Director's commentary: I absolutely loved this song for band of brothers it was the first thing i thought of when i was listening to it, especially with your prompts! I think the whole concept of looking back at this sweeter time is so fitting for band of brothers because it really centres around how the friendships, and all they're made of, made the horrible moments bearable. and i also think it works on a metatextual level because what is band of brothers (the show) but the memory of love's refrain for the real guys
