Heyo I didn’t really share a lot of art last year so I wanted to start 2026 by sharing some sketches for the big project I’ve been working on this year: a Mythology Tarot Deck. I tried a bunch of styles before finally finding one I liked and I’m a third of the way done so here they are! Hope you like them ☺️

The High Priestess - Isis (major goddess originating from Egyptian mythology and worshipped throughout the ancient Mediterreanean)

The Empress - Pachamama (mother goddess from Incan mythology still revered by many modern Andean cultures)

The Emperor - Tyr (god of justice and war in Germanic and Norse mythology)

The Chariot - Sköll and Hati (Giant wolves who chase the sun and the moon in Norse mythology)

The Hanged Man - Prometheus (Titan and creator of humanity from Greek mythology)

Temperance - The White Buffalo Calf Woman (prophet from Lakota mythology)

The Devil - Coyote (common figure in many North American Indigenous mythology and folklore)

The Sun - Amaterasu (sun goddess from Shinto mythology)

PS please note that when I use the words mythology and folklore I mean them as a collection of stories from the culture and oral traditions of a specific people, and am absolutely not trying to insult or diminish anyone's culture or faith. If I do end up offending someone, please let me know right away because the last thing I want is to disrespect someone's beliefs out of ignorance. Mythology and folklore are a lifelong passion of mine, and this project is a way for me to express my love for these stories and their importance to both their cultures of origin and humanity as a whole. I've been doing a lot of research to make my illustrations accurate and respectful, but while I have three shelves of books about mythology and folklore and also the entire internet, I could have absolutely missed something or been insensitive without realizing it. So please let me know if I messed up!
