24x38" panel, walnut ink on acrylic so far. might do the environment in oil + cold wax medium so it kind of obscures the figure in a hazy, atmospheric way. and yes it's life-size :)

Through emotionally-charged landscapes and interior spaces, I am searching for a raw expression of identity. I aim to illustrate the world the way I experience it: with melancholy and contemplation.
My studio work is very process-oriented, beginning with the physical construction of the support. I use thinly-diluted water media to slowly build up layers upon layers of color, often taking away large areas with the orbital sander. Afterwards, I will go back over with oil paint. Working large scale allows me to physically engage my body—both fine and gross motor—in the process of painting. I am thinking deeply on the tactility of the media and the flux of control we have over these physical characteristics.
My most recent studio work explores themes of desolation and self-image through distorted interior spaces. My recent digital work examines the subtleties of human expression and interaction through humor, color and line.
