Hi,

It's not standard across all of us but a lot of witches have a grimoire or Book of Shadows and somebody who works with specifically blood magic might decorate or consecrate theirs with blood.

Not all witches who practice blood magic have bad intentions although it can be a powerful practice!

A lot of the time it's just a record of spells etc but yes they can do in theory and probably one that's got blood on it has had additional magic done on it specifically, possibly to bind it to its owner or as a ward against an enemy if it's somebody else's blood
