i don’t think we have too much that’s concrete for this particular observation lol but re: leaders/3gumi are connected in oddly poignant ways

i liken leaders/2gumi as soul twins for essentially having the same hearts and 3gumi tends to be a little offbeat from them. what i think leaders/3gumi have going on is that the 3gumi reflects a facet of their leader’s darkness/trauma, eg saburo is very arrogant and hates feeling incapable bc of it and tho it’s usually glossed over, hypdream went out of its way to frame saburo’s hacking skills as unethical. ichiro is also very arrogant, hates feeling incapable and got into a lot of dirty work

and i bring this all up bc i wanted to talk about how samatoki is likely a valentine’s baby, nemu is likely a product of the aohitsugi parents feeling full of love and life after a wonderful november (birth)day and with how nemu would have been four when wwiii started, what likely doomed the aohitsugi parents’ love was that the father went to war and came back a different man and that’s what rio, a war vet, is meant to reflect from samatoki’s past

The Wind Mage, Vaati

Inspirations taken from his different transformations including my own twists. I wanted him to look almost regal to contrast the princesses and create the illusion of a calculated and cold villain with powerful influence. Within this form, the initial markings under his eyes are actually another set of eyes. The chest eye is functional.
