the very late new years retrospective!
music to listen to while reading:
Gorillaz - Orange County (feat. Bizarrap, Kara Jackson and Anoushka Shankar)
hey everyone! i felt obligated to make a new years post, not really a recap but just my general thoughts about 2025 and my feelings moving forward
i had finally got the hang of doing digicore/hyperpop beats, so i could do the music ive always wanted to do. say u luv me was the first release and i still like that one a lot, it's so catchy lol and scenegirl is sickeningly catchy too... you know these are good when even i cant forget my own lyrics, usually i do!
and then eventually i released my mini-album, palette. im still very proud of what i did there, it's very cohesive! i still like it a lot
and now... ive been cooking some stuff slowly, but surely. ive been listening to a lot of new order and other 80's synthpop/new wave lately, so that should probably hint on what i wanna try this year... i already got one song finished, a original, and it's a banger!
im cautiously optimistic about how you all will think about it, but as always, i hope for the best.
i finished dragon ball and dragon ball z, i started watching jojo with my bf, read and watched bocchi the rock for the first time, went full swing into reading one piece, and finished fullmetal alchemist brotherhood for the first time.
all things that i love a lot! it was so nice finally watching and finishing fma for the first time with my bf, that was childhood thing accomplished with someone i love <3 and jojo has been great, i love the characters and creative fights, and the humor as well. i enjoy part 2, part 3 and part 4 the most so far, but even my least favorites have good qualities
but i think bocchi and one piece have made the biggest impacts on me, they're my comfort anime and manga for different reasons. it'd take a whole thing about what i love and what minor problems i have with one piece alone
i thank my bf a lot for introducing me to one piece, it's amazing :3
i have a lot more stuff i wanna read and watch, but i'll get there when im ready!
i replayed the castlevania games after so long, and even played ones i hadn't. i fell in love with rondo of blood and symphony of the night. i thought circle of the moon was okay, i wanna continue playing the other metroidvania games soon
i played project mirai, and a lot of future tone. its probably one of my favorite rhythm games ever! i just love vocaloid so much if it wasn't obvious enough
and now... im getting back into a childhood favorite, doom. its aged like a fine wine, some maps are iffy here and there but otherwise? chef's kiss! i'll have to see what i think about the other games now, and even play and beat some i haven't... but im looking forward to it ^.^
life in 2025 and right now
the same ol same ol. my boyfriend makes everything worth it, it's nice having pals too. there was some lows and some highs, bumpy waves here and there. but having someone by your side helping you along the way makes everything feel easier and okay :>
though, i had experienced some loss in december. a family member that, even though i was never particularly close to, had passed away, one of my aunts. i was saddened by it, especially for my dad and my other aunties, and my grandma.
it made me think about mortality, about how we should always live life in the fullest, because one day it can be taken away from us in a snap. it reminded me of all the other loved ones i had lost, close or not.
i think this is influencing my writing a little bit at the moment, so i apologize if my music ends up being a bit more dreary!! i just like writing what's on my mind
but, overall, it was a okay year. that's better than i can say about any other ones ive had
let's hope that 2026 is a better year, not just for me, but for you too! ^o^
