This was good casting...
Whenever someone says that Ewan Stewart "didn't look like the real Murdoch", I like to show these side-by-sides I made. I think the resemblance is pretty good, aside from Will's face being slightly longer and having more prominent cheekbones.
They share the same height of 5'9". The main difference being that Ewan is from Glasgow and Murdoch was from the Dumfries area, but people sounded different 100+ years ago than they do now anyway...
Hopefully the new BBC docudrama features Murdoch, if it does it'll be interesting to see who they cast.
I bought The Titanic OCxMurdoch fanfic book (before the author was pressured to change Murdoch into an OC too), and annotated it, then mailed it to my friends so they could also jot down their thoughts.
1000000/10 this is the best way to read anything.
Some highlights:
Published fic is such a controversial beast (I definitely own a couple that are fully in the zone of just being copyright infringement with zero effort taken to file off the serial numbers), but this is just such a funny thing to be able to physically hold, it's so important to me now.
I swear this blog is freaky sometimes. This confession is completely coincidental to my previous rant. But itās a perfect example of why I love Ewan Stewartās portrayal - to me, that face shows a painful awareness of his part in what is about to unfold whilst simultaneously consciously keeping his composure.
