I’m so pissed about men today.

Here’s the thing: there are real and actual shitty things that men experience that menninists COULD be part of solving. Misandry is not a thing, but patriarchy is and it FUCKS MEN UP. This thing that was created that we are part of and too many of us participate in, the same insidious thing that tells little girls they have to be nurturing and loving and silent, tells men they have to be cold and angry and strong, that they can’t be raped, and that if they cry they’re a sissy…because being compared to a woman is apparently the worst possible thing…part of how you know that these experiences are not separate from patriarchy, but part of it.

But instead of getting together and going “hey, patriarchy is shit, it does terrible things to women and to us too, let’s do stuff inside the world of men to try to stop that” instead INSTEAD what men did was get together and MAKE UP a new and fake “oppressive” structure, called it misandry and used it to continue to perpetuate patriarchy through this new system.

wtf? @ men: what the heck is wrong with us?? DO. BETTER.

tldr; misandry isn’t real, it’s a straw man idea being used to misdirect our attention from the fact that the worst of things that happen to men are a direct result of the same patriarchy the women you decry as “too feminist” are trying to fucking eradicate. get. on. board.
