Best hairdo of them all.
Flying to Mulu. My home stay and the view from it.
Brunei
I've been vacant from updating good old tumblr because I've been shit at taking photos and there's only so much text I can squeeze out of this mushy brain of mine...speaking of brain, I've eaten it. Nope. It doesn't make you wiser...my phone aka my camera has been on the blink so majority of the stuff I want to share doesn't exist. Pics or it didn't happen. So maybe it didn't happen. Brunei is basically a one day town. You get in, you spend too much money on a coffee and slice of cake. You try to get a room at the local youth centre to find out the guy makes up his own hours resulting in checking in at 9pm at night and getting very confused by the opening ours and lack of people in this "busy, oil rich town". It's got some charm and class but I'm grateful that the YMCA was booked out the next night, forcing me to make the decision of a $59 hotel room or a $20 bus into Malaysia. BUS TRIP IT IS. Miri, only 5 hours drive away, but completely different to Brunei. Chaos, people and a nightlife. This city has a nice charm about it and brilliant beer and food. On a whim I booked flights to Mulu national park after a tip from people at the hostel. The national park is only accessible by plane or a 10 hour boat ride. I organised to climb the pinnacles and stay a total of 5 nights in Mulu outside of the national park because, cheap lyfe. Firstly, I gotta put it out there, Just because I ride a bike and am on the slim side doesn't mean I'm fit. I'm not going to have a heart-attack and die from climbing stairs but I can't do a push-up. Based on this assessment of myself and people saying it's not too bad, I set off to climb the pinnacles with 2 other dudes and a guide. This is a 3 day 2 night gig. I'm alive. Just. So, coming back into the pics of it didn't happen thing, my phone was dead. It wouldn't charge/turn on while getting juiced up from the power pack (but it did on the way down-thanks technology!). So I can't show you pics of the terrain, 45 degree angles, 17 ladders, multiple ropes and certain points where if you slipped you'd either die or seriously injure yourself. I also didn't have jungle worthy shoes, just my trusty slip on Nike's. ANY WAY. I made it. Leach ridden and sweaty. If you ever see a 100RM note, you'll see the pinnacles on it. Yerrrrp. With my last few remaining nights in Mulu I did clear water adventure caving. Ya know the usual, eating lunch in a cave and swimming in freezing water (again no pics). The suckers with belongings that would get damaged in water where unable to take the easy way out by just floating down stream to the cave entrance and instead had to climb back through. I was also able to see the bats emerge from the cave and do there're beautiful swarmy dance which kinda looked like they were flying backwards at points. Either way, I'm now in Kuching, western Sarawak where I've just been chilling out exploring the beautiful streets.

Cebu views
I'd really like to write about my experience here in the Philippines but I actually can't put it into words. It was just unbelievable. When my photos finally sync up you'll get a nice little snippet of the views and activities :)
