the morning light filtered softly through the thin curtains, warming y/n’s face. she stirred, shifting slightly under the blankets before her hand instinctively reached to the side. the spot on the bed next to her was empty. her heart dipped for a second, but as she sat up and scanned the room, she noticed a folded piece of paper resting neatly on her pillow.
with a sleepy yawn, she picked it up and unfolded it. the handwriting was sloppy but legible, undeniably sunghoon’s.
y/n,
i went back to my dorm early to clean up and change before morning practice. i’ll see you once school starts.
beneath his signature, he’d drawn a tiny heart.
y/n smiled, warmth filling her chest. It was such a small gesture, yet so sweet. she pressed the paper lightly to her chest before setting it on her nightstand and dragging herself out of bed.
the memory of yesterday flickered in her mind, and dread settled in her stomach like a heavy stone. still, she forced herself to move to her bathroom showering quickly, pulling on her school uniform, and gathering her things. “just avoid sunghoon for a bit… and isa,” she whispered to herself as she packed her bag. that shouldn’t be too hard. only math with sunghoon, and no classes with isa at all. she could survive the day if she kept her head down.
after slipping on her shoes, y/n stepped out of her dorm, the cool morning air brushing against her skin. she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, eyes focused on the ground as she mentally braced herself for the day ahead.
she didn’t see him coming until she bumped hard into someone.
her bag slipped off her shoulder, and she stumbled forward, only to be caught in a firm grip. she blinked up, startled, and found herself staring into a pair of warm eyes and a smile so dazzling it made her heart stutter.
nicholas.
he steadied her easily, that signature million-dollar grin flashing across his face. “whoa! sorry about that,” he said, his voice smooth and light. “didn’t mean to nearly knock you over.”
flustered, y/n shook her head quickly. “no, it was my fault. i wasn’t paying attention to where i was going.”
nicholas chuckled, the sound low and easy. “you’re cute, you know that?”
heat rushed to her cheeks. she fiddled with her bracelet out of pure habit, her fingers twisting the threads nervously. he noticed, his smirk tugging wider, clearly aware of the effect he had on her.
“so,” he said, leaning just slightly closer, “does this pretty face of yours have a name to match it?”
her tongue stumbled over her words, but she managed to get it out. “y/n. My name’s y/n.”
“y/n,” he repeated smoothly, as if testing the sound. he pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to her. “mind giving me your number?”
her breath caught. for a moment, she hesitated, staring at the phone like it might bite her. then, slowly, she took it, her fingers tapping her number into his contacts. handing it back, she felt her palms sweat.
nicholas’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming. “thanks. i’ll text you later.” he shot her one last charming smile before turning and walking off, his stride confident and unhurried.
y/n stood frozen for a second, her heart pounding. then, as he disappeared into the distance, she squealed silently into her hands, unable to contain the flutter of excitement.
still buzzing, she slung her bag higher on her shoulder and continued her walk to school, the dread of yesterday’s events dulled for the first time since they happened.
by the time second period rolled around, y/n was already exhausted—not physically, but mentally. she sat at her desk in the physics classroom, her bag resting at her feet, notebook unopened as her pen tapped against the desk. her mind spun in circles.
avoid isa. avoid sunghoon. just make it through today. you can do this.
her chest tightened remembering sunghoon’s worried eyes from last night. the lie she told him clung to her tongue, heavy and bitter. and Isa… y/n shivered just at the thought of seeing her again.
her spiraling was interrupted by a voice.
“Hey— is this seat taken?”
she looked up, and her breath caught instantly. nicholas.
heat rushed to her face so fast she thought she might combust. “y-yes—” her eyes widened. “i mean, no! no, they’re not!”
nicholas’s laughter was low and warm, his smile spreading as he set his bag down. “glad you cleared that up. thought i was about to get rejected before i even sat down.”
y/n ducked her head, her face burning, but nicholas leaned closer with that same easy grin. “i didn’t know we had this class together. first time i’ve seen you here.”
she let out a nervous laugh, averting her eyes elsewhere. “same. i guess we’ve just… tuned each other out until now.”
“or,” nicholas teased, his voice dropping slightly, “fate just waited until now to bring us together.”
her heart thudded. she bit back a smile but failed, cheeks heating even more. “maybe…”
their little bubble burst when the teacher walked in, clapping his hands for attention. students shuffled in their seats, and nicholas gave y/n one last playful smirk before pulling out his notebook. she forced herself to focus, but the edges of her thoughts kept drifting toward him.
the lesson seemed to crawl by, but when the bell finally rang, chaos erupted as everyone packed their bags. nicholas turned to her before she could escape.
“what’s your next class?”
“math,” y/n replied, zipping her bag.
“i’ll walk you.”
she blinked. “oh! you don’t have to—”
“i want to,” he said simply, his tone light but firm.
so, they fell into step side by side down the crowded hallway. the silence wasn’t awkward—it was surreal. y/n glanced at him from the corner of her eye, her fingers twitching against her bracelet.
breaking the quiet, she asked, “so… what do you like about school so far?”
nicholas’s smile softened. “being able to play varsity basketball. always loved the game. my grandfather got me into it when i was little.” his voice shifted, tender. “when he passed, i promised i’d keep playing for him. so every game, every practice—it’s for him.”
y/n’s heart swelled at the sincerity in his words. she hugged her notebook tighter to her chest. “that’s… beautiful.”
he glanced at her, curious. “what about you? what keeps you here?”
“art,” she admitted, shyly. “i love drawing. always have. it helps me calm down. it’s… kind of my escape.”
nicholas’s brows rose, impressed. “really? you’ll have to teach me sometime. i can’t even doodle a stick figure without it looking like a disaster.”
both of them laughed, the sound easy and genuine. soon, they stopped outside her classroom. y/n pointed awkwardly toward the door. “this is me stop.” her face grew hot and subconsciously faced palmed herself for her mistake.
nicholas chuckled at her stiff gesture. “got it. i’ll see you later, y/n.”
before she could react, his hand brushed against her hair, tucking a few strands neatly behind her ear. the gesture was so casual, so intimate, her face flamed instantly. he gave her one last sly smile before melting into the crowd.
y/n pressed her fingers against the spot he touched, her heart doing somersaults. but her elation shattered when she stepped into the classroom.
sunghoon.
he was already there, sitting near the front, and his sharp eyes found her instantly. his brows knitted together, confusion and something darker—hurt? irritation?—clouding his expression. y/n froze, then quickly darted toward the back of the room, her gaze locked on her desk.
but sunghoon wasn’t letting it slide. his chair screeched against the floor as he stood, and moments later, he slid into the seat right beside her.
y/n’s heart leapt into her throat. she looked up at him, ready to bolt, but his hand gently but firmly pressed against her arm, nudging her back into her chair.
the teacher walked in just then, beginning the lesson, which trapped her in place. y/n grit her teeth and pulled out her notebook, determined to focus.
tap.
her hand twitched. she ignored him.
tap.
she glared at him sharply, eyes screaming stop it.
sunghoon leaned closer, his voice a low whisper-yell. “why are you avoiding me?”
“i’m not,” she hissed back.
“you are.” his eyes searched hers, frustration etched across his face. then, after a pause, his voice dipped, tinged with jealousy. “how do you know nicholas?”
y/n blinked, caught off guard. “i… just met him today.” she shrugged, trying to keep her tone casual. “why does it matter?”
“it doesn’t,” sunghoon muttered quickly, too quickly. his jaw tightened. “i just… need to know if that’s why you’ve been avoiding me.”
her grip tightened around her pen. “i’m not avoiding you. i just… didn’t want you to see me being nervous and making a fool of myself around him.”
“nervous?” sunghoon’s brows furrowed. “why were you nervous with him?”
y/n opened her mouth, but no answer came. her face grew hot, and thankfully, the teacher’s voice cut through the tension with a question directed to the class. murmurs filled the room, giving her an excuse to look away.
by the time the bell rang, y/n’s heart was racing. She shoved her notebook into her bag and bolted before sunghoon could stop her, weaving into the crowd like her life depended on it.
the hallway was packed with students moving between classes, but sunghoon’s focus was locked on y/n’s retreating figure. he wove through the crowd, calling her name once then twice, his voice tight with urgency. when she didn’t slow down, he picked up his pace until he caught her just as she rounded the corner.
“y/n!” His hand shot out, grabbing at her arm. “stop running from me.”
she froze, her heart thundering, eyes darting to the side. “sunghoon, i—i’m not—”
“yes, you are.” he moved in front of her, blocking her path, his voice low but unyielding. “you’ve been dodging me since this morning. what’s going on? why are you avoiding me?”
she tried to laugh it off, to brush it aside, but his gaze pinned her in place. “i’m not avoiding you. can we just… not do this right now?”
“not do what? talk? i’m your best friend, y/n. i know when something’s wrong.” his brows knitted together, frustration flashing across his face. “if it’s about nicholas—”
she took a step back, her fingers trembling. “it’s not about him, okay? just—drop it.”
sunghoon stepped forward again. “then tell me what it is!”
her breath hitched. the way he loomed, the way his voice cut through the hall, the way she couldn’t escape it all. it collided with isa’s voice in her head. “stay away from him.”
she tried to tug her arm away, but sunghoon didn’t budge. panic clawed at her chest, her breathing coming faster. “sunghoon, let go.”
“not until you tell me what’s—”
“let me go!” she yelled, the sound sharper and louder than she meant. a few heads turned their way.
sunghoon froze. his eyes widened as he looked at her, really looked at her. he saw the panic in her expression, the way her shoulders trembled. guilt crashed into him like a wave. he released her instantly, stepping back.
“i’m sorry,” he said quickly, his voice soft now, almost broken. “i’m sorry, y/n. i didn’t—”
she opened her mouth to speak, but another voice cut through the tense air.
“hey,” nicholas called, striding toward them, his expression dark. “back off.”
sunghoon turned sharply, his jaw tightening. “this doesn’t concern you.”
“oh, but it does. she clearly doesn’t want you grabbing her,” nicholas shot back, standing his ground.
sunghoon’s hands curled into fists at his sides. “i said butt out.”
y/n’s heart raced. the two boys were squared off, tension sparking between them. she took the chance to slip away, ducking into the crowd before either of them noticed. embarrassment and panic burned her cheeks as she hurried down the hall.
unbeknownst to her, someone had noticed. it was ningning, one of isa’s closest friends, leaning against a locker a few doors down. she smirked as she typed quickly on her phone, sending isa a message with the details of what she’d just seen.
by the time y/n reached the girls’ bathroom, her chest was heaving. she closed the door behind her and leaned against the sink, trying to catch her breath. the tile floor was cool under her shoes, the fluorescent lights harsh overhead. she didn’t even notice Isa until it was too late.
isa stood at the mirror, her lipstick halfway applied, her phone on the counter buzzing with ningning’s message. she looked up, and her eyes narrowed when they landed on y/n’s reflection.
“well, well,” isa muttered, setting her lipstick and phone down. she turned, anger simmering in her expression.
y/n’s stomach dropped. isa was the last person she wanted to see right now.
in two strides isa was in front of y/n, her hand flashing out. the slap cracked through the bathroom, sending y/n’s head snapping to the side, her cheek stinging.
“you thought i was joking?” isa hissed.
before y/n could react, isa’s hand fisted into her hair, yanking hard. pain shot through y/n’s scalp as Isa shoved her against the stall. her head hit the metal with a sickening thud, her nose bleeding instantly, her lip splitting.
she cried out, her hands clawing at isa’s wrist. “stop…please—”
isa threw her to the floor like a rag doll. “i warned you about sunghoon. i told you what would happen if you kept talking to him.” her voice was low, venomous. “if it happens again, you won’t be so lucky.”
with that, isa grabbed her things, snatched her phone from the counter, and walked out without another word.
y/n stayed on the floor for a long moment, trembling. blood dripped down her face, staining her uniform. slowly, shakily, she got to her feet and stumbled toward the mirror. her reflection looked like a stranger. eyes wide, lip busted, hair messy from isa’s grip.
tears welled up and spilled over as she stared at herself. she pressed her palms to the sink, bowing her head. “enough,” she whispered to her reflection. “i’ve had enough.”
she cleaned herself up as best she could, splashing water on her face, dabbing at the blood with rough paper towels. when the bell rang, she waited for the hallway outside to quiet before slipping out, keeping her head down.
she moved quickly through the halls, heart hammering, praying she wouldn’t run into sunghoon, nicholas—or isa again.
finally, she reached the exit, slipping through unnoticed. she darted down the path toward her dorm building, her legs carrying her faster than she thought she could run. by the time she reached her door, she was breathless, fumbling with the lock.
inside, she dropped her bag, kicked off her shoes, and collapsed onto her bed. the weight of the day crashed over her. she curled up under her blanket, staring at the wall, and for the first time she let herself sob freely.
this time, she wasn’t going back out. Not today.
she was going to bed rot and shut out the world until she could breathe again.
the sound of Isa’s heels clicked sharply against the tiled hallway floor as she entered the empty classroom ningning had told her to meet in. the air smelled faintly of dry erase markers and floor cleaner, and the late afternoon sun slanted through the blinds. ningning was already there, perched casually on top of a desk, scrolling through her phone.
“you took your sweet time,” ningning teased, not looking up.
isa tossed her bag onto a chair, her lip curling. “had to wash her blood off my hands first.”
that made ningning smirk. she finally set her phone down, leaning forward. “so? how’d it go?”
isa leaned back against the desk beside her, crossing her arms with satisfaction. “perfect. i left her crying on the bathroom floor again. gold her if she goes near sunghoon one more time, she won’t be so lucky.”
“good,” ningning hummed, nodding. “but…” her eyes glittered with mischief. “you and i both know y/n’s too stubborn. she’s not gonna listen just because you slapped her around a bit.”
isa arched a brow. “so what are you saying?”
“i’m saying we need to make it so she has no choice but to stay away from him,” ningning replied smoothly. “scare her. break her down until even sunghoon himself can’t fix her. we make her believe she’s not worth his time.”
isa tilted her head, intrigued. “go on.”
“think about it,” ningning continued, lowering her voice as if relishing the cruelty. “y/n’s already insecure. she’s quiet, keeps to herself, clings to him like he’s her only lifeline. if we hit her where it hurts, her friendship with sunghoon, she’ll fold. all we have to do is convince her that being near him only ruins his reputation. that she’s dragging him down.”
isa smirked, her eyes glinting with malice. “you’re right… she worships the ground he walks on. if she thinks she’s bad for him, she’ll walk away on her own.”
“and if she doesn’t?” ningning asked, lips quirking into a sly smile.
“then we’ll make sure she does,” isa finished, her tone ice-cold.
the two girls shared a knowing look, their laughter soft but sinister as it echoed in the empty classroom.
for Isa, it wasn’t just about keeping y/n away—it was about control. and for ningning, it was about the thrill of the game. together, they began mapping out their next steps, their whispers weaving a web of manipulation and cruelty.
unaware to them, however, y/n was stronger than they realized. and sunghoon’s loyalty ran deeper than they ever imagined.
ningning’s fingers flew across the keyboard on her phone as she sat cross-legged on the desk in the empty classroom. isa lounged beside her, flipping through a glossy magazine and smirking every time ningning giggled.
“okay,” ningning said, tilting her phone toward Isa. “how about this username? truths_untold. sounds credible, right?”
isa peeked over, her lips curving into a cruel smile. “perfect. now start with something simple, something people will believe without questioning.”
ningning typed, her eyes glinting with mischief. ‘funny how some people act sweet and innocent but secretly throw themselves at every guy. y/n’s been all over nicholas and sunghoon, guess best friends aren’t off-limits either.’
isa laughed, a low, satisfied sound. “that’ll spread like wildfire. everyone already knows sunghoon’s close to her, and nicholas has been giving her attention. it’ll look legit.”
“exactly,” ningning said smugly, hitting post. “by the time lunch is over, the whole school will be talking about it. y/n won’t know what hit her.”
they exchanged a look, their victory already playing out in their minds.
meanwhile, sunghoon sat in class, his pen tapping restlessly against his notebook. he hadn’t seen y/n all morning. not even in the halls, in class or even lingering by their usual spots. his gut twisted uncomfortably.
when the bell rang, he headed straight for the cafeteria, scanning every table, every corner. nothing. he pulled his phone out, firing off a quick message.
hoon: where are you?
hoon: are you okay?
hoon: please answer me.
three dots never appeared. no reply.
his chest tightened. something wasn’t right.
“sunghoon!”
he turned to see isa waving him over, her tray balanced in her hands. she wore a bright smile, her tone light. “would you like to sit with me again today?”
he shook his head immediately. “not today. have you seen y/n by any chance?”
isa blinked, feigning surprise. “y/n? no… why?”
“she’s been avoiding me all day,” sunghoon admitted, frustration and worry lacing his voice. “i’ve been trying to contact her, but nothing. no response.”
isa’s eyes widened with faux concern. “oh no… do you think something’s wrong? she seemed fine yesterday.”
“i don’t know,” he muttered, running a hand through his hair. “that’s the problem. i just… i can’t find her.” his voice cracked slightly at the end, betraying how much he cared.
isa reached out as though to touch his arm, but he stepped back. the denial of her touch made her eye twitch but she still flashed a small smile.“if you see her, let me know,” he said quickly before heading toward the cafeteria doors.
isa’s smile soon faltered as she watched him leave, her jaw tightening. she masked it quickly, turning back to ningning across the room with a smug little nod. the plan was working.
back in her dorm, y/n sat on the floor in front of her mirror, her knees pulled up to her chest. her reflection stared back at her with red-rimmed eyes, cheeks streaked with tears, and a faint bruise already forming along her temple from isa’s attack.
she pressed her hands to her face, sobs shaking her small frame. the rumors hadn’t reached her yet, but she didn’t need to hear them to feel broken.
her bracelet glimmered faintly in the light, catching her eye. she clutched it tightly, her tears dripping onto her hand.
“why me?” she whispered to her reflection. “why is it always me?”
the silence of the dorm swallowed her words. she buried her face against her knees, her sobs muffled, wishing desperately for the storm to end.
by the end of lunch, the whispers had already begun. at first it was low murmurs around the tables, hushed voices behind cupped hands. but soon, phones were being passed back and forth, students leaning over screens, their eyes wide as they read post after post from the anonymous account.
“did you see what they said about y/n?”
“she’s been with both sunghoon and nicholas? that’s disgusting…”
“i thought she was sweet. guess she’s just another clout-chaser.”
the story grew legs, twisting and multiplying as it passed from mouth to mouth. by the time it reached the end of the cafeteria, y/n had been turned into someone she wasn’t a manipulative, scheming girl who “toyed” with sunghoon and nicholas.
sunghoon sat at a corner table, his appetite gone. he scrolled through his phone, his jaw clenching tighter with every word he read.
“what the hell is this…” he muttered under his breath.
one of his teammates, jake, slid into the seat next to him. “you haven’t heard? everyone’s saying y/n’s been messing around with you and nicholas at the same time. that’s why she’s been ghosting you, man. she probably feels guilty.”
sunghoon’s stomach dropped. “what? no. that’s not—”
“i’m just saying,” the teammate interrupted, “it’s all over insta. whole school’s talking about it.”
sunghoon shoved his phone into his pocket and stood abruptly, his heart hammering. he didn’t believe it. he couldn’t. but if that’s what people were saying… maybe that’s why she’d been avoiding him. maybe she was too ashamed to tell him herself.
he stepped out into the hall and dialed her number, pressing the phone to his ear. it rang. and rang. And rang.
“pick up, y/n,” he whispered.
finally, it clicked to voicemail. his chest ached as he spoke.
“hey… it’s me. sunghoon. i don’t care about what people are saying, okay? i just—i really need to talk to you. please call me back when you hear this. please.”
he hung up, staring at the phone in his hand. a part of him wanted to run to her dorm right then. another part told him to give her space.
⚠️TRIGGER WARNING, S/H MENTIONED ⚠️
across campus, y/n lay curled up on her bed, her phone buzzing endlessly on the blanket beside her. she didn’t answer. she couldn’t. her hands trembled as she finally reached for it, her thumb hovering over the voicemail notification from sunghoon.
but before she pressed play, her eyes caught the flood of Instagram notifications lighting up her screen. her heart sank as she opened the app.
hundreds of messages. comments under her photos. direct messages she hadn’t asked for.
“slut.”
“stay away from sunghoon.”
“no wonder nicholas looked at you. you’ll do anything, huh?”
“you’re disgusting. everyone knows what you’re doing.”
“hope you choke on your own lies.”
the words blurred together as tears filled her eyes. her breath grew shaky, uneven. her thumb scrolled mindlessly through hate after hate, each one another dagger to the chest.
she dropped the phone onto the bed, clutching her head with both hands. “stop,” she whispered to herself. “please stop…”
but it didn’t. the noise was inside her now, louder than her heartbeat, louder than sunghoon’s voicemail waiting to be heard.
she sat up, her body shaking violently as sobs tore out of her. the weight of it all. isa’s threats, the attack, the rumors, the hatred all crashed down at once. it was too much. too heavy. too loud.
in a haze, she reached for the small box hidden in her drawer, the one she hadn’t touched in a long time. her hands moved on their own, numb, trembling.
she didn’t think. she just did.
she grabbed her razor and dug it into the warm flesh of her wrists and thighs. each cut deeper than the other as she cut into her skin.
the sting brought her back for a second, but it wasn’t enough to quiet the storm. her tears smeared across her cheeks as her breathing turned shallow.
her phone buzzed again on the bed, sunghoon’s name lighting up the screen.
this time she didn’t even look.
the room spun, darkening at the edges of her vision. her hands slipped, the phone clattering to the floor as she fell sideways onto the bed.
and then everything went black.
⚠️end of triggering scene⚠️
sunghoon sat alone on the steps outside the gym, staring at his phone screen as if willing it to light up with y/n’s name. his voicemail was still unanswered. he tried again, thumb tapping her contact almost desperately.
ring. ring. ring.
nothing. straight to voicemail this time.
a deep, unsettled ache grew in his chest. something wasn’t right. he knew y/n. if she couldn’t talk, she’d at least text him back. she never ignored him like this.
he stood, slinging his bag over his shoulder, his mind made up. he was going to her dorm.
inside y/n’s dorm, silence hung heavy. her phone buzzed and buzzed on the floor, sunghoon’s calls filling the screen with missed notifications. but y/n didn’t move. her body was curled tightly on her bed, her skin pale, her breaths shallow.
her hand, still trembling faintly, dangled over the side of the bed. the bracelet sunghoon had given her years ago glinted weakly in the light, as though holding onto her when she couldn’t hold onto herself.
sunghoon pushed through the dorm building doors, nodding quickly to the front desk worker who tried to stop him. “i just need to check on my best friend,” he said, voice tight with urgency.
he climbed the stairs two at a time, his heart pounding louder with every step. by the time he reached her door, his knuckles were white against the wood as he knocked.
“y/n? It’s me.”
silence.
he knocked again, harder this time. “y/n, open the door. please.”
still nothing.
his chest constricted. something inside him snapped, and he twisted the knob. it was unlocked. the door creaked open slowly.
“y/n?” his voice broke.
the sight made his stomach drop. she was on the bed, limp, her face streaked with tears, blood smeared faintly across her wrists and thighs.
“y/n!” his bag fell to the floor as he rushed to her side, shaking her gently. “hey, hey—wake up! please!”
her chest rose faintly, shallow breaths escaping her lips. relief and terror mixed violently in his veins.
he grabbed his phone with shaking hands, dialing the emergency number, his voice frantic as he explained. “it’s my friend… she’s hurt! she’s not waking up, please send someone now!”
he dropped the phone to the bed and gripped her hand tightly, tears brimming in his eyes. “don’t do this to me, y/n. don’t you dare leave me.”
his thumb brushed over her bracelet, the one she swore she’d always wear. his throat tightened.
“you’re my best friend. my everything. please… stay with me.”

the cafeteria buzzed with the clatter of trays and bursts of laughter from different tables. the air smelled faintly of pizza and fries, greasy and comforting. y/n sat hunched at the edge of a table, fiddling with her straw wrapper, twisting and tearing the paper into little shreds while her eyes flicked restlessly toward the lunch line. her chest tightened with relief when she finally spotted a familiar figure.
balancing his tray with practiced ease, sunghoon scanned the room until his gaze landed on her. the corners of his lips lifted into that small grin that always made her feel seen.
“over here!” y/n called, raising her hand and waving eagerly.
sunghoon’s grin widened. he weaved through the crowd and set his tray down across from her, sliding into the seat.
“man, the line felt like forever today,” he sighed, pulling his milk carton open.
“probably because everyone decided pizza was worth fighting for,” y/n teased, nodding toward his tray.
he chuckled, “you’re just jealous i got the last slice.”
she rolled her eyes but smiled, warmth blooming in her chest. they complained about their math teacher, joking about the strange smell coming from the vending machine, just like always—until the atmosphere shifted.
a sudden hush rippled over their table as Isa and her polished entourage swept into view, the click of their shoes deliberate, like they were strutting down a runway instead of a cafeteria aisle. isa’s saccharine voice rose above the chatter.
“sunghoon! there you are.”
she leaned against the table, flipping her glossy hair over one shoulder. her eyes never once flicked toward y/n, as though she were invisible. the girls behind her giggled, whispering behind manicured hands.
sunghoon straightened slightly, polite but firm. “hey, Isa. what’s up?”
“you should come sit with us,” she said sweetly, her smile too perfect. “we’ve got a spot saved just for you.”
y/n shifted uncomfortably, gaze dropping to the table.
sunghoon shook his head. “thanks, but i’m already sitting here with my best friend.” he glanced at y/n, giving her a reassuring smile.
isa pouted, her lower lip jutting out. “oh, come on. don’t you think you’d have more fun with us?”
“i’m good,” sunghoon replied, his voice calm but final.
something sharp flashed in isa’s eyes before she plastered on another smile. “if you say so.”
as she turned away, her lips curled in the faintest smirk. a subtle flick of her fingers caught the attention of a group of varsity boys at a nearby table. y/n noticed too late.
the next second, icy liquid poured down her head in a sticky cascade. gasps erupted across the cafeteria. y/n froze, then shrieked, her breath catching as the cold seeped into her shirt and dripped onto her lap.
“oh my gosh!” Isa’s voice rang out, feigning alarm. “are you okay?” she reached forward, clutching y/n’s arm with more force than concern.
y/n flinched at her grip. “i—i’m fine—” her voice trembled.
“come on, let’s get you cleaned up,” isa insisted, already dragging her toward the bathrooms. her friends trailed behind, snickering under their breath.
the heavy bathroom door swung shut, cutting off the cafeteria noise. isa’s expression snapped, the sweetness gone like a mask ripped away.
she shoved y/n hard, sending her sprawling to the cold tile floor with a painful thud. y/n gasped, palms stinging as she caught herself.
“stay away from Sunghoon,” isa hissed, her eyes blazing. “he’s not yours. got it?”
y/n blinked up at her, chest heaving. “i—he’s just my friend—”
isa cut her off with a sharp kick to the side, making her cry out. her friends laughed quietly behind her.
“don’t play dumb. if you don’t back off, i’ll make your life a living hell.” isa threatened as her little minions laughed alongside her.
the bathroom smelled faintly of sour milk and industrial cleaner. y/n sat slumped against the wall, her arms wrapped tightly around herself, her clothes clinging damp and sticky to her skin. tears slid hot down her cheeks, mingling with the remnants of the chocolate milk that had been dumped over her head. every shaky breath made her chest ache, but the sharp kick isa had delivered moments earlier still burned the most, stealing the air right out of her lungs.
isa stood over her, expression cold and unreadable. for a moment, she simply watched y/n struggle, her lips twitching into the faintest smirk before she bent down, lowering her voice so only y/n could hear.
“pathetic,” isa whispered, and with a flick of her hair, she left the bathroom, letting the heavy door swing shut behind her.
the noise of the cafeteria hit Isa immediately: trays clattering, laughter echoing, conversations blending into a constant hum. she slid back into the crowd as if nothing had happened, her face perfectly composed. but then she spotted him, sunghoon, standing near the table where he and y/n usually ate. his brows were knit together, his head turning back and forth as he scanned the room for his best friend.
“where’s y/n?” he asked the moment Isa approached, his voice tight with worry. he didn’t even look at her, his eyes still roaming the cafeteria.
the lack of attention burned isa like fire. she forced herself to breathe evenly, to keep her voice calm and steady. “oh, her? she went to the locker room.”
that finally got sunghoon’s attention. he turned to her, suspicion flickering in his dark eyes. “the locker room? why?”
isa tilted her head, her tone light as if the answer were obvious. “she was soaked in milk. you saw it. she wanted to change and clean up a bit.”
sunghoon frowned. something about the explanation felt off. “she didn’t say anything to me about that.”
isa’s pulse quickened, but outwardly she only laughed softly, playing the role of an amused messenger. “that’s because she asked me to tell you. actually…” she leaned closer, her eyes sharp even behind the feigned casualness. “she said she might not be back before lunch is over, so she wanted you to eat with me and my friends. she didn’t want you sitting here alone waiting for her.”
Ffor a long moment, sunghoon searched her face. isa’s smile remained perfectly even, though her fingers curled into fists at her side. finally, he exhaled and shrugged, letting his suspicion fall away. “alright. i guess i’ll wait with you then.”
“good,” isa replied smoothly, though inside she seethed at how quickly his concern had shifted away from her and back to y/n even in absence. still, she guided him toward her table, her expression betraying nothing.
back in the bathroom, the silence was deafening. y/n’s breaths had grown shallow, her eyelids fluttering as her body gave in to the weight of exhaustion and pain. the milk had dried sticky against her clothes, her hair plastered to her damp face. she slid sideways, her cheek pressing against the icy tile floor. then, finally, her body stilled, unconscious in the suffocating quiet.
and no one, not even sunghoon, knew.
hours slipped by before anyone stumbled across the bathroom. the cafeteria had emptied, the afternoon buzz dulled, and the hallways echoed with silence. a custodian pushed open the door, expecting only to find another mess to clean. instead, her eyes widened as she spotted y/n lying on the cold tile, limbs limp, hair matted with dried chocolate milk.
“oh my god!” the woman gasped, rushing to her side. she gently shook y/n’s shoulder, but the girl didn’t stir. panic laced her voice as she pulled out her radio. “we need help! now!”
within minutes, y/n was rushed to the nurse’s office. she woke sometime later, groggy and disoriented, her vision swimming as she blinked at the unfamiliar ceiling. slowly, she pushed herself upright on the cot, her clothes stiff with dried milk that clung to her skin. her stomach churned with confusion.
the door creaked open, and the nurse walked in, this time not alone. behind her was yunjin, the girl everyone seemed to adore, her presence like sunlight breaking through clouds. she flashed y/n a soft, reassuring smile that eased some of the tightness in her chest.
“y/n,” the nurse began gently, “we found you unconscious in the bathroom. do you remember what happened?”
y/n’s lips parted, but no words came. the memory of isa’s sharp kick, the humiliation, the tears and her throat locked around it all. she stared at her lap, silent. the nurse waited a moment, then sighed softly. “that’s alright. i’ll give you some space. if you need anything, let me know.” she slipped back out, leaving the two girls alone.
yunjin lingered, stepping closer. “i like your bracelet,” she said lightly, pointing to the colorful band on y/n’s wrist. “it’s really pretty.”
y/n fiddled with the woven threads, a flicker of warmth sparking in her chest. a memory surfaced: thirteen-year-old her and sunghoon sitting cross-legged in their secret hideout, string scattered across the floor as they tied knots and laughed at each other’s clumsy mistakes. he’d tied hers around her wrist with a grin, saying she had to wear it forever.
a small smile tugged at her lips. “thanks… it was a gift. from my best friend. i promised i’d always wear it, no matter what.”
“that’s sweet,” yunjin said sincerely, her eyes soft. “it suits you.”
the two drifted into small talk, the conversation flowing easily as they swapped stories about their classes, their hobbies, little things they enjoyed. For the first time that day, y/n felt lighter. eventually, the clock on the wall reminded them of the time.
“let me walk you back to your dorm,” yunjin offered warmly. “just to make sure you get there okay.”
y/n hesitated for a moment before nodding. “i’d like that.”
they left the school together, the cool evening air brushing against their skin as they strolled down the quiet streets. their laughter carried softly between them as they exchanged numbers, promising to talk more.
when they reached y/n’s dorm building, she slowed, her heart skipping. a familiar figure sat hunched on the steps, sunghoon, his expression clouded with worry. his head lifted the moment he heard their footsteps.
y/n smiled faintly at yunjin. “thanks… for walking with me.”
“anytime,” yunjin replied, giving her a reassuring squeeze on the arm before heading off.
as soon as y/n turned back, sunghoon was already on his feet, rushing toward her. he pulled her into a hug, but she winced, a hiss of pain slipping out before she could stop it.
he immediately pulled back, eyes wide. “what happened? are you okay?”
“i’m fine,” y/n lied quickly, forcing a small laugh. “i just… fell.”
sunghoon’s gaze dropped to her clothes, still stiff with dried chocolate milk. his brow furrowed. “you fell? on your way to change? you’ve been in those clothes all day?”
y/n swallowed, her chest tightening. “yeah… i must’ve passed out in the nurse’s office. didn’t even realize how much time had gone by.”
the lie rolled off her tongue smoothly, but sunghoon’s concern only deepened. he reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair from her sticky cheek. “you should’ve called me.”
“i didn’t want to worry you,” she said softly, meeting his eyes. “i’m okay now, i promise.”
he searched her face, reluctant, but finally exhaled. “if you say so.”
y/n offered a faint smile and gestured toward the door. “come inside, it’s cold. you can sit while i shower and finally get out of this mess.”
she punched in her dorm code, the lock clicking open. together, they climbed the stairs to the second floor. y/n pushed her door open, leading sunghoon into her small but cozy room. he sat down carefully on her bed, watching her with quiet unease as she grabbed her things.
“i’ll be quick,” she said, forcing a lightness she didn’t feel. then she disappeared into the bathroom, leaving him alone with the weight of unanswered questions.
steam curled against the bathroom mirror as y/n stepped under the spray of hot water. the first drops hit her skin, and she flinched. the heat stung against the sticky layer of dried chocolate milk, loosening it slowly, washing it away in rivulets of brown. she braced her hands against the cool tile wall, head bowed, her body trembling as the memories replayed uninvited.
isa’s sneer. the sting of the kick. the cold, wet tiles pressing into her cheek as darkness claimed her.
her throat tightened, and before she realized it, tears were mixing with the shower water, sliding down her cheeks in hot streams she couldn’t control. she pressed her forehead against the wall, muffling her sobs under the hiss of the water. for hours she had been lying there on the bathroom floor, helpless and forgotten..humiliated.
her fingers unconsciously sought the bracelet on her wrist, twisting the damp threads. Tthe colors had dulled over the years, but it was still intact, still a piece of aunghoon. the memory of thirteen-year-old him laughing, promising they’d always be there for each other, stabbed at her heart. she had lied to him tonight. she had looked him in the eyes and lied, because how could she tell him the truth?
how could she tell him that Isa, someone he barely even noticed, had reduced her to nothing with a single cruel smile?
she scrubbed at her skin, as if she could wash away the shame along with the milk, but the ache in her chest lingered. the hot water ran and ran until her skin was flushed, and finally she shut it off, the sudden silence pressing in.
wrapped in a towel, she stood in front of the mirror, droplets still clinging to her lashes. her reflection looked tired, her eyes rimmed red, lips trembling. she forced herself to breathe, to gather enough strength to face sunghoon again.
when she finally stepped out into her room, sunghoon was still there, sitting on the edge of her bed, elbows on his knees, staring down at the floor. the moment he heard her, his head snapped up. his eyes softened with relief, but worry still lingered.
“you took a while,” he said gently, standing up. “do you feel better?”
y/n nodded, clutching the edge of her towel a little tighter. “yeah… i feel human again.” she tried to smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes.
sunghoon studied her for a moment longer, as if debating whether to press her for the truth. instead, he sighed and sat back down, patting the spot beside him.
“come sit,” he murmured. “you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. i just… don’t want you to be alone.”
her chest ached at his words. slowly, she crossed the room and sat next to him, close enough that their shoulders brushed. the warmth of his presence was grounding, almost enough to silence the storm in her mind. almost.
she fiddled with the bracelet again, twisting it between her fingers. sunghoon noticed, his lips curving faintly. “you still wear that thing,” he said softly. “i can’t believe it’s held up all these years.”
y/n’s eyes stung again, but this time she managed a small, genuine smile. “i told you I’d never take it off.”
the weight of her secret pressed heavily in her chest, but for now, she let herself lean into him, resting her head lightly against his shoulder. sunghoon stayed still for a moment before tilting his head, resting it gently against hers.
for the first time since the cafeteria, y/n felt safe, even if only for a fleeting moment.
the silence stretched between them, heavy yet comforting. y/n’s head still rested lightly on sunghoon’s shoulder, her fingers toying absentmindedly with the bracelet on her wrist. sunghoon shifted a little, turning to glance at her, his voice low.
“y/n,” he began carefully, “what really happened today?”
her body stiffened against him. he noticed instantly.
“you don’t just… pass out for hours after a fall. you know you can tell me anything, right?” his tone was earnest, his eyes searching her profile.
y/n’s lips parted, the truth burning at the back of her throat. she wanted to tell him everything. how isa threw her down like she was nothing on the bathroom floor and kicked her so hard that it knocked the air out of her lungs. she wanted to collapse into his arms and confess how scared she had been, lying helpless and alone. but the words tangled, stuck somewhere deep inside. fear of not being believed, of sounding weak, of shattering the image he had of her, all sealed her silence.
she only shook her head, her eyes glued to the floor. “it’s nothing, hoon. i promise.”
he exhaled slowly, his expression softening despite the frustration flickering in his eyes. he knew her well enough to recognize when she had built a wall too high to climb. “alright,” he murmured finally, “if you don’t want to talk about it now, i won’t push it any further.”
the clock on her desk ticked quietly, and sunghoon’s gaze drifted toward it. his eyes widened slightly. “it’s late. i should head back since i’ve got practice early in the morning.” he started to rise from the bed.
but y/n’s hand shot out, grasping his. “wait.”
he froze, looking down at her. she held his hand tightly, her eyes pleading in the dim light of her room. “can you… stay? just until I fall asleep?”
something in her voice sounded so fragile, raw—unraveled him completely. sunghoon studied her for a long moment, and in her eyes he saw it: the pain she tried so hard to hide, the loneliness, the desperate need for comfort. his chest tightened.
“yeah,” he said softly, his voice gentle. “of course.”
he shifted, lying back on her bed, then patted the spot beside him. “come here.”
y/n hesitated only for a moment before sliding down next to him. the second she settled, his arms slipped around her waist, pulling her close. her head found its place on his chest, right above his steady heartbeat. the sound was rhythmic, grounding, each beat calming the storm inside her.
“you’re safe,” he whispered, almost more to himself than to her. then he pressed a small kiss to her temple, so light and tender that her breath caught. her heart fluttered, her face warming, but she didn’t move away.
instead, she let her eyes drift shut, clinging to the warmth of him, the comfort of being held. the world outside their little cocoon melted away.
sleep crept in slowly, wrapping around them both until they slipped into a deep, shared slumber. her fears momentarily silenced with his arms still protectively wrapped around her.

the chaotic symphony of energy pulsed with nerves and competition, leaking through the double doors that stood in front of the pair. the gym smelled faintly of sweat and varnished floors, and every echo of sneakers squeaking against the hardwood seemed to hold the weight of ambition.
“i don’t think i can do this, y/n,” sunghoon muttered, his voice barely audible as his forehead pressed lightly against the cool glass window of the door. the two of them watched as the players inside moved effortlessly, warming up with smooth jump shots or laser-focused defensive drills. sunghoon let out a heavy sigh, shoulders slumping in defeat. compared to them, he felt small like an intruder.
he wasn’t polished. he wasn’t trained. the thought of stepping into that gym made his chest tighten.“let’s just go,” he whispered, turning on his heel as if ready to vanish before anyone noticed him. but he froze when he felt a tug on the back of his shirt.y/n held firm, eyes blazing with the kind of conviction that made Sunghoon falter. “nope. absolutely not. you’re not running away from this.”
“y/n, you don’t understand,” he said quickly, panic edging his words. “i’ll make a fool of myself. These guys, look at them—they’re good. way better than me. i’ll just embarrass myself out there.”
y/n stepped closer, lowering her voice so only he could hear. “sunghoon, listen to me. do you think anyone out there started off perfect? every single one of them had a first tryout, a first shot, a first mistake. the only difference between them and you right now is that they chose to walk through those doors.”
he hesitated, chewing on his lip, but y/n wasn’t done. she gently placed a hand on his arm. “you’ve spent weeks practicing until your hands were raw. i’ve seen you out on that court by yourself when the sun was setting and everyone else had gone home. don’t you dare tell me you don’t belong here. you’ve already proven to me, and to yourself, that you have what it takes.”
sunghoon’s eyes flickered, doubt warring with the tiny ember of hope her words sparked.
“you don’t have to be the best today,” y/n continued firmly. “you just have to show up. show them who you are. and if you fail, so what? failing means you tried, and that’s already more than most people ever do.”
for a moment, the air between them was still, his uncertainty colliding with her determination. then y/n gave him a light shove toward the doors, her grin both teasing and resolute.
“now go get ’em, tiger,” she said, her voice bright but laced with sincerity. “because i already believe in you. all that’s left is for you to believe in yourself.”
the gym doors creaked as they swung open, and sunghoon’s heartbeat quickened—but this time, he didn’t turn back.
tryouts stretched on for hours, the muffled thuds of basketballs and the sharp sound of whistles drifting out from behind the gym doors. y/n stayed planted on the bench in the hallway, scrolling absently through her phone but never really paying attention. every laugh, every cheer, every loud exclamation from inside made her stomach flip. she could only imagine what sunghoon was going through in there.
her leg bounced restlessly as the time crawled by. she kept glancing at the doors, half-expecting him to burst through at any moment, either grinning or defeated. still, she waited patiently, hopefully, like a silent cheerleader rooting for him from the outside.
finally, after what felt like forever, the tryouts wrapped up. one by one, players trickled out of the gym, sweat-soaked and drained, chatting about plays and drills as they headed home. y/n sat up straighter, her heart racing as her eyes scanned the crowd.
and then there he was. sunghoon’s tall frame appeared in the doorway, shoulders slightly hunched, his expression unreadable. her heart sank a little at the sight.
he walked toward her slowly, dragging his feet, his lips pressed into a thin line. “hey..” he said flatly, sighing as he dropped onto the bench beside her. “so…” he paused, letting the silence stretch, his gaze fixed on the floor.
y/n’s chest tightened. “oh… sunghoon, it’s okay. you tried your best—”
but before she could finish, he suddenly broke into a grin, eyes sparkling with mischief. “kidding! i made the team.”
y/n blinked, stunned for a moment, before she began smacking his arm lightly. “you asshole! you had me worried for a second !”
he laughed, rubbing the spot she’d hit, his smile so wide it practically lit up the hallway. “i just wanted to see your reaction.”
y/n shook her head, but she couldn’t stop the proud smile spreading across her face. “you’re unbelievable. but… i knew you’d do it.”
sunghoon glanced at her, the laughter in his eyes softening into something warmer. “guess i really did need you to push me through those doors.”
sunghoon was still grinning from y/n smacked his arm, his laugh bouncing down the empty hallway. he leaned back against the bench, running a hand through his damp hair.
“you should’ve seen their faces,” he said, shaking his head in disbelief. “at first, I could tell they were watching me like, ‘who’s this newbie?’ but then i started hitting shots, making plays, holding my ground. by the end, the coaches were practically whispering to each other, like they couldn’t believe i hadn’t been on varsity before.”
y/n’s eyes widened, her pride bubbling up with every word. “i know that’s right! you just needed to give yourself a chance.”
he laughed again, softer this time. “they even said it themselves, ‘we’d be fools not to put you on the team.’” his smile brightened, boyish and excited. “practice officially starts tomorrow morning before school. like… early-early. i’ll probably regret this when my alarm goes off at five.”
y/n playfully nudged his shoulder. “but it’s worth it, right?”
“more than worth it.” he turned his head to look at her, his grin playful again. “although… i think you owe me something.”
she raised a brow. “oh? and what exactly do i owe you?”
“ice cream,” he said simply, standing and offering her a hand. “for making the team. it’s only fair. you can’t let your star athlete walk around without a proper celebration.”
y/n groaned and rolled her eyes but took his hand, letting him pull her to her feet. “fine, fine. but you’re getting one scoop. don’t push it.”
“two scoops,” he countered immediately, already leading her toward the exit.
“un-fucking-believable,” she muttered with a smile, trailing after him.
they lingered in the booth, savoring their ice cream as if time had slowed down just for them. their laughter filled the little shop, mixing with the faint hum of the freezers and the soft music playing over the speakers. every now and then, sunghoon would sneak a smug comment about his “undeniable talent,” and y/nwould roll her eyes, but secretly she loved the way his confidence was finally shining through.
but eventually, reality crept in. the shop lights felt brighter, the streets outside a little quieter. y/n glanced at her phone and realized how late it had gotten. “you should probably head back soon,” she said softly. “don’t you have practice before sunrise?”
sunghoon groaned, leaning back in the booth. “ugh, don’t remind me. the coach actually said to be on the court at six. six, y/n! normal people aren’t even awake then.”
“you’ll survive,” she teased, gathering her things. “champions don’t get to sleep in.”
He smirked, standing with her. “oh, so now i’m a champion?”
she didn’t answer, just grinned as they pushed open the shop doors, stepping into the cool night air.
the walk back to campus was quieter, but not in an awkward way. it was a calm silence, filled with the steady rhythm of their footsteps and the comfort of each other’s presence. when they finally reached y/n’s dorm building, sunghoon stopped at the entrance.
“go on,” he said, nodding toward the door. “i’ll wait here.”
“you don’t have to—”
“yes, I do,” he interrupted gently, his tone leaving no room for argument. “i’ll feel better knowing you’re inside.”
Y/N hesitated only a moment before smiling. “alright. goodnight, sunghoon.”
“goodnight,” he replied, his voice warm. he watched as she swiped her card and disappeared into the building, not moving until he saw the lobby light reflect across her face one last time before the door shut.
only then did he turn, hands in his pockets, heading toward his own dorm. his steps were slower now, his thoughts tangled somewhere between exhaustion and excitement. tomorrow would be the start of something new, early practices, tough games, and challenges he’d never faced before.
and for y/n, it would mean watching someone she cared about chase his dream, and maybe even discovering her own role in it.
neither of them knew it yet, but tonight had marked the beginning of a new era for both of them.
the next day
the alarm went off before dawn, its shrill ring pulling sunghoon out of a restless sleep. he rubbed at his eyes, groaning, every muscle in his body begging for more rest. but then the memory of last night tryouts, the coaches’ words, and y/n’s proud smile—flooded back to him. and suddenly, he was wide awake.
by the time he reached the gym, the world outside was still half-asleep. the sky was painted with faint shades of blue, and the air was crisp with the promise of a new day. inside, the varsity team was already gathering, the squeak of sneakers echoing in the stillness. sunghoon’s heart pounded, but this time, it wasn’t from fear.
he took a deep breath, stepping onto the court for his very first official practice.
unbeknownst to him, y/n had woken up early too. instead of staying in bed, she’d slipped into her neatly pressed school uniform, her tie slightly crooked from rushing. a warm coffee in one hand and her backpack slung over the other shoulder, she made her way into the gym’s bleachers, taking a quiet seat off to the side.
she didn’t call out to him, didn’t make her presence known. instead, she just watched, her chin resting lightly in her palm, a soft smile tugging at her lips as she sipped her coffee.
sunghoon didn’t notice her at first—he was too focused on drills, on proving himself all over again. But after sinking a clean jumper, his eyes flicked toward the bleachers. and there she was. y/n, in her uniform, hair catching the early sunlight streaming through the windows.
their gazes met for the briefest second, and sunghoon felt something stir in his chest. nothing unusual but a warmth that steadied him, reminded him why he was here. he grinned, shaking his head slightly before jogging back to line up with the others.
from her seat, y/n adjusted her backpack strap and whispered to herself, almost like a secret promise, “this is only the beginning.”
and in that moment, with the morning sun spilling across the polished court, it truly was.
on one side of the polished court, the varsity players were running through warm-ups, sneakers squeaking and basketballs thudding rhythmically against the floor. on the opposite side, the cheer team was already gathered, lined up with mats rolled out as they stretched and practiced their routines.
among them was isa, the cheer captain, her sharp eyes surveying the court in between calls of encouragement to her teammates. it was then that her gaze snagged on a figure she hadn’t seen before—tall, raven-haired, moving with an ease that stood out even in the crowd of players. the bold 7 on his practice jersey clung to his frame as he jogged back from a layup.
isa’s brows lifted, interest sparking. she leaned toward the girl stretching beside her. “ningning,” she whispered, her tone low but edged with curiosity. “who’s that? number seven. the one with the dark hair.”
ningning followed her line of sight, eyes landing on sunghoon as he grabbed a rebound and passed it cleanly to a teammate. she shook her head with a small shrug. “i’ve never seen him before. he must be new… this is literally the first time i’m seeing him today.”
isa hummed, her lips curving into a faint smile. “new, huh?” her eyes lingered on him a moment longer, tracing the way he moved across the court with focused determination. attractive, talented, and clearly not someone she’d forget easily.
“well,” she said finally, brushing her hair back into place, her smile turning more deliberate. “whoever he is, i’m going to find out. practice ends in two hours. i’ll talk to him then.”
ningning smirked knowingly but didn’t say anything, returning to her stretches. isa, however, kept stealing glances across the court, her curiosity sharpening into something like resolve.
meanwhile, sunghoon was oblivious to the watchful eyes on him. his world was narrowed to the rhythm of the ball in his hands, the coach’s voice, and the quiet encouragement of the one person he had noticed in the bleachers— his best friend y/n.
the piercing sound of the whistle cut through the gym, signaling the end of practice. sweat dripped down sunghoon’s temples as the team jogged in for one last huddle. the coach’s voice carried firm reminders about discipline, early mornings, and proving themselves worthy of the varsity title. the players muttered their unified “yes, coach,” before breaking apart, clapping each other on the backs as they headed toward their bags.
sunghoon turned instinctively toward the bleachers where y/n was still seated this whole morning, coffee cup now empty in her hands. he couldn’t help himself but flashed her a quick smile, small but genuine, the kind that said thanks for being here. y/n smiled back, her chest warming, and began making her way slowly down the steps, her backpack swinging lightly with each stride.
but then she froze mid-step. her eyes narrowed curiously as she spotted movement on the court.
one of the cheerleaders, Isa, was walking with confident strides straight towards sunghoon. y/n stopped, her smile faltering just a little, her head tilting as if trying to read the words forming between them.
sunghoon blinked in surprise at isa’s sudden appearance. she had popped up out of nowhere, her ponytail swishing behind her as she stopped in front of him.
“hey,” isa said brightly, extending her hand. “i’m isa.”
sunghoon took her hand politely, his brow quirking. “i know. we have physics fourth period together.”
isa laughed, a carefree sound that echoed lightly in the gym. “do we? shows how much i pay attention. i’m always on my phone in that class.”
he chuckled, shaking his head. “figures.”
“anyways,” she continued, her tone playful as she pulled her phone from her pocket and unlocked it before holding it out to him. “name and number?”
a little caught off guard but too polite to refuse, sunghoon typed in his contact quickly and handed the phone back. isa beamed, tucking it into her pocket. “thanks. i’ll see you around.” and just like that, she spun on her heel, jogging back toward her squad, her confidence lingering in the air behind her.
sunghoon exhaled with a faint shake of his head, slinging his bag over his shoulder as he turned back toward y/n. she was waiting at the bottom of the bleachers now, arms folded and an unreadable look on her face, the perfect mix of curiosity and well, that was unexpected..
when he reached her, she raised her brows. “soo… what was that?”
he shrugged, his expression relaxed. “nothing. she just wanted my number, that’s all.”
y/n bumped her shoulder into his playfully, a teasing grin spreading across her face. “wow. look at you, all-star sunghoon. you haven’t even had your first game yet, and you’re already pulling girls.”
sunghoon laughed, shaking his head as the two of them headed toward the doors together. “don’t start.”
their laughter filled the hallway as they left the gym, neither of them noticing isa lingering near the cheer squad’s mats, her gaze following sunghoon with a flicker of something unreadable. jealousy burned quietly in her chest as she watched the easy, comfortable way he walked beside y/n like they belonged there, side by side.
and though no one realized it yet, this was only the beginning of a storm neither of them saw coming.

NOT PROOFREAD!!
“yo.” in the midst of the darkness that was jake’s slumber, he felt a cold hand wrapping around his forearm before shaking him gently. he remained unmoving. instead, he opted to squeeze his eyes shut, the desire to stay asleep for just a little bit longer seeming more rewarding than whatever sunghoon was trying to do. and he knew what the objective was, how could he forget? even his dreams wouldn’t let him escape the possibility. “wake the fuck up,” sunghoon’s voice sliced through whatever slumber jake had left to hold onto as his roommate began to shake his body more aggressively. jake let out a grumble, swatting the boy’s hand away, but he wasn’t letting up.
“do you want to get up on your own, or do i have to force you?” the question alone felt rhetorical as not even a second later, whirls of icy winds invaded his skin. sunghoon held the blanket that was once stationed so comfortably on jake’s body in one hand, while he yanked him to a sitting position with the other. “it’s time, my boy.”
“what kind of ominous shit is that?” jake questioned as he rubbed his eyes, the bright sunlight peeking through the curtains blinding him before he could fully adjust to it. sunghoon didn’t speak, just held a grin as he waited for the boy to look back at him.
“it’s time,” he repeated once again, his expression doing anything but faltering as he stared at the boy. he was sure he was starting to look like a madman, but he didn’t mind. there was one thing on his mind, and he had to make sure he saw it through.
“okay, okay. stop looking at me like that,” jake grimaced as he grabbed onto the hand that sunghoon held out to him. this was the first step to a new chapter. though he wasn’t sure how ready he was, he owed it to his friend to try. that was the least he could do.
“ight, i’ll leave you to it,” sunghoon said before making his way to the door for a swift exit. “i’ll be in the living room. and you better put that shit on.”
after mumbling a quick response, jake made his way to their shared closet to see what outfit he could throw together. it was already proving to be a struggle as he shifted through all the clothing options he had. he had a whole wardrobe to pick from, but it had been forever since he’d gotten dressed up. since the breakup, he’d been shuffling through the same variety of sweats and sweatshirts; his sense of style was faltering. he poked his bottom lip out, scanning and reshuffling through the hangers as he thought of what to do. “you can never go wrong with black…” he mumbled, grabbing a black collared polo shirt. he moved over to the pants section on his shelves, grabbing the first pair of black oversized jeans in his field of vision and threw it over his shoulder with the shirt as he grabbed a random pair of socks to shove into the pockets of his pajama pants. deciding on the shoes was the easiest part, you could never really go wrong with black air forces.
when he threw on the fit, he paired it with a silver cuban chain, and a variety of silver rings to spread throughout his fingers. he took some hair shaping gel and styled his neck length hair as a wet style, sprayed some axe body spray all over, before finally making his way to the living room to inform sunghoon that he was ready to go.
there, sunghoon was waiting. his feet rested on the ottoman while he scrolled mindless on tiktok, new audios playing every few seconds as he skipped through most of what he was watching. jake cleared his throat, causing sunghoon’s eyes to meet his. the boy pursed his lips, giving a small nod of approval. just a little dressing up, and it was already starting to look like jake was back in his element. “okay, ken carson i see you.”
“yeah just sum slight,” jake chuckled, grabbing his chain to display the jewelry. they both shared a small laugh and made their way to the door. with each step they took toward the door, jake couldn’t help but to feel less and less responsive of his movements. his heart felt heavy and the door only seemed to pan out, getting further away from him despite being less than twenty feet away now. he stopped the second they were almost out the door, averting his eyes the second he realized sunghoon had noticed his lack of movement. “you good?” sunghoon raised an eyebrow, dipping his head to meet jake’s eyes. he didn’t say anything back, just took a few steps backward and shook his head.
“aw come on man, we’re literally almost out of here. don’t pussy out now,” sunghoon groaned as he shut the door. he bit the inside of his lip, squinting his eyes as he looked off into the distance in thought.
“it’s five o’clock somewhere,” he bargained as he swiftly disappeared into the kitchen, coming back with a half drunk bottle of hennessy, and a shot glass that was definitely used the night before. jake scrunched his eyebrows as sunghoon handed the glass to him, pouring the liquid into it before jake downed it without a word. the hotness of the hennessy traveled down his throat and made an unwelcomed appearance inside his stomach. he let out a few breaths trying to calm down the heat that spread throughout his body. “fuck,” his face contorted as sunghoon stared in awe.
“no chaser? you’re crazy.”
“you didn’t bring me one,” jake retorted, head already spinning as he held the glass out, urging for sunghoon to pour him up again to which he complied with no question.
“you’re a big boy, you got it.”
one again, jake took the shot straight to the head and this time he shook his head as he breathed out. “fuck!” the more the alcohol settled, the more he felt like maybe this was doable. maybe this was okay. “i think i’ll be good after this next one.” he held the glass out again and sunghoon barely got to turn the bottle up once he finished pouring before jake snatched the glass away to down it once again.
“you ready?” sunghoon asked while jake kept his eyes shut, responding with a nod. “let’s go.” and just like that, they made their way to sunghoon’s supra. as they’re driving to the mall sunghoon decided to further set the mood by playing throwaway by future. jake’s ears perked up as the familiar beat invaded his ears, the bass of the car adding onto the vibe as he began singing the lyrics with his whole heart.
“fuck that bitch,” jake mumbled over the volume of the music, which sunghoon almost didn’t catch. but he did, and he was proud.
“say it with your chest!” sunghoon exclaimed, giving him two encouraging taps on his shoulder as if putting a battery in his back.
“fuck that bitch!”
“hell yeah, my boy!” they nodded their heads to the song as it continued playing until the point where the beat switch came into play. that’s when sunghoon switched it to a song of the same nature, excluding the tenderness. by the time they got to the mall, jake was hype. he was already imagining all the girls he could possibly speak to. upon getting out of the car, jake had somehow lost footing on the flat pavement, nearly stumbling to the floor had sunghoon not been quick enough to grab him by his collar.
“can you act normal?” sunghoon rolled his eyes while jake steadied himself, regretting his decision to give the boy “courage” shots to begin with. in his defense, he didn’t anticipate how much of a lightweight his friend was.
“i’m sorry. you know i didn’t eat anything yet, right?” jake nearly slurred as they continued walking into the building. the cold air nearly punched them as soon as they stepped foot inside, the cool toned artificial lights adding onto the chill as they moved forward.
“now, listen,” sunghoon turned to jake whose ears immediately perked. “the whole ordeal is to look inviting but not desperate. keep your head on a swivel and any eye contact you make with a girl, just smile and nod for them to come over.”
“what?”
“like this,” sunghoon’s eyes searched the seemingly endless crowds of people before they found their stationary spot that jake couldn’t quite find himself as sunghoon demonstrated perfectly what he had just said before he leaned down to whisper in his ear. “and just like that, bitches come flocking.”
the crowd remained a blur as the girls approached, jake didn’t see them until they were directly in front of them. it was two girls, their style was alternativeㅡ ripped stockings under their shorts, big boots, off the shoulders cropped band tees, elaborate eyeliner, black contacts, it was very put together. they were gorgeous and all, but jake just wasn’t… moved.
“hey, sorry this is so random, but we just had to say you two are really cute,” the first girl stated, her toneㅡ at least in jake’s opinion, overly light and feminine as if to reel the boys in. he didn’t care all that much. their eyes remained focused on sunghoon, but the quieter friend’s eyes seemed to sneak glances at him.
“yeah, like… mall trip made,” the previously quiet friend chimed in.
“thank you, ladies.” sunghoon failed to hide his grin of satisfaction, his canines displaying themselves almost immediately. it never failed to shock him how easily he could attract women, he was happy to be able to quickly bring an attractive pair to his friend despite the fact that they had only walked in less than ten minutes prior. he didn’t even have to try. “this is perfect, actually. me and my boy, jake, here just moved to this area. figured what better way to get familiar than a good old fashioned mall trip.”
“oh really?” the girl’s eyebrows lifted as she pursed her lips into a surprised looking pout. “that’s cool, how are you finding it so far?”
sunghoon slightly grimaced as he looked off to the side, sucking in a breath. “honestly? it’s been… kind of overwhelming. we could really use a tour guide…or two?”
“well i can be one,” the girl, who was primarily looking at sunghoon, chirped.
“and i can be two!”
sunghoon turned towards jake, whose face remained neutral. he could only offer a shrug, not wanting to express his reluctance to stick around these girls. he wasn’t sure what switched inside of him, but now all he wanted to do was go home. and it was clear on his face, but sunghoon couldn’t quite pick up on that.
“sounds like a plan!” sunghoon clapped his hands together and the quad started moving further into the mall. “i forgot to ask, can we get a name to associate with your pretty faces.”
“oh- yeah! i’m eleanor. nice to meet you,” sunghoon’s admirer smiled, extending her hand out to both of the boys who shook them upon the offer. “and this is maya. you guys are of age right?”
“yes we’re college students.”
“perfect!”
as the group continued walking, sunghoon and eleanor’s conversation flowed easily. their distance between the quad became larger the more they conversed, leaving jake and maya a few feet behind. every time he felt as though they were too far, he quickened his pace forcing maya to follow suit if she wanted to catch up, but the bounce in her step could only display her eagerness to engage with him.
a soft smile played on her lips as she tilted her head toward him. “so… do you have a major yet? or are you still figuring it out?”
keeping it short after an inaudible sigh slipped, he replied. “business.” he didn’t spare her a glance. his jaw was tight as his gaze remained locked straight ahead, each step just a touch wider than necessary—as if silently daring her to keep up. and keep up she would. for every one step he took, she compensated with several steps of her own. she rarely remained inches behind him for more than a second.
“oh cool! are you, like, into finance stuff?”
“not really.”
“okay… um, what do you like then?”
for the first time since they started walking, jake’s movements paused, prompting maya’s to do the same. his posture stayed stiff, hands still stuffed in his pockets as he turned his head toward her, offering the briefest eye contact before looking away again.
“quiet.”
the air between them chilled. “right. well, you definitely picked the wrong group for that,” she laughed once, lightly, almost to herself. when she leaned slightly closer to the boy, he subtly leaned the opposite way.
“seems like it,” he deadpanned and they resumed walking to catch up to sunghoon and eleanor. and though she stayed by his side, every second made it obvious—he was walking with her, not with her.
maya didn’t bother saying anything else, just pressed her lips together, nodded to herself, and picked up her pace. she didn’t look back to see if jake would catch up this time.
when she reached eleanor with sunghoon who was still only a few steps ahead, she walked straight up to them, brushing past the pair’s chatter as she spoke.
“i think i’m gonna go shopping on my own,” she said, not cold, but not exactly warm either. and she didn’t wait for a response as she turned toward the nearest store window and kept walking, her footsteps steadier now that she wasn’t chasing conversation.
“ahh,” eleanor’s eyes followed behind her friend, watching before subtly shifting her eyes to the side where sunghoon now stood still. biting the inside of her cheek, she shook her head. “i should probably go too, then,” she finally said. although sunghoon knew her friend’s departure would’ve been the end of his fun, too, it didn’t soften the blow. his lips subconsciously formed a thin line as he shook his head before he replaced it with a small, forced grin.
“aw, okay. well, it was nice meeting you.” before the words fully left his lips, she was already on her way, hair flipping when she briefly turned around to offer him a smile of her own. a genuine one.
“it was nice meeting you too, text me!”
“for sure, for sure.” his voice was low now as he rubbed his temples, anger brewing in his veins the second he sensed jake’s presence creeping next to him. he didn’t even have to open his eyes before he rolled them. “what the fuck is your problem?”
jake, surprisingly taken aback by his friend’s hostility, slightly flinched as he scrunched his nose and eyebrows. “i don’t know. she’s just not my type.” what a sorry excuse, sunghoon thought. but jake wasn’t sober, so maybe he just didn’t realize how shitty he’d just been.
“well no need to be a dick,” he retorted. “if that was the case, you should’ve said something!”
“i didn’t have much of a choice?” jake couldn’t understand where this pushback was coming from. they’d only been in the mall for a few minutes before being approached, there wasn't enough reaction time for him to object, and even if there was, who was he to decide? “they were literally in front of us, i’m not that rude.”
“whatever man.” sunghoon shook his head as he started walking again. “let’s go to the food court real quick, i gotta go piss.”
“okay, let’s get something to eat too,” jake nodded as they made their way to the overpopulated eating area. chatter filled the open space from wall to wall. jake got a glimpse into each group’s lives as they passed, hearing bits of conversations he wasn’t apart of. “what are we gonna eat anyway?”
“you figure it out,” sunghoon’s eyes wandered around the area until he found the restroom sign in the far right corner. “i’ll be right back,” he said, walking off before the boy could even respond back. though the mall’s volume didn’t change, silence took over him as he scanned each franchise’s sign, unsure of what he could even be hungry for while the bodies of other mall goers moved around his still standing one. nothing stood out to him, but a scent caught him off guard as a trio of women around his age walked in front of him. he blinked, each one lasting what felt like hours as his eyes stayed fixated on the back of one particular girl’s head. a cool toned, burgundy brown hair flowing down her back that sent shivers down his spine while his heart simultaneously dropped into the deep pit of his stomach. there was just no way. she couldn’t be here, right? why here? why now?
his body had a mind of his own, each step he made wasn’t his to take as he felt himself keep walking behind the girl’s until he was right behind them in line at the korean corn dog franchise. he felt like he was on fire. the heat spread from his toes to his fingertips, sweat pooling in the palm of his clenched hands. he searched for nicholas’s face. if it was truly winter in front of him, his old friend wouldn’t be that farㅡ anywhere winter was, nicholas was always in close range. but his face just never seems to appear. the tension in his body eased. his shoulders relaxed as he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. maybe he was just imagining things. the alcohol would be an easy blame, he wasn’t in his right mind to be here alone in such a crowded space, maybe he was seeing what he subconsciously wanted to. it was okay, for now. he was okay.
maybe not. there was no way he was imagining this vividly now. he heard her laughㅡ that damn laugh. the same one he used to elicit after goofing around, trying to ease the attitude she’d caught with him over something minimal that she had waited too long to speak up about. the same laugh that he’d get after one of his unfunny jokes finally landed in a conversation. the same giggle she’d squeal out when he’d just hold her in his arms, showering her with kisses after a long day at practiceㅡ when he’d miss her the most. he just heard it, she was really here. all the pain, all of his buried emotions hit him at once. all he knew now was that he wanted- no he needed to go home.
“y/n, stop!” a voice yelped before giggling. “there’s no way you actually said that to her.”
jake’s eyebrows furrowed as he chimed out the audio of the world around him, his focus zooming
in on the girls in front of him. they turned to winter as she laughed. but, if that was winter then why would they call her y/n? who the fuck is y/n??
“i have to get out of here,” he mumbled to no one other than himself, swiftly making his way to the area he saw sunghoon walk to before he stopped paying attention. it was quiet around him, his heartbeat boomed in his ears and he felt it through his body. breathing jagged, head spinning, and sunghoon was still nowhere to be found. tears began to well in his eyes, but who was he to cry? was that even winter? he sat down at the first empty table he found, resting his head in his folded arms at he sniffled, trying to swallow the remaining pain that was still brewing. lifting his head, he breathed out and rose again making his way back into the line where he previously stood. it was shorter than when he left it, but the group was nowhere to be found. he wasn’t watching where he was going until it was too late, he bumped into the very woman he was looking for, the collide crushing the drink she was holding loosely onto as the cold fizzy soda exploded onto both of their shirts.
“shit!” the girl exclaimed, her eyes darting down to the brown mess on her previously white blouse. “yo! watch where the fuck you’re….” as her eyes trailed back up, they met with his and the world felt like it had stood still for just a moment. “going?”
god, he sure was a looker. the anger she felt had dissipated and any of the crude words she wanted to spill were long gone. “um, sorry about that. are you okay?”
her behavior caught off guard, it was almost as if they were strangers. he blinked. “uh… yeah. i’m sorry about that. i should’ve… i should’ve watched where i was going,” his voice cracked, it was too many octaves too light and you could hear the tremble despite the volume of the room barely making his words audible. the distress was written on his face and it concerned the girl. he was like a lost child searching for his mommy.
“are you okay? do you need to sit down or something? you look like you’re going to pass out.”
“uh-“ his eyes flickered to her two friends, and it only left him feeling more deranged. it wasn’t ningning and karina, winter’s best friends. he didn’t recognize these two at all. “c'mon you can sit with us, hun. it’s okay. do you want anything to drink? water?”
“no, i’m good,” he followed them to sit down, still weary of winter’s possible tricks. he tried to search her eyes for some sort of malice intent, but all he could see was concern. genuine worry for him. he tried to sit as far away from them as he possibly could without it being noticeable. nobody said anything, almost as if they were waiting for him to break the silence first. he refused.
“well, uh- hi, nice to meet you, i’m y/n,” the girl finally spoke. y/n? the name he heard earlier? but how? she looked exactly like the girl he loved before, but somehow she was her own person. the more he looked at her, the more he couldn’t believe it. she was a spitting image. but she wasn’t her?
“i’m jake,” his words came out slowly. “i’m sorry, i should go. my friend is probably waiting for me,” he didn’t bother waiting for a response as he jumped up quickly making his way towards somewhere- anywhere else. he couldn’t stand to be around her any longer, afraid of projecting his anger towards a stranger that looked exactly like the woman who broke his heart. he didn’t care how rude his departure was or if it hurt her feelingsㅡ his was already hurt severely.
“jake, you good?” sunghoon’s voice pulled him back into his body as he looked at him. “you good?” the boy repeated walking closer to him.
“no i’m not fucking good! where the fuck were you?!”
“yo, chill,” sunghoon threw his hands up in defense as if that could diffuse the turmoil spinning in jake’s head and heart. nothing could make him feel better right now.
“NO, i just fucking saw her! orㅡ not her.. she looked just like her, but her name was different. i don’t know what the fu- i don’t know what’s happening! i wanna go home.” he stumbled on his words, still unable to make any sense of the events that just went down. none of it seemed logical. there was just no way.
sunghoon’s eyes widened. “calm down, you’re making people stare,” he whisper-yelled as he threw his arm around his shoulder, trying to guide him back to the main area of the mall.
“i wanna go home, hoon. i don’t feel good at all.”
“i hear you, buddy,” sunghoon tried to comfort him, but he couldn’t help but to stop in his tracks because he just saw her too. “what the fuck?”
jake’s eyes immediately landed on her figure, still sitting down directly in his vision and he swore he could see her looking at him too from the distance though it was all starting to blur now. “what the fuck? is that not winter?”
“don’t fucking say her name, and apparently not. those aren’t even her friends. i don’t know who any of them are.”
“okay, wait here. i’ll handle it,” sunghoon nodded as he jogged over to the area, leaving jake standing as he watched the pair interact. after a few minutes, he walked over waving his phone like a white flag in surrender but he looked anything but defeated. “count your blessings, my boy. i just put. you. onnn,” he smoldered as he handed the phone over. “put it in your phone and text her. she said you’re a little weird and off putting, but you’re cute enough to let it slide.”
“what?”
“this might be better than what i originally planned for you! damn i really outdid myself this time,” sunghoon boasted as he reached for jake’s phone to input the number himself. “same face, different person, endless outcomes. maybe you didn’t need to replace her, but you needed to replace her.”
what did he just get jake into?
part two is out now woohooo 😮💨

loud music was blaring throughout the house. the smell of cannabis and alcohol filled his lungs as jake searched for his girlfriend winter at this frat party they attended together. jake saw her friend karina and ning ning standing over by the island in the kitchen, approaching and greeting them as he stood in front of them. “hey have you seen winter? she said she was getting a drink 15 minutes ago,” he asked, hoping they could help him.
karina made a face that threw him off a bit and he felt his heart rate drop. “what is it?” he asked, growing more concerned about her whereabouts. ningning sighed at how clueless jake was, starting to feel a bit sad for him. he didn’t deserve what was happening to him, but she didn’t have the heart to tell him the truth. he was a sweet loving boyfriend; it was sad that her own best friend couldn’t see that.
karina was the one to give in, no longer wanting to continue keeping secrets like these for her friend. “last i've seen her, she was talking to nicholas and they walked off somewhere.”
after hearing that, jake’s face lit up as he smiled, relieved to know she was okay and safe with one of his friends and teammates on the soccer team.
“thank you, guys!” he said delightfully and walked away to find his girlfriend. he traveled throughout the house searching for her, bumping into people as he apologized for it as he walked by. he asked around to see if anyone had seen her before checking outside. he walked out to the backyard where the pool was, if was just as crowded but nonetheless he kept on searching. as he walked passed a couple of people he spotted her from afar. his face beamed as he approached her. the closer he got the more his smile faded. there she was, making out with nicholas out in plain sight near the bushes. his heart shattered into a million pieces.
his girlfriend making out with a very close friend of his. he could not believe his eyes. it felt like the world stop turning as he witnessed such a sight. how could she? how could they? he didn’t know what to do. his body froze up at the scene. it was as if he had forgotten how to move his feet. his vision began to blur as his eyes slowing brimmed with tears. great, he’s crying. the last thing he needed was to be crying right now.
the pair soon stopped kissing as they felt another presence near them. they both turned to see who it was and froze in shock seeing a defenseless jake crying in front of them. winter was at a loss for words. she was caught and nothing she could say in this moment would be able to help her so she remained quiet. part of her felt a little bad seeing poor jake like this. “h-how long has this been going on?” jake whisper-stuttered through his tears. they avoided eye contact as he stared into their souls. he waited but both of them kept quiet. “how long has this been going on?!” he yelled, gaining attention from a few people who were in earshot. “for a while now.” nicholas forced out, feeling guilty for it. “what is a while?” jake asked and everything came to light. “months now,” winter stated. jake felt lightheaded hearing that. they’ve been messing with each other for months and he never had a clue.
he started thinking about all the possibilities of them being together without him knowing. all those times she claimed to be catching up on studies or was she with him doing things behind his back. then he remembered everything. the details. the slight glances between the two whenever they would all hang out. times they both would suddenly disappear out of nowhere. it all made sense now.
jake started to laugh. they both stared at him in confusion. he didn’t care how crazy he looked right now. in this moment all he could do was laugh. he gave his all to this woman. almost got kicked off the team at one point for her. whenever she felt like she wasn’t pretty enough he took the time to reassure her and make her feel wanted. he always remembered the little things that she liked, buying her, her favorite perfume after she mentioned it once. surprise dates and gifts just because he thought she would love it. all of it meant nothing to her.
she threw it all away to be with his own friend. that’s what hurts the most. out of all the men in the world that she could have cheated on him with she chose his best friend and teammate at that. he couldn’t believe it but it was true. and that’s the cold harsh reality of life. no matter how much effort you put into something or someone you love, all those efforts end in vain. leaving you with nothing but disappointment. after a few minutes passed by, a painful silence between jake and the pair, jake finally broke it. “well i hope y’all are happy and i wish you nothing but the best,” he said, his voice cracked as he felt his throat tighten up and his chest hurting from the pain of his heart breaking into pieces. he never wanted to end, especially not like that but some things just have to.
jake turned his back to them and began to walk off but was stopped dead in his tracks by words he never wanted to here a again. “i will always love you jake,” winter said truthfully but it was too late for that. he was done and wanted nothing to do with her or love ever again. he was done with it and he vowed to never fall in love again.
weeks went by since they breakup and jake was still a wreck. news got out around campus about their breakup since winter and nicholas decided to go public, announcing their relationship just three days after jake ended things with her. some had speculated that winter was cheating prior to it, but they didn’t care. everyone moved on with their lives while was left to jake suffer in silence. he hardly ate since the breakup if he ate at all. he found it hard to sleep at night because all he could do was cry at the memories, from the situation of it all. never getting that scene out of his mind, the love of his life kissing his best friend.
he stopped showing up to practices to avoid nicholas. his coach told him if he missed another practice, he’d be kicked off the team and, to be honest, jake didn’t even care. life was pointless; he couldn’t take in anymore.
he was lying in his dorm room as his roommate sunghoon watched from across the room, watching his friend wallow in sorrow in his bed. he pitied jake and wanted to make him feel better. so he thought why not take him out to the mall so he could meet other women to help distract him from his current problems.
“listen jake, i understand you’re heartbroken, but you gotta get over that hoe.” sunghoon said, causing jake to turn his head in his direction. sunghoon sat at his desk chair, slouching as he faced in jake’s general direction. “she’s a hoe and you just don’t understand hoon. i loved that girl deeply but she just didn’t want me like i wanted her,” jake said honestly, his heart yearning for her again. he missed being able to hear her beautiful voice as she sung songs to him, he missed seeing her smile after she received thoughtful gifts from him, he missed her touch and laying in each other’s arms, cuddling on cold nights. it just wasn’t fair. how could he have not seen the red flags before? but, then again, you do dumb things for love. it deceives you. and he was blinded. if it weren’t for her disappearing at the party, he would have never known what was going on for so long.
sunghoon interrupted his thoughts, “tomorrow we’re going out and no you can’t back down so dress nice, there will be plenty of fine shyts,” he said making jake scoff. “i don’t need a ‘fine shyt’ i want my shayla but she fucked my head up bad.” jake said and rolled over, his back now facing sunghoon. “look she didn’t and still doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you, so why should you still be moping over a hoe who fucked YOU over? it’s time to move on, so just be ready tomorrow,” sunghoon said one last time before turning away in his chair to finish the rest of his assignment.
as harsh as it was, sunghoon was right. what was the point of just sitting here crying over a girl who never wanted him? maybe he would just go to the mall to meet fine honeys. maybe he did need a little distraction from winter. he’d do anything to try to erase that woman from his mind so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
jake succumbed to his drowsiness, slowly drfting off to sleep. who knew what tomorrow might hold for him. maybe things would turn out for the better.

the sound of yelling and glass shattering filled the small one bedroom apartment. causing a disturbance to their fellow neighbors. that’s going to be another complaint for the fifth time this week.
“you never fucking listen to me! you’re always out with your home boys or on that damn game!” y/n screamed as she smashed the living room tv with her fists, drawing blood from them as shards of the glass sliced into her fingers and knuckles. the pain was unbearable but in the heat of the moment, she couldn’t have care less.
jaehyuk watched from behind her with a look of disbelief apparent on his face. he couldn’t believe his eyes for one second. he couldn’t handle another one of her manic episodes right now as he sat on the couch with his headset on and gaming controller in hand. suddenly rage took over, his face burning red as he watched y/n destroy the only peace he had in this hellhole. four years of them being together and never had he ever felt so much aggression towards her.
he got up from the couch, taking his gaming set off and sitting on the table in front of him before heading back to their shared bedroom.
enraged by his sudden lack of care, y/n followed after him screaming at him, “where do you think you’re going, huh?! answer me!” she grabbed his arm, trying to drag him back out but he was far too strong as kept pushing her off. y/n’s frustration continued, her blood boiling. he never listens. never wants to hear how she feels. it’s always about him. he goes and spend his time with his friends or he’s always playing the game. its like her existence never really mattered to her. four years of being together and its all the same. she couldn’t contain it anymore and started punching him in his chest. he stood there taking the hits, letting her get her frustration out for a bit until a punch landed in his face, causing his head to turn. blood poured out from his mouth, his lip was busted. the room grew silent as she watched his take his hand and wipe his lip. his face read an expression she couldn’t quite understand but it scared her. his eyes darkened and her heart began to race.
he took a step forward causing her to take a step back to to keep space between them but he continued to push forward until he backed her into a corner closing the gap between the two. he had her trapped. before she could process anything she watched him raise a hand as if to hit her, she closed her eyes and waited for him to hit her back. she flinched upon heaing a loud thud next to her. she opened her eyes to see he had punch the wall behind her, his hand mere inches away from her face. “you know what? i’ve tried to learn to love you but i just can’t.” he spoke lowly but truthfully. there was a point in time where he did love her but with time, things come to an end eventually. when the arguments started to get worse he tuned her out and eventually fell out of love. he stayed because he didn’t want to let those years go to wast but he couldn’t stay any longer.
hearing those words leave his mouth felt like her world fell apart in front of her. he was right there in her face yet fell so far and unattainable. tears brimmed in her eyes as he stared at her, not one ounce of remorse for her. she felt so much smaller than she was.
jaehyuk laughed bitterly at her as she silently sobbed in front of him, “now you wanna play innocent? you constantly scream and beat on me all day everyday and i do nothing but now you wanna cry?” he said truthfully. y/n tried to free herself from being cornered but he wouldn’t budge, keeping her from running away this time around. he wanted it to be known that he was done with her. this relationship was the reason why he wasn’t happy. she turned her attention away from him, she couldn’t face to look at him any longer as her heart shattered. jaehyuk grabbed her face, forcing her to look at him. he stared at her, watching the tears stream down her face, snot dripping down her nose. “you want to know why i’m never home? i fucked your best friend giselle, she treats me better than you ever could,” he said coldly, his words felt like daggers to her heart. she blacked out, not knowing what to do next, in that moment of time she felt like she was in a bubble, suffocating in her own thoughts of self pity.
she watched as he removed himself from her, walking to the bedroom, presumably to gather his things and leave. she stood in the same spot, letting things unfold in her mind, replaying them over and over again. and with that, he left and never came back. her life ended that night. she didn’t understand why. just why couldn’t he have tried but it was far too late now.
month went by and y/n never left her home besides from going to work but even then her coworkers noticed a shift in her demeanor. that bubbly person everyone knew and love was gone. she was heartbroken. her mind clouded by the memories of him and his words forever echoed in her mind.
after finding out her best friend betrayed her, she cut off ties, blocking them both on everything. she wanted nothing left to do with either of them.
she spent her days alone at home, drowning herself with alcohol to numb her pain as she scrolled through social media. she paused on a particular add for a therapist, not really reading much into it and clicked on it. it took her to a website where she could book appointment for a session. she signed up immediately and booked her appointment for the next day not thinking too much about it. eventually she passed out asleep, succumbing to the drowsy effects of the liquor she was drinking on.
she woke up around noon with a killer migraine. she knew she was hungover bad but she didn’t care. she pushed herself out of the bed and dragged her aching body to the bathroom where she stared out at herself in the mirror. she was in terrible shape. eyes puffy, face blotchy, her hair unkempt, he hadn’t showered in almost two weeks since the breakup. she hated herself for letting herself go even though she knew he didn’t feel the same.
she was absolutely devastated about herself and decided it was time for a change. she prepared for a shower, she wasn’t going to let this break up ruin her life.
she undressed herself from the clothes that reeked of body odor and booz and stepped into the shower, letting the steaming hot water run down her body. it was relaxing and refreshing feeling the water droplets bounce off her skin. she stood under the shower head and let the water drench her hair. she soon washed up in her favorite whipped vanilla body wash and shampoo. scrubbing her body of every memory of jaehyuk and wiping it from her mind. she wanted to forget that man. she wanted nothing more to do with him. she wanted peace.
she rinsed her body off and hair off and stepped out the shower, wrapping her body in her silky robe and towel drying her hair. she stood at the sink and wiped the fog off her mirror so she could finish getting herself together by washing her face with her favorite skincare products and brushing her teeth before heading to her room to get dressed.
as she was about to head into her closet her phone rang on the side of her bed. who could that me? she thought to herself.
she walked over and looked at the caller ID and it was a number she didn’t recognize but nonetheless she answered it.
y/n: hello?
called ID: hello may i speak with y/n?
y/n: speaking
caller ID: hello y/n i’m jake with love affairs therapy. i’m dr heeseung’s assistant and i’m calling to remind you of your appointment with him today at 2:30pm. are you still available or would you like to reschedule?
y/n went silent on the other end. she was dumbfounded. an appointment for what? she doesn’t remember setting an appointment for anything.
caller ID: ma’am are you still there?
y/n: yes yes i’m still here sorry i spaced out for a moment
caller ID: no worries at all! so you still available or would you like to reschedule?
y/n: i’m available! i will be there
caller ID: great! you will be receiving a text message with the address and a confirmation code to use upon arrival if you want the first session to be free!
y/n: sounds great! see you soon!
caller ID: of course and you have a great day ma’am.
and with that the call ended. she still doesn’t know how she got herself into this situation but she has a feeling that drunk her decided to take things into her own hands.
as on que she received the text message and looked up the address. it was a thirty minute drive. she checked the time to see it was now 1:56pm. fuck! she wasn’t going to make it on time if she didn’t leave now. she hurriedly got dress in leggings and a loose fitted hoodie and threw on her slip on vans before going all her belonging and rushing out her small apartment to her car. she quickly typed the address into GPS and started her route to the building.
the drive there was relaxing. the music playing helped calm her nerves a bit. maybe seeing a therapist is all that she needed since she’s been sulking about the breakup.
she finally arrived and parked her car right in front of the building. it didn’t look odd or anything, just a normal building to her. she took a deep breath and gave herself a little pep talk. you can do this. it’s just one free session, what’s the worst that could happen? she thought to herself.
she finally got out of her car and headed inside the building. upon entering, all she could see was a desk area where a male receptionist sat behind as soon as she walked through the door. she looked around and saw a waiting area where a few other people sat as they waited for their appointment. she walked up to the desk to get checked in.
“hi i’m y/f/n and i had an appointment today with dr heeseung!” she said, flashing a small smile. the man behind the desk looked up and she almost froze in her tracks. he was so handsome as if he was sculpted by god’s hands. his raven hair fluffy, flowing down his face and his updo smile as he greeted back made her heart swoon.
“hi ma’am i’m jake! i think we spoke on the phone earlier. fill these out and someone will be right with you!” he said sweetly as he handed her a clipboard with paperwork to fill out. she took it from him, still never taking her eyes off him before she scurried off to find a spot to sit down.
she sat down and filled the papers out, occasionally stealing glances at jake as he sat at his desk. she couldn’t help it. he was breathtakingly handsome. she watched as he typed on his computer before they locked eyes. she immediately looked away as he face grew hot. she’s been caught. how embarrassing. as she was finishing signing the last few paper she had left, a door opened revealing another attractive man. his hair was blonde and fluffy and he almost resembled a cat with big boba eyes. what is this place? she asked herself.
“y/f/n?” the blonde man called out. she instinctively raised her hand, gaining his attention. he flashed her a toothy smile. “hello ma’am i’m jungwon and i’ll be taking you to the room where you’ll have your appointment.” he said, signaling her to follow. she got ip nervously, following after him. maybe she was at the wrong place but how could she be since everything was normal but why was everyone so attractive so far. it felt like a fever dream.
“here i can take those papers for you and get them into our system.” jungwon said holding his hand out to take the clipboard and so she gave them to him. she followed his further down the hallway, making turns here and there until they finally got to room 609.
he opened the door for her to walk in first and she thanked him. as she entered the room there was a little couch and chairs set up as well as a little desk that sat in the corner. “you can have a seat on the couch and he’ll be here shortly but in the meantime would you like anything to drink?” he said walking back towards the door. “a water would be fine.” she said sweetly and he smiled and nodded before leaving her alone in the room.
she studied the room more, looking at all the paintings of abstract art that were hung up. she was so immersed with looking around she didn’t hear the knock on the door or someone walking in either. she looked around some more before turning around to be met with a tall, lean gentleman with red hair walking towards the desk in the room. she screamed from being surprised by the sudden appearance of him which caused him to laugh.
“sorry miss y/n i knocked and didn’t a reply so i let myself in and you were looking at the painting so i didn’t want to interrupt,” he said honestly as he sat at his desk. “so what brings you in today?” he asked, taking his glasses off and loosening his tie. she took this time to sit down in the chair that was situated in front of his desk. she admired his features as she spoke. “i just got out of a toxic long term relationship and just haven’t been myself so i wanted to seek help,” she stated, her eyes tailing over his facial features. his eyes stared deep into hers as they made eye contact for a minute before he started jolting down words onto his notepad, “go on,” he said and so she did. she vented for what felt like forever.
her heart still aching for a man who never cared about her for one bit. tears brimmed in her eyes once more as she spoke. letting her soul pour out as heeseung continued to listen and write into his notepad. “have you tried finding something to keep your mind off him?” he asked and she shook her head. what else could she have possibly done to keep her distracted from the fact that her heart still yearns for him. “well maybe i could help?” he said and stood up from his desk and walked to stand behind her. “is it okay if i may give you a massage?” he asked. she was confused, what kind of therapy session was this? she thought but nonetheless she accepted it.
she felt his big but warming hands on her shoulders, massaging them. the pads of his thumbs had enough pressure to hit the depths of her muscles, easily relaxing her body. she melted into his touch, heaving out a loud sigh. “you’re really good at this,” she complimented and he hummed in response. soon his hands trailed to the back of her neck, hitting all the right spots. she never knew how tense her body was. she was so immense in the massage she didn’t feel his hands trail down to her breast, caressing them ever so gently that it felt too normal.
his hands soon trailed down to the hem of her pants, slowly sliding down into them and he began to rub small circles on her clitoris. a moan escape from her lips, soon bringing her back to reality. she jumped up from her seat, turning to face him as her face was flushed from the certain action. “w-what are you doing?” she asked, hugging herself as she stared at him. he chuckled, a sweet smile on his face as he looked down at her.
how could he be laughing right now? like he didn’t just assault her? what kind of therapist is he? so many thoughts were running in her mind. she didn’t understand what she had gotten herself into. she needed to leave. she was about to walk passed him but was stopped in her tracks. “you have no clue what you signed up for do you?” he said, cutting her off and standing in front of her. her breath hitched in her throat, feeling so small in this moment.
he took a step forward, causing her to step back. that cycled continued until her back hit his desk. he leaned forward, placing both his hands on the sides of her as he cornered her. “you do know what this place is don’t you?” he asked once more, his eyes low and darkened with what she assumed was lust. she watched as he licked his lips and his gaze fall. she looked to where his eyes had wondered and it was towards her breast. she immediately covered herself, earning another chuckle from him. “where am i exactly?” she asked, trying her best to change the subject and find a way to escape from this. “sex therapy,” he said plainly, “did you not read the forms you signed or the website you signed up for?” he said, grabbing her by her waist and hosting her up onto his desk.
she couldn’t believe what she heard. why on earth would she sign up for this? she blames the alcohol. drunk y/n must’ve been horny and out her mind to sign up for something like this. “you’re more than welcome to continue your session or we could end it here,” he added as he stared into her eyes, looking for the answer he would need.
she stared at him for a moment, taking in his features. he was a handsome young lad. she’d be a fool to miss up on this opportunity. fuck it. she thought and grabbed his face and smashed her lips onto his.
they kissed passionately. their lips intertwined with one another. his hands made their way back upon her waist, pulling her closer as he kissed her so hungrily. he bit her bottom lip, gaining a soft whine from y/n. he took the opportunity to slide his tongue into her open caven and explore the wonders of her mouth. their tongues fought for dominance with the sloppiness of their saliva dripping from their mouths, ultimately heeseung won the battle.
his hands soon found their way to the bottom hem of her shirt, in a swift motion he pulled it off her, breaking the kiss to stare at her body. she took this time to catch her breath, her face hot and flustered from their heated makeout sesh. she noticed his eyes were staring at her now exposed body so she covered herself, now feeling a little insecure. heeseung shook his head, removing her arms and placing a small kiss on her forehead, “don’t hide yourself, you’re beautiful baby,” he said softly, making her heart swoon. he took the time to take in in her every features. admiring every inch of her as he thought she was crafted so heavenly just for him to take.
soon he took off his shirt exposing his well defined toned muscular body. her gaze fell down, taking in his physique. his abs defined and scrumptious to look at and his toned muscular arms and hands were just a treat. she wanted him to absolutely wreck her. her eyes soon trail down to his crotch, seeing the ever growing bulge that was prominent in his pants, asking to be let free. she took this time to rub his erection through his pants, earning herself a groan out of him. she watched as his lustful eyes darkened with a desire that she could not resist.
he stripped her out of the rest of her clothes, leaving her bare as she sat on his desk. the cold air from the room sent chills down her spine.
she watched as he kneeled down in between her legs, now at eye level with her dripping core. “already wet and we barely did anything,” he said, his voice low and deep. she couldn’t help but give in. this was a once and a lifetime opportunity for her to get her guts rearranged by someone as handsome as he was and he wanted it just as much. even though she knew deep down that this was his job to do, she couldn’t help but to think that he was all for her because in this very moment it felt so surreal.
he began to place chastise kissed on her inner thighs, nipping at the skin here and there as he left love bites all over them. teasingly making his way to her dripping core but never touching her there. her whines became uncontrollable, she desperately wanted to be touched oh so badly. “please..” she muttered at, eyes brimming with tears as she pleased with the man. he looked up at her, seeing the effect he had on her only boosted his ego even more. “beg for it.” he said sharply, now rubbing small circles onto her clitoris just enough to edge her on but not enough to give her full control. she started to grind against his hand, heeseung laughed sinisterly, removing his hand as she cried out from the lost of contact. “you’re not getting it that easily baby, i said beg for it.” he stated with a strictness in his voice that made her wanted him even more than before.
she caved in, letting her pride aside and begged for it. “please touch me… daddy fuck my tight little cunt please!” she pleaded, crying for his touch. a sly smile appeared on his face, satisfied from what he had heard, “as you wish.” and with that, he answered her plea. he licked slowly between her folds up, his tongue darting in and out of her cunt and lapping up all her juices that dare threaten to spill out. her hands travel to his red locks, grabbing a handful as she holds him closer. she felt elastic, feeling his tongue fuck her pretty little cunt.
he devoured her like she was his last meal. eating her out with such delight. he took two of his digits, plunging them deep inside of her, curling them with every thrust, hitting all the right spots.
she threw her head back in pleasure as he continued to please her, making her toes curl. she felt a familiar sensation in the pit of her stomach, the squelching sounds of him finger fucking her and him sucking loudly on her cunt along with her uncontrollable moans feeled the room. how does he even know how to do this. she has never been ate out like this before, not even by her ex boyfriend jaehyuk. this sensation was unfamiliar with her, she couldn’t hold it any longer as he fucked into her much harder now, his fingers massaging a certain spot in her she didn’t even know was their. he body slowly grew weak from the overwhelming pressure that built up from all this pleasure she was receiving. her more grew more and more incoherent with every moment of him worshiping her and giving her just what he knew she need, a good fuck to take her mind off things.
heeseung looked up at her, watching how close he was getting her. his pants grew tight, his erection hurting from being so confined in his trousers. “cum for me,” he said and she did exactly that, screaming as she came undone in his mouth. he gagged a bit as her squirt hit the back of his throat but nonetheless he didn’t stop until her body gave out and fell onto his desk.
she laidback there a moment, never moving as she tried to regain herself from being overstimulated. he stood up and watched as she took a moment to catch her breath. “how. did. you. even. know. to. do. that.” she said in between breaths as she collected herself. “i just know how to please a woman, that’s all. but we’re not done yet. we still have ten minutes to spare,” he said, she pushed herself up onto her elbows to meet his gaze only to be met with his lower half exposed. she watched as he stroked his big and girthy member. her eyes widen, there was absolutely no way that he was going to fit that monster of a cock inside of her. “what’s with the face, are you scared?” he asked, stroking his erection. she shook her head no, she accepted the challenge and who knows, she’ll probably like it. “good girl now bend over that desk for me,” he said sternly and she obliged. she got up and stood before him, soon turning around with her back facing him as bent over his desk. he smirked at how obedient she was. he liked this, usually his patients never lasted this long but she was a different breed and he loved every moment of it. he then spat onto his hands and stroked it on his throbbing cock before aligning himself with her entrance. she braced herself for what was to come, her hands gripping onto the edge of his desk as she felt his cock tap her cunt a few times before he slowly entered her.
her face scrunched up in pain as she felt his tip finally slid in. he sucked in a breathed as her cunt sucked him in. he took his time with her, slowly inching his member in and giving her time to adjust to his size until he was fully inside her. he waited a moment, not moving as he didn’t want to hurt her and to give her time to get use to the stretch.
her insides her a little as his cock stretched her tight little cunt open. she felt every inch of his girthy member inside her as her walls contracted around him. “p-please move,” she whispered out and so he did. he slowly but sure pull out enough, leaving just the tip in before plunging back into her at a decent pace. that went on for a few minutes until her heard her moan, indicating that she was okay and he could up the pace.
he began to fuck into harder and deeper, each thrust earning a scream fro her as she felt him member hit that familiar spot again. her walls contracted with each thrust, hugging his member tightly. she couldn’t help but feel that overwhelming feeling again, but this time she let loose, squirting as she felt his tip abuse her gspot. the sound of wetting squelching noises and skin clapping filled the room once more. she felt so good around him and he couldn’t even deny it. this was by far the best cunt he’s ever been in and it drove him crazy.
he dugged into her like crazy, he didn’t even know what had came over him but he just went bonkers. he pulled her close to him, grabbing her by her neck and choking her as he fucked her standing up. she cried out in pleasure. why does this feel so good. she thought.
“fuck! you’re so fucking wet for me baby. look at you squirting all over daddy’s dick. you like that don’t you?” he growled into her ears. she couldn’t help herself but to gasp as the grip on her neck tightened. she was loving every second of this. she didn’t care that she was losing oxygen in this moment because alk she could think about was the feeling of him fucking her so good.
heeseung soon felt him coming to his climax, he was a few stroke away from coming undone. he pushed her back onto the desk, and hammered his fat cock into her as her body went limp and her moans were now just shots of breaths as she tried so hard to catch a breath but found it difficult as he was rearranging her insides. “fuck i’m going to cum.” he moaned out, his thrusts getting sloppy as he was about to explode. he pulled out and stroked his member, his cum shooting all over her ass cheeks and he finally came undone.
he checked his watch, seeing that their session was now over. “times up. lets get you all cleaned and ready to go.” he said, walking around his desk and reaching inside to grab towels and wipes that were conveniently placed there. he walked back to her as she laid still and began to clean her up. she didn’t know how to feel in this very moment. it was like she changed into a whole new person, completely forgetting why she came here in the first place.
once she was all cleaned, he helped her get dress before tending to himself. “do you do this with all your patients?” she asked, laughing a bit as he helped her put her pants back on. “no actually, i’ve never gotten this far. they’re usually tapped out after i eat them out, you’re the first to go all way through.” he answered honestly. some part of her hoped that it was true because now she has found herself falling for a man she doesn’t even know.
“oh well i’m glad i did haha it was nice, thank you.” she smiled, now grabbing her belongings to prepare to leave. she was about to head to the door but was stopped by him grabbing her hand. she turned around to face him but was taken aback when she felt his lips onto hers. she melted into his kiss, soon wrapping her arms around his neck before he pulled away. “a little something for the road and here’s my card, you should call me sometime,” he said, handing her his business card. she smiled and took it happily. “oh i’m definitely calling you later.” she said as they both laughed together. “well i should get going then, i guess i’ll talk to you later?” she said, the last part being a question because she wasn’t sure if she should or not. “you better and be safe. text me and let me know you made it safely.” he said and with that smiled and made her way out of his office and out the building. who would have known that a silly ole breakup would lead her into the arms of another man.

CREEP
part one
pairings: peeping jungwon x sister’s best friend female reader
warnings: jungwon is a peeping creep watching y/n piss, and shower, masturbation, slight descriptions of intentional self inflicted harm, mentions of blood, slight, but not really, dubcon from reader, oral fem receiving, peeping on her sleeping
overview: jungwon had a weird creepy obsession with peeping on his older sister’s best friend whenever she comes over. he’s done it for so long it became like a game that he didn’t get caught in…. until it wasn’t.
taglist🏷️ : @nayeoniiz
jungwon was sitting in the living room, working on one of his many assignments from university. he was in year one and if he wanted to be the best, he had to earn it. he was so focused on his work that he didn’t realize when his sister walked in, accompanied by her best friend y/n. jungwon studies were soon halted by his sister coming into close proximity of him.
“hey wonnie whatcha doing?” his sister asked, breaking his trance from his work. he looked up and his eyes met with both of the girls. a light red glow tinted his cheeks. the girls knew jungwon had a fat crush on y/n and it became apparent that they took joy in teasing him for fun.
to them, jungwon was this sweet little boy, always caught up in his studies. you could always find his face stuffed in a good book. but the reality of it was far more sinister. little did they know how pervy jungwon really was: waiting until the late hours of the night to sneak and creep on y/n at any given moment. there was one summer where y/n was changing into a swimsuit in the bathroom. jungwon was hidden in the bathtub, peeping through the crack on the shower curtain. he watched her undress from her clothes and slide into her bathing suit while he rubbed one out quietly to the scene that unfolded in front of him. no one knew that this ”innocent” boy had a dark, twisted secret and he liked to keep it that way. or so he thought he could.
jungwon was now averting his attention away from the girls, ignoring their teasing looks. “can you guys just leave me be? i’m studying for an important exam coming up,” jungwon said as he began to collect his belongings.
“aww is wonnie going away? you don’t wanna spend time with me anymore?” y/n taunted. she knew exactly how to rile this boy up. jungwon shook his head, quickly grabbing the rest of his things and fleeing from the situation. he ran straight up to his room, closing the door behind him. he leaned his back against the door, taking a few deep breaths trying to calm himself. his trousers felt tight and uncomfortable. he wasn’t surprised to see how visibly hard he was. he couldn’t help it. y/n looked too stunning, her skin unmarked, so beautifully soft. he just wanted to devour her.
he locked his door and made his way to his bed, placing his belongings on the floor next to him. he slid his hands in his pants and underwear, bringing them down to his ankles before grabbing the lotion from the nightstand next to his bed. he had to fix his little problem now.
he squeezed a decent amount of lotion onto his hand and grabbed his throbbing member. the cold sensation from the lotion caused him to hiss as he stroked it, images of y/n flashing in his head. from seeing her naked, her flawless skin being illuminated by the dull bathroom light, from her unknowing sleeping figure’s chest rising and falling with each breath she took, her lips parting with every snore. oh how he adored her. he quickened his pace, firmly stroking his member to every fleeting thought of y/n. he choked on a moan, keeping quiet so no one knew what he did behind closed doors.
then, his imagination took a turn. he started imagining himself stripping her naked, marking up her sweet, soft skin. he thought about how she tasted, what her insides felt like. it felt so good. and he was so, so close. rubbing his thumb against the slit on his tip, he couldn’t contain it any longer. he was reaching his climax. with a final stroke he came hard into his hands, his body convulsing as he muffled a moan, biting hard onto his bottom lip. he could taste something metallic in his mouth. fuck. he thought. he’s bleeding. he quickly wiped the mess he made of himself onto his clothes and took them off, tossing them into his dirty clothes hamper in the corner of his room. he looked into the mirror next to his dresser. his lip didn’t look that bad, but he needed to clean up quickly. he quietly and quickly rushed straight to the bathroom that was down the hall. he did not need to get caught running naked while his sister and y/n were downstairs. he locked himself in the bathroom, taking a nice hot shower to cleanse him of his sins. it felt good having the hot water running down his body. but, oh how he wished it was y/n’s hands touching him instead.
he washed up using his favorite body soap, then washed his hair afterwards.
after he got out and wrapped a towel around his waist, he stared into the foggy mirror. he wiped it so he could view his lip better, bringing his face close to inspect it better. it was swollen and a small slit was in the middle of his bottom lip. it was very noticeable. how was he supposed to hide this? how will he explain this if he was asked? in that moment an idea popped in his head. he’d fake an injury. he grabbed onto the shower curtain, and fell forward causing a loud bang on impact, knocking the wind out of him. the fall caused him to bite down on his lip and bleed some more.
he heard commotion from outside the door, it had to be the girls. a loud knock soon followed right afterwards. jungwon got up and looked at the scene. the shower curtain and rod was on the floor, trails of blood droplets as well. this was brilliant. the perfect cover up. he opened the bathroom door, drawing gasps from the girls. it was a sight to see. jungwon’s sister look petrified, her brother was bleeding from the mouth, and the bathroom was a wreck. “wonnie, oh my god! are you okay? i’m going to call mom. y/n, please help him!” his sister screamed, scattering away to call their mom.
y/n was at a loss for words. on one hand, she was concerned about the boy’s wellbeing. but on the other hand? she couldn’t help but observe him and inspect his every feature. this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a wet and bloody, half naked jungwon. his abs were glistening in the bathroom light, water mixed with blood dripping down his chin, his wet hair messily sticking to his forehead. and as bad as it sounds, he looked desirable to her right now.
jungwon’s face grew hot, drawing her out of her trance. she didn't realize how long she had been staring. she immediately took action, grabbing a face towel and wetting it with cold water to clean his busted lip. he winced in pain from the contact. “oh, i’m sorry!” y/n exclaimed.
“it’s fine. i’m fine,” jungwon reassured her as she continued to clean him up. jungwon’s sister came upstairs to let them know their mama won’t be back until later tomorrow morning, she’s working an overnight shift at the hospital tonight. “so it’s just us tonight?” y/n asked and his sister nodded. “yeah, i’m in charge and mom said to just clean the afflicted area and ice it,” she added, handing him an ice pack. he took it and put it on his lip, quickly thanking them both before heading to his room to get dressed and finish with his studies.
after a while, he checked the clock: 10pm. i should probably head to bed soon, he thought. as was getting ready to head to bed, he heard commotion outside his door. he cracked it slightly open and saw y/n standing there, already dressed in her pajamas and heading towards the bathroom. a sinister smile appeared on his face as he quietly tiptoed out his room and walked in the direction of his sister’s room, peaking in. his sister was sound asleep in bed. it was showtime baby. he quietly made his way to the direction of the bathroom, peering into the keyhole as his eyes landed on y/n. he watched as she slid her shorts down and sat on the toilet, his own shorts now growing tight around him. he watched as she wiped herself, pulled her clothes up and washed her hands before he quickly fled back into his room. he couldn’t risk getting caught like this. he closed his door softly and waited for her to pass by. he heard her footsteps creeping down the hallway, but they stopped right in front of his door. he panicked, but didn’t dare to make a sound.
a soft knock was heard from the other side. at first he ignored it, sliding into his bed and under the covers. “jungwon are you awake?” y/n called out to him, but he didn’t respond. he kept quiet, hoping she would leave soon. but then the doorknob jingled, twisting and the door creaked open. jungwon felt his heart pounding. oh no oh no. he thought. she was coming in. he turned his back to the door, feigning sleeplessness. he heard her footsteps come closer to his bedside. the mattress dipped behind him. this cannot be happening right now. this had to be a dream.
he felt her small hand resting upon his arm and her breath dangerously close to his ear. “i know you’re asleep, but today is the first time i’ve actually seen you outside of that nerdy facade you have,” she whispered into his ear. it sent shivers down his spine. he felt her hand snake under his shirt, her fingertips running against his abs. “i’ve never knew such a sweet boy like you was so beautifully built. it has to be from those taekwondo lessons you’ve been taking,” she added, her hands now playing with the hem of his shorts.
his member throbbed painfully, craving so badly to be touched. he couldn’t hold back any longer. he grabbed her hand, causing her to yelp from the sudden action. he turned to face her, examining her facial expressions. they both stared at one another intensely. “you don’t know how long i’ve wanted to do this,” he said, crashing his lips onto hers. it was rough but passionate. he spent so long, longing for this moment and here it finally was. he never believed in miracles until now. their lips danced amongst each other. her hands now snaking around his neck to bring him closer. he wrapped his arms around her waist, flipping himself on top of her. he trailed kissed down her jaw to her neck, sucking and nipping at her skin. he waited so long for this, he wantedㅡ no he needed to leave his mark. he wanted the world to know that he finally bagged y/n after all these years of pining for her. he left so many love bites on her skin before he moved to rid her of her shirt, trailing more kisses down her body. he took one of her breasts into his mouth, sucking and swirling his tongue gently on her nipple as he squeezed the unoccupied one with his free hand. small whines escaped from her lips, riling him up even more. he alternated between each breast, edging her on before trailing more marks down her abdomen. he licked a small streak down her navel until he reached the hem of her pants.
he paused and looked up at her, a silent glance for any sign of hesitation. she looked down at him, her breath hitching in her throat as she did so. “please wonnie..” she heaved out. a switch flipped inside his head. he didn’t know what came over himself, but he soon stripped her out of her shorts and underwear, teasingly kissing and sucking on her inner thighs. soft moans escaping her lips. “all those years of you teasing me,” jungwon rasped out against her skin. “now look at who's on the other end.” kissing close to her core, but never touching her there, was driving y/n crazy. she never knew there was a dark side to the kid she grew up with. teasing him all those years only for her to end up being the fool.
she wanted him to touch her so bad. “please wonnie, touch me!” she pleaded with him in a whispered yell.
he smirked, “as you wish princess.” he then licked between her flaps, she shivered from the warmth of his tongue on her dripping wet core. he licked up her juices that threatened to leak out. his tongue dancing on her clitoris. the sensation was magical to y/n. she intertwined her fingers into his hair, grabbing chunks of it as she buried his face deeper into his core. she had never felt this way before. it was all new to her as it was to jungwon. despite the fact that they were both virgins, jungwon seemed experienced in this field. he sucked gently on her clit, plunging two fingers into her core. her back arched from the pleasure. he plunged his fingers deep inside her, curling them as he thrusted them. his moves were precise, accurately hitting all the spots she didn’t know she had. yher moans grew louder with each movement, echoing throughout the room, but she didn’t care. it felt too good. how was he so good at this?
he quickened his pace, bringing her closer to her high as her body started shaking, a knot forming in the pit of her stomach and stretching throughout her body. it was exhilarating, her body trembling with every breath she took. she felt his fingers plunge into the depths of her insides, loving the feeling of how he rubbed her sweet spots. “oh wonnie… i’m gonna-,“ her sentence was cut short by a loud whined out moan of pleasure. her body jolting from the overstimulation, feeling his two digits speed increasing as he finger fucked her through her orgasm. she came hard into his mouth, her juices flowing all over his face as he kept his pace, licking up all her delicious juices. her toes curled as she rode out her high. her body shook from the remaining overwhelming pleasure. as she came down from her orgasm, jungwon placed a final kiss on her clit, peering his head up to make eye contact with her. “how was it, princess?” he asked sitting up. he made direct eye contact as he took his two digits and put them in his mouth, licking up the remainder of her juices off his fingers. she watched intensely, her body craving him more. “phenomenal,” she said honestly. she watched as he took off his shirt and then used it to clean her off before helping her get dressed. “you should probably head back. i’m sure my sister is up now from all the commotion,” jungwon teased, smiling widely knowing he had finally fulfilled one of his many fantasies. she nodded in agreement, pushing herself off his bed and wobbling to the door making jungwon laugh. he found it cute that she could barely walk straight just from the head he gave. he felt accomplished with himself.
right before she left she turned to face him, “wonnie, we should do this more often,” she shyly stated and jungwon’s smile held a dark vibe. it both frightened y/n, yet turned her on. she really liked this side of him.
“princess, this is only the beginning of something beautiful,” he said and with that she left his room, shutting the door behind her. when she got back to her best friend’s room, she noticed that she hadn’t woken up at all. guess she wasn’t loud enough after all. and with that she headed straight to bed, not knowing jungwon was once again creeping on her as she slept. you’re finally mine, y/n. he thought as he started at her sleeping through the crack of the door.
