egads! you’ve found my secret ‘keep reading’ secret! here it is…
The ambience and mood of Dandys World is greatly juxtaposed between the characters and the environment. The toons are bright-colored, usually smiling or making otherwise cartoonish expressions. They look like, well, toons.
The environment these characters are in is dingy, dusty, abandoned a long time ago. Transformed, malicious, ichor-filled versions of themselves and their friends roam the halls and attack them on sight. It’s a terrifying idea.
“Oh, but callie, they’re in-universe cartoon characters! It’s in their ‘programming’”! Yeah, you’re right, these characters are archetypical for a Watsonian reason, but they’ve also obviously grown to be more than just their archetypes. Do you think Glisten was ‘programmed’ to have insecurities, or Boxten his nightmares, or Poppy her… whatever her deal is? No, I think these characters have, in classic cartoon-come-to-life fashion, developed into real people with personalities. These personalities might still be informed by their original design in some cases. Tisha still really cares about cleanliness and Shelly still loves dinosaurs and fossils.
Ok follow me for a bit here.
[a pie chart with four sections, two very large and two very small. the two large pieces are labeled ‘Twisted Variance’ and ‘Archetypical Truth’. the two small pieces are labeled ‘Truth’]
‘Archetypical Truth’ is the truth-factor of any given characters archetype. Eg: Tisha is clean. Glisten is perfect. One of these is more true than the other.
‘Twisted Variance’ is the twist-factor of any given characters twisted variant. Eg: twisted glisten has a lot more characterization potential than twisted tisha.
The two ‘Idea’ pieces represent the toon’s idea of themself. There’s two of them to account for the twin extremes of personalities. Eg: glisten’s confident/insecure, tisha’s caring/uncaring.
Twisted Tisha vs Tisha vs Tisha in posters aren’t different characters per say, but facets of the same character that indicate something about that character. yfm?
when you get crazy enough about The Character you'd think the situations you imagine them in would get more elaborate and lore intensive. but no. imagining my wizard pacing around huffily being slightly peeved at a mild inconvenience. I don’t even know what the inconvenience IS. and it's giving me enough joy to power a city for a month
the moment serious criticism is levied we get multiple updates in the span of two weeks-ish. DONT GIVE THEM AN OUNCE
if you really want to know about the new toon, watch somebodies video playing as them or read the wiki page. don’t play the game, don’t give them any positive feedback until we get an ACTUAL resolution.

vee ver2 would have soooo many issues if she was made real just by the nature of being the sequel to someone else. vee and ver2 both having the Same show memories yet vee is the one who really grew up with the others ver2 even if she feels like sprout/brusha, that these people should be her friends and she might not be a good enough Vee without them... the others may not vibe with her like that and trying to force it may mean they dislike her by default. Ver2 would be emotionally set for catastrophe cause she's in a "presumed dead"s toons massive shadow and expected to do better. And hey if Ver2 fails there might be Ver3. If Vee has Mew/Mewtwo vibes would Ver2 be Mega Mewtwo X or Y or a Mewthree design. Imagine Ver2 having a tail at the back of her head
The idea of Vee Ver2 having performance anxiety yet this strange detachment to the toons around her due to having all of her memories but being made so late and not just that, in replacement of someone everyone around her knew before her.... oughdcjh
Expectations and pressure is something I already put onto regular Vee, considering her relationship with Arthur is heavily strained because of this. Vee Ver2 would have Arthur's approval but tenfold the amount of expectations and pressure
I don't think many toons would get along with Vee Ver2 because she's supposed to be Vee either, it'd take a while for toons to warm up to her and its because she's someone new. She took Vee's name, and everyone calls her V2 or just Two.
Living in Vee's shadow is not easy, and Vee Ver2 understands that by her second day being alive.
as for Vee's mewtwo vibes, Vee Ver2 would be mega mewtwo Y. Simply because I imagine her as a thinner flatter television. Not with the strength associated with mega mewtwo X

soulvester forgetting he is in armor and wielding a big fuck off sword: "connie...?"
connie: "woah hey back off stranger"
wonder if soulvester forgets what his ghost form looks like due to avoiding ever getting out of his suit. like of course your sister doesn't recognize you do you even recognize yourself? do you just recognize the tin can more that the tired eyes? do you even know how to unpossess or are you bound to this like shackles?
headcanon, i thought of connie and soulvester as a bit snakey, so while Connies "Ghost Snakes in a Can" trinket refers to her love of pranks its also a vague nod to her bro and wishing her sibling would come out and chat
OOOGH i like this... however soulvester might say boolynski rather than connie at first glance.
OBLIGITORY SOULVESTER TANGENT!!!! Soulvester feels this weird attachment yet disconnect to his armor, especially in micromeal. His armor is what he should be but its caused him his greatest pain. Both in his role as a backstage toon and in his own personal view of himself.
He wonders if he's too far gone to unpossess and be what she truly wants to be
(yes, this too, is transfem soulvester)
As for the snakey hc, I LOOOOVE that, and it would make drawing them easier... I adore that idea
