sometimes you invent mind prisons for yourself for no good reason and youre like "i really like being in the mind prison" even though you dont actually like being in the mind prison

i usually get a lot of my immediate project sekai fanbase information from twutter befcause i hate myself and recently people have been having mad discourse about chu's complexes again (really big shocker) and it's like. genuinely at some point it feels genuinely ableist to continue insisting that he doesn't have dissociative tendencies. like its to a point where it feels actively malicious

#chu thoughts #and its like :hmmm: curious that you all resolutely refuse to acknowledge that a male character could be dissociative #is it perhaps because of some deeply engrained belief that dissociation and dissociative disorders are perhaps “feminine”#who knows.............#you know i do actually think th at all of the world's evils can eventually be brought back to misogyny racism or ableism #and i think this may just be all three... i think some of youguys cant believe in depictions of dissociation that aren't #stereotypically feminine...#and you know what i do think people have an easier time believing it with mafuyu because some people genuinely think asian mothers #are innately abusive. and that surely says nothing about how racist and misogynistic they are.#like her mother is abusive thats true but the reception that fans have to her is genuinely beyond the pale #so with tsukasa its like #he's a boy. which despite its prevalence in pop culture (AWESOME films that are TOTALLY NOT ABLEIST) are an underdiagnosed demographic #he doesnt fit the stereotypical model of abused child to an evil asian mother because his parents were caring and negligent simultaneously #and people just genuinely despise and disbelieve in dissociative disorders as a whole #so thats my extremely long tag rampage.......... those are my thoughts......

it’s really shocking to me that people were in denial over pmm after it came out like tsukasa doesn’t have one of the most heavy handed “i have severe memory blockages” storylines in the cast

main story is explicitly about tsukasa losing sight of who he was because he could not physically remember his past. there are flowers in the sekai that sing songs that he can’t remember in an effort to get him to recall old memories. and it doesn’t really end there either

hinamatsuri has the infamous you’re a big dumb forgetter line and that’s interesting because it means tsukasa is forgetful on a regular basis right. and it’s to the point that his sister notices which implies that it’s a genuine point of concern for her and while the exact situation they end up discussing is a misunderstanding (tsukasa Misremembers the situation as opposed to outright forgetting) it means there’s other examples that we as the audience don’t know of tsukasa forgetting very important things

dazzling stage is another big one. where he sits down with touya. and i don’t think people talk about this a lot but the flashback sequence in universe ends with saki and touya both concerned about him because he was fully unresponsive for like 5 minutes. which is awesome

it happens again in pop in my heart i think? where tsukasa’s walking around after watching the show and one of the vs try to get his attention and he just doesn’t notice it for a bit. there also the other infamous “what is this feeling in my chest” line from something. else. i can’t remember.

and then there’s the glorious phoenix. what a phenomenal event still. what the hell is he doing. that whole freak out he has in his room where he’s full on arguing with himself and then immediately locks into the Hey Guys 😀 It’s me Youer Leader thing with wondershow. it’s genius. i have to play big walk with friends now i’ll be back later
