I was reading your gifmaking tutorial (which is lovely by the way. Thank you so much for making it,) and I noticed that you use Adobe photoshop. I don't have the means to pay for adobe photoshop, and the free trial is only 7 days, so I was wondering if you could recommend some alternatives? Thank you so much for creating such a comprehensive tutorial!

Hi, thank you! you’re welcome I am glad it has helped a lot of people. I 🏴‍☠️ my copy of photoshop (because adobe is greedy boooo 🍅) and there are quite a few tutorials on tumblr on how to do it. The only alternative I know of is Photopea, but it will be limited in its capabilities compared to photoshop. Here is a tutorial by @lacebird

There are two tutorials that I recommend looking at if you want to dl ps for mac. First is this one. Second is this one. This google doc is also helpful. Additionally, and I really really recommend this resource, consider signing up to the MacSerialJunkie forum. They have a ton of updated links for the recent PS versions and patching them is easy enough. All the information will be on their forum (it’s a bit tricky to navigate it at first but once you learn …. it’s a treasure trove I promise). I understand being hesitant about this but I downloaded quite a few adobe apps from there and it was safe. If you’re on windows, check out the GenP or Piracy subreddit.
