It’s actually insane how much his ass has been getting jumped since the manga ended 😂. People are finally able to speak up about this turd without getting death threats.

Tbh the inevitable conclusion of hating a character is making the dumbest, most incorrect statements ever heard because people's hatred, just like other people's blind adoration, messes with their ability to actually engage with the source material

If there's no tangible results from his supposed development, did it actually happen? Bakugo's supposed development is Sisyphean. He supposedly takes steps forward, and then almost immediately undoes whatever he just claimed to learn. Case in point, he supposedly learns the lesson that he needs to work with his allies, to be a team player, and that his personal strength isn't always the key to victory. He spends the battle against "Tomura Shigaraki" arguing with Mirko, attempting selfish plays and needing to be rescued, and then dies because he ignored teamwork to attack "Tomura Shigaraki" at a weakpoint that he believed he alone identified. Which "Tomura" knew about and exploited Bakugo's attack and exploded his heart. Because of his selfishness, he puts everyone else in a dire situation and multiple sacrifices need to be made to resurrect him. The narrative rewards Bakugo with an enormous power boost that then enables him to kill AFO solo, while he pays lip service to the idea that everyone else helped. But, naturally, he was the one who struck all of the major blows and exploded him when he was a baby. He then proceeds to manifest raw plot armor to get to the final battle in a way that the story lampshades as making no sense just so he can kill Kurogiri for unexplained reasons. He ends the series dropping in hero ranks because he can't keep himself from yelling at the press, a lesson he supposedly learned at the remedial training arc. Despite an entire series of screaming about how he'd become the number 1 hero, he does not become the number 1 hero. His ending is that he still self sabotages. He ends the series as a failure. All of his talk? It turns out it was hot air because his character development didn't lead to him becoming someone who gets appointed number 1 hero. Mirio, a man he outclasses on every single metric, has the title the narrative was setting Bakugo up for because he knows how to smile and use his inside voice. What, tangibly, has actually changed? One thing we can say is that at least he no longer attacks his allies in battle, unlike in the Finals with Izuku. He did not come to blows with Mirko because they had to focus on the business at hand. He also only threatened to attack Izuku during the first war when they were going to confront Tomura, rather than actually doing it. Baby steps! He managed to learn a lesson that everyone else already knew. So yes, Bakugo did indeed have some character development. He graduated preschool and learned "no hitting."

I'm having a lot of difficulty with what to do with Bakugou in my rewrite, like it would be cool to make him have a healthy rivalry with Izuku, but at the same time, that would be very cliché and that would only benefit his and BKDK stans. Since I'm planning my rewrite, the main focus is to give Izuku the love and respect he deserves, since his own creator never seems to have given him that, if you see, I'm thinking of how I can do it fair to the character of Izuku, besides, I'm thinking of making Bakugou just a minor antagonist (He's not even Izuku's main rival, I'm thinking of giving that to Shoto or Tenya), like Izuku showing Bakugou that he's not that boy who's going to accept the abuse he put Izuku through. But there are times the ideas I'm planning for Bakugou, can be something, how can I say… sadistic. Like I know he's just a teenager, but even so, I have no sympathy for him, him being a teenager doesn't make him any less of an abuser, that's something his stans don't accept and never will (I accepted that stans don't want think about it). So would it be good to follow these ideas or simply remove him from the story early and ignore his existence?

I will say this, it's entirely okay to redeem Bakugou.

Some of my favorite replies/reblogs are from people who actually like him but also agree with or see my points because they genuinely do want Bakugou to grow and be better. One person was even like, "I liked Bakugou because he had a lot of narrative potential that was wasted" and it's like YES. YES HE DID.

Bakugou's role at the beginning of the story was two things: to be an obstacle for Izuku to overcome and be a prime example of the privileged individuals of the society in MHA. If you have your narrative call out how better Bakugou was treated all his life and that it gave him the means to be as awful as he was, you're golden. Bonus points if the rest of 1A- most of whom would have experienced that same privilege- call him out.

As long as you aren't obstructing Izuku's development to pander to Bakugou's, you're doing well
