āThereās something physical that changes with a personās appearance when they suddenly open up to you.ā
ā Dinaw Mengestu, The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears (via jugodetronos)
āThe sad truth is that the truth is sad.ā
ā Lemony Snicket
āThe feeling of Sunday is the same everywhere, heavy, melancholy, standing still.ā
ā Jean Rhys, from Voyage in the Dark (W. W. Norton & Co., 1994)
My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.
Maya Angelou

i keep trying to memorize every detail of the moments i live in. in the soreness of my legs from standing so long at a concert, the chill of the night, the patterns of a tablecloth, the oily texture in my mouth after eating fried bananas. i keep trying to memorize the feelings, the quiet contentedness, the laughter, the excitement. i keep trying to memorize the people, their smiles, the way they speak, what makes them laugh. iām constantly on the cusp of the next part of my life and thatās just so.. strange. but it makes it so much easier to find happiness no matter whatās happening to me, in a way? because iām already kind of looking at life with those rose-colored glasses of nostalgia, simply because i know these are times iāll never be able to live again, and these are people i might not always have, and that makes it so much easier to appreciate everything i might miss later.Ā

āIāve never told you this,ā she said. āBut thereās something about taking the cart back instead of leaving it in the parking lot. I donāt know when this came to me; it was a few years ago. Thereās a difference between leaving it where you empty it and taking it back to the front of the store. Itās significant.ā
āBecause somebody has to take them in.ā
āYes. And if you know that, and you do it for that one guy, you do something else. You join the worldā¦You move out of your isolation and become universal.ā
ā Andre Dubus, āOut of the Snowā, Dancing After Hours: Stories
no offense but i do not have time for ppl that have no emotional depth and donāt even attempt to understand themselves or others
I was going through my momās stamp collection and automatically started organizing them in categories. Ā Hereās nature: flowers & animals.
