Felicia Day is a boss. Indeed depending on who you're talking to she might even be called a Queen. Day is known by many as the “Queen of the Geeks” (a title she personally rejects, but accepts the compliment when others use it). She's also an actress, a business woman, a comedian, an entrepreneur, a writer, a gamer and we love, love, love her. She took time out of her rad life to chat with us at HelloGiggles about her new book — and, of course, her life advice. If you’re a Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan, you’ll recognize her as Vi from the last season, or maybe you know her from Eureka, The Supernatural, or Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Or maybe you asked for her autograph at Comic-Con thinking she was Emily Blunt (it's totally happened). Whatever you recognize her from, you may not know that Felicia is also a super-successful entrepreneur — she's the founder and CCO of Geek & Sundry a web content company with more than 1.4 million YouTube ...
Felicia Day FTW.
If you were a teen or preteen in the late '90s to early 2000s, chances are you had a favorite Backstreet Boy. Then, eventually, like your crush's frosted tips, the Backstreet Boys faded away. But not entirely. It’s been exactly 18 years since their debut album dropped (happy anniversary, BSBs!), and we're still holding a candle for the boys. To honor this occasion, we watched the Backstreet Boys documentary, Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of on Netflix. And, man, did we learn a lot. It’s almost two hours long and jam packed with some larger-than-life truths. Here they are: Kevin quit the group Yep, from 2006 to 2013 the Backstreet Boys were only 4. Releasing two albums Unbreakable and This is Us sans Kevin. In the doc Kev admits he, “wanted to just be a normal guy for a while.” The group had some age gaps When the group had their first performance in 1993 at SeaWorld Orlando, Kevin (the oldest member) was 21, while Nick (the youngest) was 13. ...
Backstreet’s back... ALL RIGHT?!
Yes! I made it to yoga class! Like actually made it! I'm on my mat, on time, ready to do this. Gone are the days of talking about how much I do yoga, when really I'm in downward-facing-dog as frequently as I'm cleaning the inside of my fridge (nobody really does that much, right?). I'm basically enlightened. The class starts, and my mind races. I try to take deep breaths and shut off my thoughts, but I just can’t. My teacher notices I'm fidgeting with my hair for the tenth time, and calls me out. “Be here,” she coos. “Focus on this class, on your moment and nothing else. Quiet your mind.” I try. I really do. But my mind is blabbering, my eyes are wandering around the room filled with neon spandex and a smattering of cool tattoos. Here are the thoughts that flood my brain as I contemplate if I should namaste or go. What time is it? It’s only been five minutes. Really? Damn you ninety-minute classes. What is this a movie? I was ...
