Thank you and goodbye...
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you all that me (Adrienne/Aige), and Ms. M. have decided that Classic Ladies of Color will end its run.
I started this blog as a college student on her summer break in June 2012. Long story short, I wanted to create a platform where women like Dorothy Dandridge, Anna May Wong, Madhubala, Donyale Luna, Judy Pace, Louise Beavers, and more could all be celebrated and acknowledged. Through this blog, I was able to share my love, and I learned about A LOT of women I hadn’t heard of before. In 2013, Ms. M came along to co-moderate, and the floodgates opened even further. THANK YOU’s: I want to thank Ms. M for all of her hard work and advice. We both want to thank every single follower of this blog--especially the ones who’ve been around since its first years. Thank you for every submission, every request, and every ‘Ask’.
I especially want to thank three creatives and curators who (unbeknownst to them) inspired me to build this space: @vintageblackglamour @lascasartoris and @flyandfamousblackgirls (back when they were fuckyeahfamousblackgirls!). We will not be deleting the blog--it simply won’t be active anymore. Please feel free to keep using the archives (when I find a moment, I will better organize the tags). FINAL MESSAGES: I have a film company. More-so a digital media company: Kindaris Pictures.
