Air Quality Alert

Air Quality Alert for northern Minnesota. Issued by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Spans from 1 PM CST Saturday until 9 AM CST Monday.

Heavy surface smoke from Canadian wildfires will drift south into Minnesota over the next several days. This smoke will initially impact far northern Minnesota early Saturday afternoon and then spread south and east through the rest of the day and into the evening.

Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease(including asthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, should avoid all physical activities outdoors. The general public should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion.

Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution, such as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burning devices. Reduce vehicle trip as much as possible. Keep windows closed overnight to prevent smoke from getting indoors.

Flash Flood Warning (EXPIRED)

Flash Flood Warning issued for Hamilton County and White County in Illinois, and Posey County, Vanderburgh County, Warrick County in Indiana until 8:00 PM CST

Between one to over three inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Rain falling for two to near three inches per hour have been reported in and near Lebanon, Indiana. This has caused high water levels in the Boone County area.

Wildfire Warning

A Wildfire Warning is issued for Jefferson and Wasco Counties in Oregon.

A wildfire is burning around 20 miles northeast of the town of Madras, in Jefferson and Wasco Counties in Oregon.

Currently, it is uncontained, and the fire is still active.

If you live if the area, evacuation is recommended, as wildfires can burn though forest quickly. Make sure you bring loved ones with you, along with pets and other easily affected people with you.

Bring important documents and other personal items of value as well.
