❝ — and i still won’t. ❞ she grinned knowing narcissa was too asleep to be woken up by any noise andromeda would’ve made in her own sleep. even when she rattled around in the kitchen and broke a ceramic tea cup, andie was sure to have woken them up. ❝ maybe one day the person i marry will tell me, unless you actually show signs of consciousness while you sleep tonight. ❞ she ruffled cissa’s hair into their face before taking another sip of her own tea — a milky concoction of earl grey and two sugar cubes. ❝ i didn’t do much, really. haven’t got many friends, you know. ❞ the words weren’t spoken to be pitied, andromeda smiled as she said them. always the introvert, she enjoyed her alone time — plus she wasn’t interested in giving people more reasons to have her family name in their mouths. ❝ read a bit, broke my favorite tea cup, unfortunately. missed you, most of all. what’re your plans today ? we should reach out to bella soon. ❞
even though they never shared a room narcissa had always found their way into andromeda’s, snuggling besides their sister because it was the safest place that she could be. no one knew about the nightmares that narcissa had because she was too prideful to share that information but she had always felt the safest with andie, which was why she found herself at her sister’s flat more than her own most of the time. she rests against her sister now, looking at their cup of tea before eventually untangling herself and taking a sip of their own. “merlin help them,” narcissa says, a wide grin, knowing that someday andromeda would be married because who would be dumb enough not to marry their sister? “i’m kidding. anyone would be lucky to have you.” she thinks very briefly on the conversation she had with rosalind before pushing it away. it was easy being the youngest black there wasn’t nearly enough pressure, she had pitied her elder siblings. “that’s alright,” she finally says with a shrug, “haven’t got many friends myself either,” she bumps her shoulder into andie’s, both of them as sort of the outcasts of the black daughters, while bellatrix was definitely the face of the family- at the very least andromeda had become a healer, but narcissa had taken the unmarked plan, when they had found out that narcissa wanted to work with dragons there was a sense of, what on heaven for? it could have been worse, and they were too far into their career to change it anyway. but when it came to friendships both of them didn’t have very many, narcissa valued loyalty over quantity, and as it may, she followed andromeda wherever she went, wanting to be just like her. “i could fix your teacup.” narcissa finally says, “might not be as perfect but at least it won’t be broken.” she reaches out to pat her sisters cheek, reaching out to grab one of the baked pastries. “i don’t have plans today, surprisingly. also- i missed you more,” she grins, taking a bite of the warm goodness, “might send an OWL to one of the sanctuaries and ask how one of the dragons is doing- but other than that i’ve been scrambling to figure out what to get both bellatrix and rodolphus for their birthdays. what about you?”
