The duo strips down to acoustic guitar and keyboard for a strikingly intimate set, illuminating their close harmonies that tangle like garlands.

When you lose weight, suddenly everyone is fine telling you how good you now look.
Meaning they knew you were fat, but knew not to tell you. But they always knew.
Got laid off the other day.
I used to think that I was only a social drinker.
But I’m quickly finding out otherwise.
Running
I'd describe myself as a reluctant runner. As in I do think it's relatively fun, but a lot of things have to be right for me to do so. For one, there has to be light. My anxiety of getting robbed increases when it's at night. So I'll only run at night if I'm feeling fat and want to squeeze a run in. Two, it can't be wet. My biggest fear is twisting an ankle because that can set you back weeks. If I experience some sort of ankle injury, I'd have to swim for cardio. And ugh swimming. Three, where I'm running has to be fairly straight. For whatever reason, it's easier in my head to run in a straight line than it is to run in a circle. I honestly don't think there's scientific facts to support that, but it's like a mental block I have. Luckily I live and work in a business area of SoCal. And it's easy to meet these conditions if I run after work: light out at 4:30ish, it hardly rains, and everything's straight. Which is why I've been able to run 11 out of the 19 days this month. It would've been more, but it's been raining recently. If the rain keeps up, I'll probably look into a gym. Anyway, I ran a PR for the mile today. And I don't think I've ever experienced a runner's high. But I think today was kind of close to it.
Beyoncé hot take
Album of the Year travesties of the last 8 years, unranked: 1989 over To Pimp a Butterfly Morning Phase over Beyoncé (s/t) Raising Sand over In Rainbows River: The Joni Letters over Graduation
To me, Adele beating Beyoncé isn’t even remotely close to any of those. If Beyonce lost to Bieber, I’d get it. But she lost to Adele – someone who is good and can actually sing (even though her George Michael tribute was trash).
And if we’re being honest, I don’t think Beyonce’s album was even that good. I kind of liked her sister’s album more – shoutout to Solange.
Started talking to this girl. It's going well. She casually mentions she's a huge Ducks fan. I don't know what to say. I can already foresee the disappoint in her face when I utter these four words to her – "I'm a Kings fan" And so I don't say it. And now I'm stuck and awake at night thinking about it. Yep.
the soundtrack is also really good
the story isn't much to write about. but it's crazy, balls to the wall, fun. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
like chill im like that with everyone.
I don't think I'll ever comprehend how the US dropped two nukes on Japan.
The Dark Side of Pokemon Go
I think about this tweet every now and then whenever I’m feeling down on myself.
Because working on myself is really hard for me. Like I see other people working, striving, succeeding and it’s like I’m sure it’s just as hard for them, but they’re making progress whereas I feel like I’m not.
I’ve always had this mentality where if I saw someone that was better than me, I chalked it up to “oh they have something I don’t.” Whether their family had more resources (money) or they were gifted genetically (race, height).
And while I’m sure there’s something to that, I know that I can’t let that thought come into my head or else I’ll succumb to my old apathetic, lethargic ways.
And it’s such a struggle to stop myself from thinking like that because there’s all kinds of stats that can make you feel like shit. As in, if you’re white and all things are equal, you’re x-amount more likely to do such and such. Or if you’re this height, you’re x-percentage more likely to so and so.
(on a side note: it’s fitting that i subconsciously picked race and height as my limiting factors as a short filipino man (is that redundant?))
And to be honest, I don’t think I’m making progress. Maybe if I write about it and put it out in the world (ehhh not many people are going to read this) then it’ll help motivate me to better myself.
i feel like most people have dumb, insensitive thoughts.
and what keeps us from saying them is the fear of people calling us out on it.
i think that’s why twitter is interesting because you can create a community in which your dumb insensitive thoughts are relayed to other dumb, like-minded people. and so you go from thinking that no one thinks this way, to thinking a lot of people think this way. (a hivemind, if you will)
and so now you’re posting all this dumb shit online, thinking it’s normal to think the orlando shooting was staged.
Reading through some old tweets about movies. Here's an update: More of the same: Eternal Sunshine is still a great movie. Jingle All the Way is still the best Christmas movie. Gigantic, regardless if you can see Zooey naked, is still a terrible movie. Different stance: I've also grown fond over Mark Wahlberg. Maybe I'm just a sucker for buddy cop movies, but The Other Guys is a really underrated comedy. Hugh Jackman made like 4 more Wolverine movies after that tweet. I hated the Veronica Mars movie. Just hated. So glad I didn't donate to that hot garbage.
I rarely, if ever, sound smart.
some quick thoughts
a lot of my friends are bernie supporters. and it seems like the general sentiment among them is that instead of voting for hillary, they’ll abstain. and you know power to you.
but our voting system is dumb. it’s a two person race regardless of what the green party tells you. so please, vote for who you think is better.
because at the end of the day, we’ll have one of them. so voting for neither is short sighted.
