This scene strikes me much harder now knowing more regarding Bill and Euclydia, I imagine when he saw the world around him burst into flames it took him back. Τhe sheer terror in being caught up in such a scene once again is what made him reach out and cry for help

It's reminiscent to what happened to Euclydia. That must have been terrifying to relive in those moments. To put it more blunt, a death that calls back to a severe childhood trauma as he most definitely thought he was going to die in this moment. That's awful
