Casual reminder that it’s normal to have fluctuating energies when it comes to writing or any kind of hobby.
It is normal not to always have muse for certain threads at the time but that doesn’t mean you lack interest in said threads.
Just because you’re not always talking ooc doesn’t mean you don’t care about someone.
Everyone has their own lives outside of tumblr so people can be busy with life and do not have the energy to write with every person they follow.
Be kind and take care of yourself.
Remember it’s normal to take breaks.

Yeah, I've kind of noticed that the RPC is a little TOO lukewarm and silent about this new "update" being rolled out. I expected so much more outrage from our corner specifically, because we rely on the people this update targets every fucking day to essentially have our blogs function. I would expect the community to be a little more up in arms, but I guess because it "doesn't affect the RPC as much," it doesn't matter as much.
It could be because all of the PSA type posts have just started to come out, but all of the psa posts I've seen being spread around are all about how this won't affect us and that there's already a work around and all of that fuzzy shit.
What if I told you that those posts are more wrong than they think?
Maybe it's because people don't realize just how much this will affect us all until it's too late. Allow me to summarize who in our sphere (aka the users that keep some of us going and sustainable btw) this update affects, even if it's really not roleplayers themselves too much:
RP/Askbox Meme Creators
Musings Creators / Users we reblog musings from (and the blogs that compile them together... with this new update, they will be essentially stealing posts from random people)
RP Resource Creators (think templates, psds, pngs, all that good shit)
Icon/GIF creators + fanartists that we may get our FCs and aesthetic posts from
Fellow Roleplayers who are one of the above categories
Dashboard Games that require reblog chains will be heavily affected by this
OUR THREADS WILL BE AFFECTED BY THIS IF SOME RANDOM PERSON REBLOGS IT ACTING LIKE IT'S FANFICTION
This update makes us all content and engagement thieves if we so much as add a WORD or a TAG to a post that isn't ours. Do y'all realize how fucking bad that is for blogs like ours? Blogs that require tagging for organization purposes? Blogs that require reblogging things while putting our own words on them to function on a fundamental level???
Also, this clearly makes turning off reblogs on a post and being a private blog a moot point. So don't think you're immune just because your RP blog is private! All it takes is one public blog reblogging your stuff, and you're done for. Also, turning off reblogs on your OOC posts, after someone you don't want reblogging it does so, won't do a thing anymore.
I will not be tagging this post at all so it reaches the most amount of people, and I highly encourage you to do the same if you reblog this post due to a documented website breaking bug where reblogs DO NOT SHOW UP if you tag it or add anything to the reblog post body.
in case no one’s told you lately, i’m really proud of you ! keep up the amazing work, you’re doing great and although you may not realize it, you’ll always be loved and appreciated. 🧡
it’s okay if you struggle. it’s okay if you don’t feel like writing today. it’s okay if you take breaks. it’s okay if you don’t want to talk to others. your mental well-being is always more important than your activity here and you don’t owe anyone an explanation if you don’t want to give one.
friendly reminder to do the things you love because no matter if it fails or not, at least you'll know you tried. the muse you always wanted to write but never did because you are afraid of getting their characterization right? do it. that one graphic you always wanted to make despite feeling like your abilities aren't good enough? do it. that one person you always admired from afar but are too scared to interact with? do it. it might not always work out the way you planned, and maybe you'll end up realizing it isn't anything at all like you hoped for but don't let your insecurities get in the way of you doing what you want to do.
lack of interaction ≠ lack of interest. sometimes, life gets in the way, or my muse doesn't cooperate with me the way i want, or i'm simply too anxious to take the first step. but just because we currently don't have any interactions going, doesn't mean that i'm not interested in writing with you and your muse(s). maybe the perfect opportunity hasn't presented itself yet, or i couldn't think of a good enough plot but that never ever has anything to do with you. after all, we're mutuals for a reason and that's usually because i enjoy seeing you on my dash and would love to write with you ― whenever that may happen.
do what makes you happy, not what you think would make others happy. want to make a new blog even though you haven't been active on your current one(s)? do it. want to reply to one thread immediately ― even though others have been sitting in your drafts way longer ― because it's the only one you currently have muse for? do it. want to reblog another meme despite your inbox being full of unanswered ones already? do it. want to take some time off to focus on other stuff? do it. no one but you can tell you what to do; if it's something you want, just go for it. this is your blog and your decision on how you want to handle things. because at the end of the day, it matters only that you're happy with it, not what others may think about it.
you are enough. there's only one you and there will always be people who will love you just for you who are. you will have your own personal spin on a character, have them be influenced by your own thoughts and experiences, and breathe life into them in a way that no one else can. and that alone is something to feel proud of because that is something no one can take from you.
you're allowed to say 'no' to things. if you don't want to write or plot or ship with me, that's okay. maybe you're not interested, maybe you just don't feel like it right now — whatever reason you may have, you don't need to explain yourself or make up any excuses. just tell me straight up if that's the case; i promise i won't be mad at you. and should you change your mind in the future, that's great. if not, that's great, too. just don't ever feel obligated to agree to something you maybe don't want to do just because you're afraid of hurting my feelings over it.
