The Holiday (2006) dir. Nancy Meyers
Am I only one who is seeing the way Ted’s outlook and his folksy charm changed IMMENSELY.
When I look at this gif set all I can think about is the first episode and “the incident with the sparkling water” and how much sadder he looks in here… oh
rewatching ted lasso and i think i just pinpointed the exact second trent crimm started crushing on ted lasso (s1, e3, around 16mins)
and then he just spends the rest of the episode making heart eyes at him and being stupidly charmed it’s truly really so pathetically gay of him <3

Actually, he responds well to positive reinforcement. That’s my wheelhouse! TED LASSO — 1.02 “Biscuits”.
“Ms. Welton, I was a bit skeptical, but after hearing you speak in there, I’m excited by your choice. Coach Lasso is just what we need.” | 1x01 Pilot
your turn, Swifties.
Hmmmm
nothing weve posted are even firecrackers compared to this fucking atomic bomb of a post
Was he thinking about his father when he said this?
I mean all of his lines gain more meaning when you know that he is depressed and was in pain because of how his father died….
I love that ted lasso shows a side of mental health that isn't shown a ton on tv. And by that I mean it's not some weird romanticized depression and its also not ridiculously terrible everything-in-this-persons-life-is-terrible. Teds apartment gets a bit messy during season two. He lashes out a couple times on people who dont deserve it, but not in a big bombastic way.
Idk, i just appreciate that they show that people struggling can look like theyre fine. They can sometimes hold down a job, have friends, go through the day seemingly okay. But they are still sick, and they still deserve treatment.
As a teenager, i always figured i only needed help if i looked like the most extreme case of depression, or if my whole life crumbled around me and literally only then would i be deserving of therapy. So i didnt get help. But if id known i could get help just living a slightly better life or just to learn a bit more about myself, it mightve saved a lot of trouble and struggle.
“For tomorrow, I was wondering– I mean, it could be a terrible idea. Would you want to come work with me for, like, the whole day and just join me for meetings and stuff? It could be tremendously boring. That would be amazing.” | 1x09 & 2x03
