WHAT A DEBUT ! S.COUPS @ MET GALA 2025 for HUGO BOSS
sometimes i randomly remember how insane maggie stiefvater was for making ronan lynch—a man that can create reality—a man of god, when he himself is a god of a man. then to take this man and have him be not only in love with, but a literal soulmate of a man named adam. parrish. adam parrish. who, mind you, lives above ronan's very own place of worship. and is the namesake of the first of mankind that the bible says god made from the literal dust of the ground (adam parrish: comes from nothing, hair "dusty" in color) and appoints him to care for the garden of eden (adam parrish: sacrifices himself to ronan's sentient forest). then has adam viewing ronan as a god and ronan saying "maybe he dreamt (created)" adam???? like who just fucking writes that and goes about their life?
Woah bro okay, this is so interesting to me.
I actually don’t know who I agree with more. Richard Gansey would have been the obvious choice, but once the third book hit, it felt like Adam had more control with the situation than Gansey ever had. I constantly think about how Gansey and Adam are so similar yet so different and that’s why they argue so much.
(possible spoilers ahead idk how much ppl have read)
honestly i think there's an argument for Ronan being the leader too. everything always comes back to Ronan. Cabeswater comes back to Ronan. Noah comes back to Ronan. Blue and trees comes back to Cabeswater and Ronan. Ganseys death? the ley line, the source of Ronans power. Adam's deal with Cabeswater? Ronan. to me Ronan is the driving force that keeps TRCs plot moving. without Ronan there is nothing. Ronan could never be removed from the story because Ronan is the story. to borrow a phrase, depending on where you start the story it started with Ronan Lynch. and while Ronan never really leads the group per se, everything comes back to Ronan in the end. Ronan is connected to it all. Ronan is the driving force underneath the entire story, and all its moving pieces. and while it's still very easy to say it's Gansey and his merry men, there's a significant argument to make for Ronan and his merry men.
One of the things I love most about Gansey (and there’s many many things) is that you see him together with Blue and you look at their heartbreaking, beautiful, funny, one of a kind dynamic together and you think “Ohhh nobody is doing it like Blue and Gansey, I love them more than anything!!”… and then you look a metre to his left and you see him with Ronan and they have a heartbreaking, beautiful, funny, one of a kind dynamic together and you think “Ohhh nobody is doing it like RONAN and Gansey, I love them more than anything!?” and then you look a metre to his right and see ADAM-
lets be honest, even if he is not your bias, HE IS
