Come one Come all to the Circus
@fandomvariety
“Come one, Come all! To the traveling Cirque d’Effrayant! A show of amazing feats! Impossible feats!” The redhead shouted as he walked through town, trying to bring attention to his circus. He wasn’t very tall and he was dressed rather simply. However, a large burn scar over his eye stood out. Certainly an identifiable feature.
The others were getting the tents ready as well as preparing for their acts.
“The first showing will be in two days! Don’t be shy and see the show of a lifetime!”
The king clapped and stood up when the last performer finished, the entire court clapped and everyone had smiles on their faces. Triss introduced the king to the performers.
“This is Caelan, the ringleader of the group,” she said and went down the line to introduce everyone.
The king nodded. “That was truly magnificent,” he said eagerly. “Where is your next stop?” he asked.
Caelan took a sweeping bow as he was introduced to the king. He was relieved that everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. His group certainly blew this performance out of the water. One of their best.
“Oh thank you, my lord! That means a mighty lot.” He grinned from ear-to-ear. “Ah, we don’t have one currently if I’m being honest.”
Nyssa had finally escaped from her kidnapper. She had been held captive for months. He had forced her to become a prostitute. Luckily she had been able to take walks, and she came across a circus. She saw the knife thrower practicing, and it stopped her in her tracks. He was the most beautiful man Nyssa had ever seen. She vowed if she could ever get free she would run to the circus. That’s exactly what she did, collapsing in exhaustion in view of the big top.
Kennith looked over when he heard the footsteps. “Are you alright?” He jogged over to the woman, tucking his knives into his thigh holster. “Where’d you come from?” He awkwardly offered his hands to help her up.
“Yeah, I’m alright, I’m sorry. I came from- I don’t even know where I came from. I escaped.”
“Oh ah... umm... Come on. I’ll make you some tea or something.” Kennith rubbed the back of his neck. “You’re safe here with us.”
Nyssa took his hand when he offered it
He lead her to their kitchen area. “Uh take a seat.” He gestured to the table and chairs, putting the kettle down to heat up.
She sits down and wraps her blanket that she stole from her captor tighter around her
“What um brought you here?” He got down some bread. “Um a turkey sandwich, okay? You should eat something too.”
“I was kidnapped, I think I might be able to show you the house if I could get the courage. A turkey sandwich sounds great. I’ll pretty much eat anything right now. I haven’t eaten in weeks probably. I don’t know how long I’ve been gone. I don’t even know what day it is today. I’m Nyssa, by the way.”
“Oh ah... I’m sorry to hear that. Damn, that really sucks. I’m sorry.” He busied himself with making her a sandwich. Once he was finished, he set the plate down in front of her with a warm cup of tea. “Ah, I mean ahhh just focus on relaxing, alright?”
“Yeah, you’re right. I don’t think he knows where I am anyway. I mean he did used to take me for walks down here. But hopefully he won’t bother you.”
“Oh don’t worry about him. We’re pretty good at taking care of problems.” He sat on the corner of the table. “Just make sure you eat up and relax. This is a safe place.” He smiled softly at her.
Caught in the act
It had been years since Lilly had gone to the circus, in fact, she could not remember the last time she went. She had heard that the circus was in tow and that it was supposed to be an amazing show. unfortunately, the tickets were sold out. she sighed as she walked away from the ticket booth. she began to walk along the path a bit. when an idea came to her mind she would sneak in.
Lilly using the skills she had learnt in the army, walked along a bit and smirked when she found a low wall. she glanced around there was nobody about. she took a breath and easily jumped the wall, wincing slightly as she landed on her bad leg “ shit “ she muttered. why was she doing this, it was only a circus… oh yeah cause she was bored and it gave her something to do.
@cirque-freaks
Lilly smiled and laughed in reply as their swords tapped together and then she quickly took a step back and twirld her sword moving in to a defensive position . her eyes trained on to his waitig to see what move he would make. she cocks her head dareing him to aproach
Matheo smiled, circling her a bit, with his sword held defensively in front of him. “Been a while since I’ve done this. I might be rusty.” He lunged forward, striking.
she moved fast and deflected the others attack before lunching in to a fast attack in return, before moving back out his his range “ hmm i may be rustyer than you “
Mathéo chuckled a bit, returning to his defensive stance. “Oh I don’t know. I certainly think I’m a lot rustier.” He shrugged before lunging in for another strike.
“ hmm probably “ she smirked and nodded in agreement .as he lunged for her she decided to block then start an onslaught of attacks on her part , her eyes never leaving him except for a quick glance at the surroundings
Matheo smiled, focusing on defending himself. He was certainly rusty, but he was better than he made it sound. Strong and steady was more his style.
She smirked as he was clearly very good at what he was doing. Managing to keep her on her toes .
Matheo smiled, taking another swing at her. “Well what do you think?” He raised a brow and looked over her face to watch her expressions.
she laughed “ your talented ill give you that “ she said as she continued to swing and block never relenting . it was clear she was enjoying herself “ although your posture could improve , your feet are too close together and your not using your peripheral vision as i literally push you back in to a corner “ she smirked
He chuckled, blocking the best he could. “Well I’m certainly not a fighter. I’m a performer so I’m proud of myself for getting this fair.” He laughed, smiling brightly.
She laughed and nodded “ yeah you did good ”
He smiled happily, nodding. “Well thank you.” He bowed his head to her. “Perhaps you could train me a bit though.”
She nodded and pulled away from him a bit “ yeah perhaps” she said in agreement
He smiled softly, “oh, can I get you anything? Maybe, we should take a break. I can get you some water or juice. A snack?”
She nodded “ yeah that would be great , just water would be nice ” she said softly
“Water sounds good. I’ll get us some.” He smiled, heading off to their kitchen area. He grabbed two reusable bottles of water, returning to her side. “Here we are.”
She smiled and nodded .“ Thank you ” she took the bottle and quickly drank it down not realising just how thirsty she was .
“You’re certainly welcome.” He nodded, smiling softly at her. He took a sip from his own water bottle. “It’s important to stay hydrated.”

Caleb was walking along the street, his daughter had vanished to go have a look around one of the shops at clothes. he carried on walking his cane clipping along the pavement as he looked around at the lifers around him . Some giving a quick glance before looking away. he was heading to the club to check on the ghosts before tonight’s show.
@cirque-freaks
He prepared his ID like he always did and approached the two people at the doors. “Ah hello there. I’d like to go in.” He presented the flyer with his ID to prove he was of age.
the guards looked at him and nodded pushing the door open for him . he was then greeted by a girl in 20s attire welcoming him to the Hollywood ghost club
He bowed his head to the girl. “Ah hello there.” He walked in, looking around the building. Perhaps, he was a bit underdressed for this… he definitely seemed out of place.
The building had an up market look the girl looked at him “ hello , ” she welcomed “ would you like me to take you jacket and things ?”
“Ah um... I tend to travel light. There’s not much to take.” He shook his hoodie from his shoulders and passed it to her. “Um that’s all.” His wallet was crammed into his boot so he was good.

Callie had heard amazing things about the new circus that had just rolled in to town. Her father not so much, he was concerned that the Lifers were neglecting his club in favour of the travelling circus. she could not help but roll her eyes at that. He had sent her to go and scope out the travellers.
it was 20 mins before she assumed the show was starting and she teleported right in to the grounds of the big top ready to watch the the show and to see what the acts could do, she made herself invisible to lifers and had a look around to see what was happening behind the scenes.
Performers were running about mostly dressed and trying to prepare the small, final details. One of the performers, a taller blond man, was carrying a chest of swords to the big performance tent. He wore a blue green suit with simple more natural makeup.
Matheo looked about, raising a brow. Something felt off but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
Callie hummed softly and wondered around a bit more as she watched everyone running around in a hurry . she spotted someone head to the main tent so decided to follow him . she stiffened as he seemed to pause . but decided to follow him anyway curious if he was sensing her or heard something in the distance
Matheo seemed to turn in her direction, tilting his head a bit. “If someone’s watching me, you can come out.” He glanced around, trying to see if he could notice movement. He felt the eyes on him, but had no idea where they could possibly be.
She smiled and moved to stand behind him before becoming visible and tapped his shoulder “ not many people can sense me ” she said in way of greeting
He jumped and whipped around to see who tapped him. He was clearly a bit taken back. “Oh ah? Um, how’d you do that? How’d you get back here?” He looked around. “I mean I just felt like I was being watched.”
She smiled “ hmm magic of course ” she said teasingly flicking her wrist and giving a bow as she rolled her eyes . Callie was wearing a deep purple double breasted jacket that had gold fastens and went down to just above her knees , a pair of dark black jeans , and a pair of black boots .
He raised his brow, looking over her. “Why were you following me then? Why were you watching us?” He set the chest down, never breaking eye contact.
she shrugged “ ohh because i felt like it, and i wanted to see what all the fuss was about “ she said “ thought id come scout the place out “
“And what do you think?” He raised a brow, slowly crossing his arms. “And you are aware that you aren’t supposed to be back here?”
She smiled “ I haven’t seen anything to rave about yet , but I suppose the show is yet to start ” she said with a shrug “ and yes I’m aware , but are you going to stop me ? Call the police ? ” She asked raising an eyebrow with a small playful grin
He nodded, “That’s fair.” At the following questions, he shrugged. “Honestly, I’m not going to do anything. I doubt the police can do anything. I just worry about our funds.” He raised a brow.
She frowned “ your funds , I’m no theif , but I also don’t tend to use money ” she shrugged after all the dead had no need for money .
“Well most people who aren’t thieves don’t go snooping around.” He sighed, shaking his head a bit. “I assure you we don’t intend to overstay our welcome.”
She laughed “ yeah I know , but I’ve never been a theif in my life , well maybe Ive stolen a few hearts through the years ” she said with a pretty smile and a flutter if her eyelashes “ hmm I assumed that , honestly I’m just looking forward to watching the show , and curiosity got the better of me so I snuck back here ”
He nodded, going back to organizing props back stage. “Fair enough, I suppose. Though it’s pretty boring back here. Nowhere near as magical as what happens on stage.”
Callie smiled “ hmm yeah , don’t worry I’ll head back out when the show is due to begin ” she hummed a little and seemingly pulled a small business card out from thin air “ here , maybe you should check this club out while your in town ” she offered him
“A club?” He raised a brow, accepting the card. He looked over the business card. “Is this why you were investigating around here?”
“emm no my father wanted me to do that, me I just like to watch new shows , and meet new people ” she admitted
He nodded, looking over her again. He shrugged and continued the behind-the-screen work. “That’s fair enough. It’s always good to see a show and relax. If you hang around after the show, I’m sure the others would love to meet you.”

A snack?”
@cirque-freaks
