death way back in S2. It was always a possibility. I was okay with a tragic end, a bittersweet end to Nick and June. I was all set for Nick to go out honorably. I was all set for that type of closure.
Hell, I could even understand June staying with Luke. or have open-ended closure to the love story. Nick and June could have just gone off to fight.
There was no reason why Nick and Luke both couldn't be Mayday fighters. There didn't have to be a bad guy in the triangle.
Saying that you didn't want June to choose doesn't equate turning Nick into a villain and assassinating him in the worst way possible.
Nick in The Testaments
it’s often said that there is no mention of Nick in The Testaments, but that’s not true. he’s never mentioned by name and the details are vague, but there is enough to tell us where his loyalties lie and what his ultimate fate was.
so for informational purposes, i’ve compiled excerpts of every reference to Nick in the book. if i’m missing anything please let me know so i can add it. spoilers ahead.
