The idea of wearing her college clothes was borderline embarrassing now, and her cheeks flushed a little (very against her will) at the thought of it. Sure, some of her outfits were cute, but they didn't really feel like her anymore. Still, she was pretty eager to get out, too; she was envisioning a decent blend of good work outfits, comfy 'hang out' clothes, and maybe a cute sundress in there somewhere, too, if she could find one she didn't feel weird about.

"Yeah, well, I have a few more scars to work around these days." A half-mumble in response, as she was trying to hide her embarrassment, but, unfortunately, that was also embarrassing to think about- she'd always taken great pride in being nearly impossible to hit. Still, scar talk was much more grounded, thank you.

"You really think I wouldn't warn you if you were about to embarrass yourself in public?" He was already up, so she'd gladly hold the door(s) for him as they hit the streets of New Armonia. Armonia itself was still a project; it was taking a hell of a lot of work to get the power reactor back up and running, but reclaiming the capital was important to a lot of people of the United Army of Chorus. In the meantime, New Armonia was where they were at- still a pretty decent city, given the state of the planet, and still plenty to explore. It even had a functional sky-tram, unlike Armonia. That had been a hell of a battle; she'd have to share one of these days.

"I'd at least say something sarcastic first. You're good at sub-text; I'm sure you'd pick up on it." She's ribbing him, but, you know, that's kinda the fun part, isn't it?

Cute. Not the kind of cute that he'd risk saying anything about, but at least the kind that made him snort in good-natured amusement. Clearly those college clothes weren't a subject to be harped on for too long—which, unfortunately, made him all the more curious, but self-control was... usually his strong suit.

"Aw, come on—I've always heard that chicks dig scars. And guys love exposed skin regardless; you've got all your bases covered in at least two directions." He wasn't sure how helpful that color commentary was, but if it at least served as a little bit of a distraction, he could justify it. (Not that that matters after it's already been said.)

Another light huff of amusement paired with a soft 'thanks' as he headed out the door. Chorus itself, while it hadn't been totally off his radar, had never been somewhere he'd been particularly inclined to go to based on the little rumblings he'd heard here and there; not until recently, anyway. New Armonia seemed like a breath of fresh air compared to those rumblings, and maybe it was high time that he got the chance to explore a little. It seemed nice.

"I'd like to think you'd warn me. What I'm worried about is how long you'd take to do it." The 'something sarcastic' seemed more reasonable. (And the ribbing certainly was the fun part. It almost felt normal, and he'd take almost normal.) "You better hope I'm not feeling that embarrassing outfit so much that I inadvertently ignore the sub-text. Then we'll both be embarrassed."

The grin she shot him was equal parts her being glad to hear a yes and humor; he wasn't wrong.

"No, please- be brutal. I can handle it. I haven't taken any dedicated time for my wardrobe since college. Something tells me rave clothes aren't quite appropriate, and athleisure is a niche that I'm just not sure I should lean too hard into." And, you know, the odd pieces of active wear that had been picked up here and there really didn't make a good 'lounging and reading a book' outfit. She'd been trying so hard to relax more often lately.

"Maybe we can get you a little something while we're out too." It's boring as hell to go shopping if you don't get anything of your own while you're out, isn't it?

"There's a few thrift stores down the way-" Thrift stores being the code for 'stuff scavenged from abandoned shops and homes in the area and still in good enough condition to sell'- "and I hear somebody's opened up a cafe in the area that we can hit up while we're out, too."

If he hadn't already been sold on the idea, that grin would have been enough to do the trick. It was nice to see her so... genuinely enthused, if saying 'straight up happy' was too strong of an emotion for this particular adventure. "Rave clothes? Man, you've got a whole secret life I know nothing about. Maybe you should stick to those. Mostly because I want to see 'em, but I'm sure you look great anyway."

Probably not very comfortable for anything other than the rave, though. And maybe not even there. The little adventure that came with a new style was much more tempting than the willingness to lean into the old—it was probably better to move on from that regardless.

"You've got this all planned out, huh?" He can appreciate that. A little joint shopping—unexpected, but not unwanted, the more he thought about it—a little light dining, spend some time together. Actually, that sounded... shockingly normal, even. Damn. "... I don't even have a quip for that one; just sounds nice." As evidenced by the fact that he was already readily getting to his feet to embark on their little outing. He could use some out time without obligations.

"So long as you're willing to let me know if I find something that's too unflattering to manage. I trust my judgement, but a second opinion never hurts." He had a quip for that one, though.

There was a smile behind that sentiment despite the fact that he very well could have plans, but the last thing Lina needed to think was that any potential plans would be more important. As far as he recalled, she didn't often ask for help, period, let alone with something so technically personal. Growth! And it was important to encourage growth.

"The hell you are," he argued with a light laugh. Maybe he was at least a little apologetic, but let the old man get in a little dig for the heinous breaking up of that conversation.

"Oh, 100%—I'm not sure why you'd feel the need to advertise your preferences as such. Is it an invitation? A 'just so you know' situation? I sure as hell wouldn't be willing to find out." He'd like to hope such a shirt didn't exist, but he knew better than to have those kinds of hopes. "Please don't tell me you've encountered such a shirt in the wild."
