Velant-ei’s Feast Day is a day in February set aside to honour the life and work of the eighteenth Queen of Adal, Velant ei-Adali, who aside from being a generous ruler was known to give extravagant gifts to those she favoured in court in a bid for their affections (the queen was somewhat of a hopeless romantic and would have a new muse added to her long list of potential paramours almost every other week). These days, people still give romantically-inclined gifts, but the interpretation of the holiday has since extended to giving thoughtfully-chosen gifts among close friends as gestures of lasting affection.
