honestly telugu is such a pretty language i always kind of played it off growing up cause growing up indian you’re like taught to worship hindi ?? not that isn’t a pretty language but there’s that kind of erasure + pressured nationalism that makes you want to hate your regional identities + language + even dialect, i love how beautiful the script is and how the ends of words are usually vowels and how the words slip off your tongue

I feel the same way. I was actually shamed when I visited New Delhi this past February for not knowing Hindi by our taxi driver. I was like —uhh, bruh…..RUDE.

Not to mention the elitism within my university in the U.S. within our Indian Student Organizations. North Indians > South Indians was a common theme - within dating, activities, etc. Glad to hear someone talk about this shit.

I’m Tamil and I am proud of that. I wish I had access to feeling that pride in a communal setting (that was also queer friendly but that place most definitely does not exist) . It’s one of the hardest things. To not have a niche community.

he never got to grow up, spend time with his family, or have a family of his own. he has a 5th grade education at best, hes essentially homeless, and the only friend hes retained through all of his travels is a mouse.
