My first complete track of 2020.     I used to think that my contribution to healing the world could be attained by violently grabbing it around the throat and screaming, "EVOLVE, DAMMIT!!".   When that failed, I considered the possibility: maybe I simply have nothing to bring to the table.         A much older, uglier me is hoping, now, that I can offer this tiny chunk of positivity into your day.I'm not naive enough to ask that the world become a better place as my reward.     It's sole intent is to resonate with that dark place housing our collected fear, anger and frustration,       become a collaborative part of the light, struggling for a focal point across all of humanity,         and assist, in however minuscule a way, with the journey toward the end of the tunnel         when, ultimately, it has been illuminated.If I fail, it's ok.I'm probably just gonna try again anyway.  This is "surmountable".All the love,Christopher

DEADLY OUTLAW REKKA is, easily, one of Takashi Miike's most under-rated movies... of the 40-50 out of his 100+ that I've seen, so far. IMO, the opening (this video) is about as solid an argument necessary, in support of that claim. FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND's album, Satori, makes the perfect soundtrack, as if the 1971 recording was planned to be used as an intrigal part of this 2002 Yakuza epic (which was loosely based on a chapter in the legendary, Noboru Ando's life). REKKA was my introduction to Joe Yamanaka and his amazingly powerful band. Satori is the heaviest thing I've heard from the era. I've never quite been the die-hard Black Sabbath fan that, even I, once thought I should've been. Some missing or incompatible element. I can't explain it better than that, but, I bet, Flower Travellin' Band could.

Storm Clouds

Opening for the legendary, Steve Schecter/Ghostwriter, tonight at The Omni Center in Lafayette, La. To be perfectly honest, using the word, "legendary" feels like it's coming from a kid who's approaching an oppurtunity he never thought would be possible, when, the truth is, I haven't had the luxury of being called a "kid" in quite a minute and this will actually be the 11th time I've opened for Ghostwriter. The others have been by myself, with DoomsDayDevice and with Tachyon Planes. Even more honsesty, that doesn't make a difference and I'm just as excited every time he comes through on tour. This is one of the major reasons I do what I do and I'm excited for him to hear The Rake & The Shovel.

MIND HACK : Whenever an apparent problem arises in your mind : The Solution

1. Stay present as impersonal awareness by clearing your mind of thoughts and emotions.

2. Step aside and create some non-judgmental, witnessing space (distance) from the perceived problem in order to remain open (having an objective standpoint).

3. Simply observe and dis-identify (without emotional reaction, judgment or personal bias) with the mind activities currently being played out.  Diffuse your association to what you are perceiving as a ‘problem’. It is enough to become a silent, unmoved observer to the whole thinking process.

4. Respond with Presence from the clear space of neutrality this will allow you to tap into the quantum field of pure potentiality.  A creative solution will emerge.
