D’you know how you figure out you’re doing spectacularly well during your time off? When you finally understand (sort of, alright, sort of) your own birth chart. It’s taken me well over three decades, but I think I can finally safely say that I understand what it means to be a Moon in Cancer Libran lady. Whether it is necessarily accurate or otherwise, I will not say, but I will say that my aversion to seafood definitely probably has to do with having a crab as my zodiac symbol. D’you know yours? Dave, I have to tell you that there was absolutely no need to give me war flashbacks the way this story did. But you must know I share well in your pain. Y’know the one and only time I decided to submit myself to an edible was right before my mates made me attend Horror Nights at Universal, y’know, the absolutely horrifying one with the Purge people running about and shoving their screeching chainsaws at your feet? That one. It was ‘cos I was under the same impression as you and decided I’d be far less of a wimp if I had something to take the edge off. Needless to say, me and my giant Simpsons donut from Simpsonsland at Universal had a wonderful time not coming out of the loo at Universal until two in the bloody morning. Only advice I’ve got for you is get yourself a nice doughnut to spend time with, doesn’t make it any better but it sure does taste yummier. Anyways, I’m Emilia, I share in your pain, and I’ll be hiding under my own five feet of scaredy cat every Halloween from now onwards.

For the first time in years I’m unemployed, single, and living alone all at the same time. I actually can’t remember the last time I was all three at the same time, long before The 100, that much I know for sure. Or crying into some wine over the fact that my show is really over and I’ll never go back. Unemployment is looking great on me, obviously. Oh, mate, I absolutely get you. Not really about the single part, must admit I’m quite used to that, but the living alone whilst unemployed? Oh, yes. Made my way back to Cali for the first time in ages after being on the West End and thus commuting from home with mum for a couple months and it’s just so damn difficult getting used to cooking for just one again. Have you been doing alright with portion control? ‘Cause I’ve been having leftovers for the past three days, to be frank, it’s quite sad but my microwave’s earning its money’s worth, that’s for sure. Have you considered taking up gourmet baking? That’d impress Bobby Flay, no? ‘M more of a Ramsey girl myself, but yanno. We can dream, we can dream.

So I came back home to my apartment after last night’s show to quite a surprise. Some birds have decided to make their nest right outside the window of my kitchen. So there was a bunch of eggs, and I didn’t know what to do about it, I couldn’t even open my window. I suppose we’ll have to suffer with our income tax rates, for the sake of true love.” As he spoke, he began getting his things together, being very much aware that they had another place to be. “Wow, trying to hurry me out the door, I see, I see,” he playfully rolled his eyes at her. Thankfully, he’d already spent some time at the stage door, so he didn’t have anything else to do except leave the theatre now. “No, of course, let’s go. I’m looking forward to seeing what treat you have in store for me.”

There’s a little hum that falls from her lips, and she wrinkles her nose with a slight frown, her brows knitting together. “You’re absolutely sure you don’t have floral wallpapers or chandeliers hanging from your ceilings? Shame on you, Tom.” And then a guffaw of a laugh falls from her mouth yet again, and she throws her head back at the relatability of it all. “Oh my, mate, you’re enabling me all too much with that -- the sheer amount of times housesitters have given me a weird look the second I ask to speak to my Roxy. ‘S like they’ve never petsitted before.” She said with a dismayed shake of her head, letting a tut slide past her lips. “I’d rather be known as a weird dog mum than go for a week without seeing her little face, though, and live photos just don’t do the trick, y’know?” she said with a hum, hurrying over to see if she could be of any aid. “Oh, no rush, please! Can I help with packing anything? Help carrying anything?” she asked with slightly wider eyes, teeth gnawing down on her bottom lip. “Reservation can be extended, as well, so, we don’t have to be in any hurry to get anywhere, promise. But I do think you’ll like it. Can’t ever go wrong with a lovely Italian.”

Meaning that my nine year old thinks that he’s all grown up and doesn’t ask for much help these days unless it’s how to do a certain math question or how to impress a girl… which he’s too young for by the way. It’s not so bad I mean the dogs are keeping me occupied while my son is off at his mother’s and my son will enjoy playing with them when he’s over. I fully adopted them, they kind of captured my heart the moment I saw them so I couldn’t leave them there. Tugged at your heartstrings until you couldn’t let them go? ‘S how it was with me and my Roxy. Been too long now. Maybe. Just feel like I travel a bit too much, Roxy’s gotten used to it but throwing another one into the mix might be difficult.

There was a grain of his own beliefs thrown in there, his own shamelessness when he believed he was right. Keenly said after the click of her chair beneath bar signaled the chair itself had rested and considerably closer than he would have needed to the wheel. “We will see about that, guess you can take it as we are ready.” Very pointedly turning his head towards her and giving a smile on que as he said it. What the hell was it about her that drew this actually out of him, he still refused to call it rude or mean but it was an obvious bite or snark to his tone when she was around. If this was him subconciously flirting no wonder he was shit at getting dates and one nights with these skills.  Digging his candy out s he pondered over such misty and illusive thoughts as she drove. He could he the kids chatting in the back, well bless his heart Ford knew shit about disneyland rely so it was a one way conversation of Harper telling him what all they were going to do when they got to the park, the well humored dad smirking overhearing her.

A loud laugh fell from Emilia’s mouth at that as she drove. It was boisterous and free and entirely uncensored in the way it flowed from her mouth -- because she was in such good, comfortable company even when she hadn’t met his little ones previously. She started the car and set off driving, falling back into ease. She did quite enjoy driving -- particularly as she was learning much of the skill when living in America all over again. “This makes me feel eighteen again,” she commented with a little smile playing across her rose-tinted lips, glancing over at him as she stopped at a light. “’S like I’m learning to drive all over again, isn’t it? Even though I do have me license and all,” she shrugged her shoulders, a sheepish flush of pride rising to her cheeks. She was quite proud of herself for having learned such a skill all over again in life. It was a similar reason to why she’d recently decided to start learning Spanish. Suddenly moving to Southern California and frequenting Spain had made it so she encountered far more Spanish-speaking people, and even later in life, Emilia wanted to be absorbed in the learning of it all -- perhaps why she’d taken the time to get formal training in drama school, just as well.
