“I would almost say that’s the definition of strange, actually,” Wes smiled, “Did she thank you for it? i have no idea if animal have manners.”
“Do you know what? She did,” Ciara said, laughing, “I never thought to call an animal out on manners before. Some of them really don’t.”

“Not usually, no,” Nora replied, breathing a sigh of relief that this wasn’t another person who had come to terrorise her for her most recent, maybe slightly controversial, article. “Sorry, it’s just been one hell of a day.”
“Sure it has but you’re not gonna make it any better by starting fights with people before they’ve even opened their mouths,” Ciara said, “I mean no offence that is. I can be the same with my temper but it definitely doesn’t help.”

Wes listened to the other intently. He’d always been so curious how other people’s powers worked, and very slightly jealous of them too. He’d devoted the past four years to understanding how these powers worked, and never ever got bored of it. “That is genuinely so so awesome, and I mean awesome in the traditional sense. I’m in awe,” he grinned. “What’s the strangest thing an animal has ever thought?”
Ciara couldn’t help but laugh, “Thanks,” She said, “I mean, I can’t take credit. It’s not like I gave myself this powers but thanks anyway,” She thought for a moment, “One time a toad asked me to tickle her back, does that count as strange?”

Jordi shrugged. “You give me a lot of animal facts. I forget sometimes.”
Ciara laughed, “Clearly I need to write you up a fact book or something.”

“Yeah, of course, why wouldn’t it be?”
“I don’t know. You seem like you wanted company and I want company most when something is wrong,” Ciara grimaced and shook her head, “Sorry. It’s probably none of my business anyway and even if there was something wrong, it’s bad of me to assume. I’m working on that.”

Ruby thought that it was very cozy being around the fire,when she was offered the chance to roast marshmallows she gave it a chance. “Thanks for making me do this, the last time I roasted marshmallows was a very bad experience indeed.”She shuddered as she thought back.
“How does roasting marshmallows turn into a bad experience?” Ciara asked, “Is that even possible?”

“I don’t suppose you have any food on you that isn’t chocolate?” Hugo asked the person who he sensed passing by as he lay on the ground on his stomach trying to coerce the puppy out from the spot where it seemed to be stuck. “Apparently my abilities and baby talk aren’t doing the trick and I might have to resort to food tactics.”
Ciara shook her head, “Nope,” She spotted the puppy and focused for a second, “His name is Franklin by the way. That might get his attention. But he also seems pretty stuck, do you want me to try and get him? I’m pretty small, I could probably reach him.”

“I’m an opinion journalist,” Nora huffed, crossing her arms. “If you disagree with one of my articles, so be it. They’re my opinions. Not yours. Mine.”
“I don’t actually know anything about you including your name so I don’t know if I’ve read any of your pieces. Do you normally start conversations this way?”

“Cancel any plans you may or may not have had tonight,” Kendall told the other, looking them over for a moment before humming to herself. “Let’s get you a different outfit, get something to eat and then we’re spending the rest of the night out. Let’s go then, shall we?”
Ciara furrowed her brow, “Sorry, do I know you?”

“Jellyfish don’t have brains? How did I not know that?”
“It’s not like I haven’t told you a number of times,” Ciara said with a teasing and sarcastic smile.

“Okay, that is such a cool power.” Wes had been trying to learn all about the various powers he’d come across in his time at the academy, telepathy was certainly one of the more captivating ones. “Might seem like a dumb question, but how does it work?“
“To be honest, I’m not exactly sure,” Ciara said, “I thought I was bit of a late bloomer when it came to my powers, especially compared to my siblings, but I was always able to just know what animals wanted or needed. I guess I thought it was just me guessing correctly a lot but maybe they were just communicating with me,” She explained, “I mean, sometimes it sounds like I can hear what’s going on in their head like actual telepathy but other times, it’s like a feeling. I don’t know how to describe it but I just know what they’re thinking or asking or wanting for.”

“No, no, it’s uh, it’s okay, really.”
“Is everything okay?” Ciara asked after a moment.
jcrdigarcia:
“You couldn’t communicate with them? Why not?”
“They don’t have brains or a language so it's more difficult. Some forms of jellyfish can communicate by flashing lights and I managed to understand them but not communicate back Not all of them are like that though.”

“Sounds fun,” Kennedy replied. “I just thought you were coming up to me, sorry.”
“Nope,” Ciara said, “Just walking. Sorry if I made you think that.”

“Oh, awesome!” Wes replied. “Despite focussing on physics, I’m also a bio person. What’s your favourite thing about biology?”
“Like I said, animals and stuff,” Ciara said, “I have animal telepathy. Seems obvious but that’s me.”
