And I think the saddest part of him and I was that I knew it was just a matter of time before we would end. I clinged to every sweet word he said to me hoping it would lead to him staying. When he kissed me all I could think about was how much I was going to miss that feeling when it was over. I held his hand extra tight and told him every secret about myself. And I was right. We’re over and I wish someone would’ve warned me… When you’re that in love with someone, they’re a storm. They’ll rip your heart out of your body and shred it to pieces. And all you’ll be left with is the memories and laying in bed at night alone trying to remember what it felt like to feel him next to you but now all you can feel is silent tears rolling down your cheeks and the physical pain in your chest that makes it hurt to breathe.

So, he/she chose someone else over you, led you on, or otherwise broke your heart. You know what that says about you? Absolutely nothing. It says everything about the other people, though. Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth. You are a beautiful and unique being and it will take a special kind of person to appreciate it. The significant others of your past made a big mistake when they let you go because you are a treasure and deserve to be treated as such. Things did not work out with these people, but that doesn’t give you a reason to give up on the idea of love and be bitter. Some day, the perfect person will come along and you’ll finally understand why it never worked out with anyone else.

One of the hardest things you will ever have to do my dear is grieve the loss of a person who is still alive.

There’s a theory that states that when we fall in love a chemical is released in our brain and gives us a feeling of attachment towards that person. When we are apart from them it’s this chemical that makes us feel down. The theory goes on to say, that depending on how long you were in love, it can awhile for the brain to drain this god awful poison. However, once it’s gone you will finally be able to move on. It’s theorized a full blown case can take up to 5 years to fully remove itself from the brain. My point being, you can always get over someone. Even if it’s been 2 years and you’re crying in a bathroom stall because someone said his name. And even though you haven’t seen his face since he left you can still count every freckle on his cheek. I know, I’ve been there. I’m still there, and it’s going to be okay.

Worrying about how things might go wrong, doesn’t help things to go right.
