I have seen an uptick in an Ingsoc that resembles more the image of BB… While Ingsoc realicide *IS* BB, he is *ALSO* the party and its will, the manifestation of the double-thinking ideology of English Socialism.

Him, as an unseen figure (not appearing as the man he configured to exact his will) being an unhealthful (malnourished/sickly, unrested) older gentleman is perfect to me. It supplements itself as a parallel to the conversation held between Winston and O’brien in the miniluv, in which the latter comments on his own age and fragility, his appearance as so delicately mortal.

Ingsoc is a cell, Ingsoc is the organism; He is a member and the party and its will.

On the counterpoint, Big Brother is an unreal concept within the confines of the 1984 universe, and the offcompass ideological counterpart himself is unable to exist in reality. Why not allow him the visage of his power? Doublethink. I do not believe the party’s power is in PHYSICAL strength (strength lays in ignorance after all), much sanitization of thought is perpetuated through FEAR. As O’brien says…
