big brain thoughts at 2am: you know when jewellers use white gold instead of silver? normal, regular person gymnasts who win second to simone should be named white-gold medallists. the medal may look silver, but itās essentially gold
white gold medalist tang xijing
The new medals are: gold, white gold, rose gold
update on ellieās injury
Gelya and Oleg winning AA rose gold medals is what they DESERVE
After four years, theĀ beloved Russian ice princessĀ Angelina Melnikova finally earns herself a world all-around medal, finishing in third position. She joins the likes of Mustafina, Komova and Eremina as world medalists for Russia.
i am so proud of angelina melnikova. she grew so much this quad, from a new senior in 2016 that didnāt make the aa finals, to falling on every routine at 2017, and then sorting out her mental blocks/inconsistency/whatever were holding her back through last year and becoming the rock and one of the leaders of team russia right now. she never stopped working hard and even if things were hard sometimes, she knew in the next day she would find her motivation. at euro games she said she was happy for finally breaking 13 on beam, and now she got a 14 at worlds, the biggest meet of the year. she made the podium on every single aa meet she competed this year. she is now an all around world medalist. gelya deserves this so so so much, i couldnāt be prouder. well done, gelya
I don't follow MAG that closely, so i blame all of you for not informing me my baby Oleg was gonna kill it again š i was not ready for this awesome podium
I donāt even think he knew he was gonna kill it againš
YALL
:ā)
DAVID BELYAVSKIY IS FINALLY A WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!!
I really like what Gelya said to someone who asked her āwhat do you do when you wake up without motivationā: āI donāt worry because the next morning i will wake up with motivation againā its such a simple thing and yet the ability to do that sets apart the good from the better
Tang Xijing will replace Liu Tingting at AA Final
Together they (t)win! šā¤ļø

Reminder: the top *12* teams from qualifications can send athletes to the AA world cups
So for the men: Russia, China, Japan, Ukraine, GB, Switzerland, USA, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, Germany
And for the women: USA, China, Russia, France, Canada, Netherlands, GB, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Spain
the men AA cups will be a bit boring in the "who gets a spot" aspect because RUSSIA JAPAN CHINA BYE, but i will take any opportunity to see my swiss and german darlings in the beginning of the year
the women AA cups will be a lot harder to predict - USA gets a spot, and then idk? russia SHOULD get one with vlada and lena turning senior, but russia. most other countries have one or two good all arounders roughly at the same level of each other, it should be be a fun fight
FTR the American men generally do pretty well and I'm reasonably certain they placed top 3 at the end of the series in 2018 BUT with Olympic qualifications on the line, things could be different
Isn't that bc Japan and Russia didn't have anyone competing at American cup tho? And China didn't have anyone in Tokyo iirc? Also Japan sent baby Teppei to stuttgart whereas they'll probs put more thought into it with an Olympic spot up for grabs (but then they might not bc they are dumb)
I thought only best 3 finishes counted so I didn't think the fact some feds skipped one mattered. And yes that's what I meant for Olympic quals. The top 3 feds with the most points can get extra spots
It's top 2 for men which makes things a bit more interesting
Well now all results are taken into consideration and top 3 feds get spots
why did I think it was top 2??? god Iām so confused
Wait so itās only the countries with qualified teams that can go for the extra AA World Cup spots? So please explain how this promotes diversity in the sport..wasnāt that the whole point of this crazy individual qualification system?
