The Golden Age of Airbenders. I painted this image for the flashback sequences in Avatar Aang, depicting Sonamās ancient Airbender civilization in its heyday.
I designed the color & lighting for Tagah's Demon Form in Avatar Aang!
The bottom image is the version that ended up in the movie, and the rest are all explorations of other possible directions. I was only responsible for color and paint; the character design is by the incredible Kihyun Ryu and Ji Hyeon Choi!
Sonamās Temple. I painted these images for the flashback scene in Avatar Aang, showing Sonam and Tagah in their heyday.

I painted the color key concept for *THAT* Sonam shot. It came out so beautifully in the finished film! (Additional note written below.)
Here is my character color for Sonam and Tagah in the flashback sequences in Avatar Aang! I only worked on color & paint; see below for full character design credits.
Avatar Sonam: Christie Tseng, Jake Panian, Kihyun Ryu; Final by Kihyun and Christie. Tagah: Christie Tseng, Jake Panian, Alex Konstad, Shemsu Turner, Honor Miles; Final by Kihyun Ryu
I made these paintings of Tagah and Sonam for the flashback sequences in the Avatar Aang movie, which I was so lucky to help guide the style direction of.
My painting of Sonamās temple for Avatar Aang. Much of the work I did on this film was developing the style for the ancient flashback sequences!
These are the very first paintings I made for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. I designed the art style for the Sonam and Tagah scenes throughout the film! I want to thank PD Jake Panian and AD Aaron Loftis for trusting me so much with these parts of the movie; their incredible leadership and support carried our entire team.

My little brother had an idea for a game while he was still just a kid in high school. 8 years later, he has somehow managed to bring UNBEATABLE to reality through nothing but his own blood, sweat and tears, and with the incredible contributions of his teams atĀ D-Cell GamesĀ andĀ Playstack. I canāt even begin to express how proud I am of him and of this story, it seriously makes me feel emotional when I think about how much love and devotion he and D-Cell have put into this game. If the premise, visuals or music are at all interesting to you, please check it out on Steam; I promise you will not regret it!!! Congratulations Andrew!!!!
Registration for the 2026 session of my COLOR & LIGHT Class is now open!!
