6:45 sunrise in kansas. murmuring birds for miles & miles looking like faded clouds way back there.

i drove for 20 hours & sam periodically touched my leg or held my hand or massaged my neck or back or head & everything was beautiful & we saw towns that were the same over & over again in kansas & in oklahoma & then we got to new mexico & it was new & incredible & we listened to the mamas & the papas there. we got close to taos & drove thru huge snowy mountains & listened to blue & saw deer & a glistening lake. it is cold but we can be in t-shirts because the sun is so bright & warm. taos is good, maybe i’ll tell you abt it later.

idk what to say but i’m rly happy & in love & looking forward to driving to new mexico w/ people i love to see more people i love & spend thanksgiving & sam’s birthday there. & then in december going to my parents’ house & dc & nyc w/ him oh boy.

he said something nice last nite when i asked him how he felt last year when i saw him when i returned from living in san francisco for three months & i was in love with someone else. he said, “i think i was just happy that the world didn’t wait for me.”

& now we’re here & it’s weird & beautiful how this all has worked out. i think we always knew it would.
