The distinguish of W/P and W/R

W/R is abbreviation acronymof water repellent. The abbreviation of W/P is waterproof. Water repellent is realized by coating a layer on the fabric surface, to prevent the easily penetration of water. Functioning as lotus leaf, it makes water forms droplets on its surface. But it is not really water proof. If water remains on it for a long time, it can ooze inside. The distinction between polyester taffeta, polyester pongee, nylon taffta, Taslon

1. From the raw material:

  Polyester taffeta is made of 100 polyester. And it is applied to make lining. The polyester taffeta is also made of 100% polyester. And it is in low grade but with many varieties. Nylon fabric is the nylon cloth which we often call. And it is made of chinlon. Taslon is textile cloth which is knitted of pure nylon yarn.

  2. From the knitting method:

The knitting method of polyester taffeta and nylon taffta are the same, which belong to one needle up, one needle down knitting method.

Taslon is all belonged to the one needle up, one needle down knitting method. But its warp direction is special thick. And its thickness is the twice of that in the fabric weft direction. Taslon in the cotton cloths is called as grosgrain

Polyester taffeta and nylon tafftan are similar in the touch feelings, while it is soft to touch the polyester pongee. But it is very acerbity to touch the talson.

The weft and warp recognition of common seen fabrics

First, if the distinguished fabric has edge and the direction parallel to the fabric edge is the warp direction. The other side is weft direction.

Second, sizing is the direction of warp direction, while the weft direction is with no sizing.

Third, generally dense fabric is in warp direction. Not too dense fabric is in weft direction.

The composition of fabric structure

Knitted fabric is knitted in the following steps. First, yarns are twisted into loops in a certain order. Then the loops are bunched and knotted to form fabric. When the woven fabric is affected by external tension, such as transverse tensile, the weft tension would increase, the curve degree would decreases while the warp curve degree increase. It the transverse tensile does not stop, the weft yarn would completely stretch straight and the fabrics present transverse contraction. The difference of knitted fabric and woven fabric also lie in that the weft yarn and warp yarn of woven fabric can not interchange to each other.

The knitted fabric can extend in every direction. And it has good elasticity. Because the knitted fabric is formed by cavernous loops, it has excellent permeability. Besides, it is soft to touch.

The characteristics of common used fiber

Cotton fiber. Cotton fiber is fine and soft. It is a kind of short fibers with different length.

Hemp. Hemp is very hard to feel. It is in faint yellow. But its single fiber is difficult to distinguish.

Fur. Fur is coarser and longer than cotton fiber. Its length is between 60 to 120 mm. In milk white, it is plump to feel and its fiber is crimped. Besides, it has elasticity.

Silk. Silk is a long and even long fiber. Its Luster is downy and soft to touch. Besides, it has fine fineness and scroopy handle. It presents light yellow in colour. A grain of cocoon filament length is: 600-1200 mm.

Lustrous rayon. Lustrous rayon represents white with dazzling luster. It is soft, but not fresh and cool as silk. It has scroopy handle. But its Wet strength is much lower than the dry strength.

Polyester. Polyester is bright and pretty. Besides, it has big strength and good elasticity. It is also not easy to cause deformation.

 Chinlon. Chinlon has candle light, big strength and elasticity. Compared to polyester, it is easy to cause deformation.

Silk. Its mesh is bright and soft. Besides, its luster is bright while it is frivolous and elegant. Cotton fabrics. Cotton fabric is lustrous just like the natural cotton. It is soft but not smooth. Its gray fabric has cotton mote and other tiny impurities.

Wool fabric. The wool face of worsted wool fabric is clean and neat. The wool fabric is clear in texture, soft in luster. It has good elasticity and slippery to touch.

Woolen wool fabric is thick, soft, furry and close. It has good elasticity, fat light.

The hemp fabric is hard and cool

Polyester fabric is cool to feel. Besides, it has good elasticity. It is also not easy to wrinkle. The polyester is shiny under sunshine.

 Nylon fabric. It is more slippery to feel than polyester fabric. But it is easier to wrinkle than polyester.  

Acrylic fabric. Acrylic fabric is fluffy to feel, with good scalability. It is very similar to wool fabric, but not Invgorating as wool fabric.

Whalen fabric. Whalen fabric is similar to cotton fabric, but not as fine as cotton fabric. Its luster is not bright.

Due to the adoption of weft satin weave, the weft float of sateen shall appear on the fabric surface. It presents the style of silks and satins. The fabric surface is bright and clean. The sateen is soft to touch and lustrous.
