So many artists to talk about and share
Known as the Dudes from Coco, Cocolores are not just two talented musically gifted people they also have this swag and cool persona which follows them along with a look of quirkiness and chic style of their own it all comes together to form what they believe in and what they are trying to create..
I have to admit I have fallen for everything they have offered in terms of music and would love to book them for my own events… Watch this space.. trust me these guys are going to be huge ( already huge in most places around Europe) currently getting massive coverage and respect from a load of creditable dj’s from around the world such as Luciano and Maya Jane Coles just to name drop a few….
Their music is that of urban 90’s house music mixed with soulful funk and vocals which will give you goose bumps…
Currently these guys are signed to Exploited records who are one of the most underrated labels I know off, they need so much more respect for the artists who they are picking up, recently the world is becoming a customised with this label due to huge releases after huge releases consistently smashing all charts possible. With recent releases from claptone to name one..
Cocolores debut EP “Heart Quest” Cocolores continued with their second EP on Exploited called “Vox”. “A peacetime dancefloor weapon that pays homage to traditional house vibes and yet has a fresh sound of today”(Magnetic Magazine). Inspired by Mathieu Kassovitzs classic “La Haine” released in 1995, the duo tried to recreate that atmosphere of empty urban places and focuse on an aesthetic screenplay (http://youtu.be/3BUrRl_BPsI)
After touring all over Europe, playing in spots like Watergate in Berlin, Social Club in Paris, or the beloved Bob Beaman Club in Munich as well as at festivals like Sonar in Barcelona or Springfestival in Graz, the duo keep fascinating crowds all over the world with their unique and outstanding taste in music.
Having planned a second Video, Cocolores are definitely the ones to watch with their upcoming release on Compost Black Label.
Right peeps I will be putting a couple of tracks up over the Easter weekend so keep eyes peeled and ears open I have got some incredible tunes for you guys x

A Mix by an Artist who has taken me back to Summer Vibes
Lying in bed looking at holidays and suddenly a mix is found (a little distracted) has taken me back to summer vibes in some of my first ever experiences of house music!!! The reason why I fell in love Witt the genre and the scene!!!! This Mix at the moment is so fresh, soulful, mystical and urban with some disgusitiingly unreal vocals which definitely add the the whole vibe.... Apologise but this mix at the moment is too good and packed full of treats all the way through it that I don't want to share it :) very selfish but trust me when the time is right i will ascend these pieces of creative speeech on to this very blog for your guys so you can experience what im randomly chatting about here... Definitely taking me on a journey through last experiences and giving me some great ideas for the future for Civilise itself... Anyway enough writing, to follow some other artists which I love and some tracks which is probably why the majority of you are actually reading this. ... Peace and love kids x
Robosonic .. Enough said
Right, I know we are now in the 3rd month of 2013, but I will be doing a little update throughout the year of artists i belive we should be watching out for as they have have something uniquely special about them. The first name im going to be throwing out their is Robosinic. After they entered the industry with a remix of the legendary Dilated Peoples track "worst comes to worst" people just knew that these guys from Germany needed to be taken seriously. Then came along another "the Edge" this had the old Dr Dre anthem involed. These tracks were OFF RECORDINGS two biggest tracks of 2012 which says something. September 2012 also saw a heart-warming Robosonic Remix of a track by the famous jazz-crooner Louie Austen („Never and Ever“) November 2012 saw a Robosonic Remix for Channel X on Oliver Koletzki’s label Stil Vor Talent, which was the beginning of a loose collaboration with the label that at the beginning of 2013 culminated in the release of an original record entitled „Feldrecord Im Zirkus EP“, with remixes by NU and Channel X. This artful EP pays tribute to pianist Laura Weider, who challenged herself to a particular kind of concert during the crazy lifetime of the Berliner Bar 25: the „Longest Concert of a solo artist“ (40 hours) that ended up as an official Guinness World Record. Robosonic managed to tape the whole concert and used samples and field recordings - made by pianist and public alike – to create a club track that catches the weird and emotional atmosphere of this moment. For 2013, you can expect Robosonic to continue their run to the next level, amongst others with a rework of Johnny Corporate‘s Y2K hit „Sunday Shoutin‘“ on Defected (released 11th February), a collaboration with the Exploited act Adana Twins on a label yet to remain secret, a remix of a Kerri Chandler classic on the legendary New Yorker house label King Street Sounds, a remix for Noir Music, another hit on Off Recordings before summer, and much more! Be ready for more creative chaos on a next level, open source inspiration, wild parties, visual workout with love and detail, sweat on the walls, bassy music with a 4/4 heartbeat, hi-tech soul!
out now on hive audio
Another Decent track out at the moment which people may not have heard, specially from this artist as well...
@jackmode
Okay okay this has been out while now, but it is still hasnt got the respect it deserves. This underground-pop-track is very well thought out, and balanced. There is decent breaks, and then some very nice drops. The bassline of the drop isn’t in your face but it definetly makes you want to give it...

In confusing times like these, where my-house-is-your-house-and-what-the-fuck-is-house-anyway, an up-and-coming talent from the lands of the rising sun, driven by passion for deepness and purity of the groove is roaming the cosmos. To gather the true believers on his quest for the lost arch that jack built.
From the Bavarian lowlands he found his way to Berlin, where he set up his own imprint Mother Recordings in 2012, providing a haven for like-minded musicians. It´s a healthy bunch of friends, artists and creative heads. Their individual life stories and experiences help to shape a very personal vision of contemporary House music, that received instant positive feedback from the first release on. The list of releasing artists and remixers on the freshly founded label contains well-known names such as Daniel Dexter, The Revenge, Audiojack, El_Txef_A, NTFO, Walker & Royce, Death On The Balcony, Andre Crom, and many more.
Coming from a skateboarding and Hip Hop background he first fell in love with House music in the early 2000s. For Nhan Solo, House is an organic progression of Hip Hop pitched to 100+ BPM with Funk and Soul samples twitched into loops. Being inspired by the music of Africa Bambaataa, George Clinton, Parliament and Funkadelic - his own rump shaking, body popping productions are heavily based on their synths and drumbeat sounds.
Nhan Solo´s personal continuous musical output can or will be found on labels such as OFF Recordings, Stranjjur, 2DIY4, Dikso, Nurvous Records and of course Mother Recordings. His tracks have been remixed by respectable members of the scene like Ian Pooley, Spencer Parker, Oliver $, Martin Dawson, Kiki, Fritz Zander, Adriatique - just to name a few.
So far, 2012 has been the most successful year for Nhan Solo´s still young career as a DJ. With gigs all over Europe (Istanbul, Kiev, Amsterdam, Zurich, Oslo, Copenhagen, Lyon, Berlin etc.) and 2 personal Beatport Top 10 hits ("Easy" & "Friends") which received massive support by Solomun, Soul Clap, Jozif, Dyed Soundorom, Adana Twins, DJ T....
So how will the quest for the lost arch continue in the future?
For starters, he´s in middle of preparing his first album release for 2013. With line up tours for Australia, North- and South America, he´s about to bring his compelling sound to clubs outside Europe for the first time. "Easy" will be released on a number of well-known compilation series such as Ministry of Sound, Defected In The House and the 1 Year Birthday Compilation of his own label Mother Recordins is in the making as well.
Sounding like a busy bee, or not? "Hell yes", he says - "but it´s all good. I believe that everything must be done with passion and a true sense of sincerity. And I´ve got plenty of both to go around! :)"
Jackmode
This week Civilise is going to take a deeper look into the Record label Jackmode.. A personal favourite of mine over the past couple of months. I belive they have picked up some truely amazin acts which are now being recognised around the world as we speak...Artists such as Soul Clap, Maya Jane Coles, Luciano are staring to take note of some of their talent... Watch this space for the likes of Cocolores, Nhan Solo, Animal trainer, Death on the Balcony, Jesse Perez and Joyce Muniz to name a few. Jackmode have already had a lot of success over the past year with the likes of Adana Twins "who in my opinion are one of the most compelling acts i have come across. The likes of Robosonic and Claptone have also broken through this year and last year with some huge tunes hitting the top 10 in beatport and being played across the world...
