~ Pinned Post
//heyyyy guys so yk how this blog has been kinda dead? well thats because i havent had consistent access to my laptop. NOT TO WORRY, THOUGH! i made a new coworker blog (see above) that will be better organized and more consistent than this one!! all the interactions and arcs and LORE and stuff from this blog applies there too! its the same coworker!
i wont be active on this blog anymore, but i wont be deleting it!!
okay thats it buh bye :)
[It had been a while since Coworker saw his face. He didn’t really speak to anyone, unless it was an elevator related issue. But, something was wrong with the safety department head.]
[He felt weird. A heavy feeling in his chest he hasn’t felt before. He wasn’t sure what it was. And it probably wasn’t acceptable in the workplace in this time period. Would the boss ever find out?]

// throws this at you
[ Coworker's thoughts are interrupted by the small speaker known as 'MANUEL' acting strange again. Always making the most odd comments. The 'mama' thing could've been directed at anyone -- maybe even no one -- but it kinda frightened coworker. Not as in the title itself is scary, but moreso the notion of being referred to with it. They respond more nervously than usual. ]
> " ...uh... excuse me..? You uh.. talkin' to me? "
[It nods, seeming nervous to take another step in. It was odd. MANUEL had been face to face with anyone else in the company. Much less not being the usual bastard he was, sending some type of firing squad to deal with someone.]
[M H M. . .]
[ Well this is certainly a predicament. It's probably just some sort of mix-up. Still, it couldn't hurt to try to help. ]
> " Uh... Did you need anything in particular? "
[…]
[C O M P A N Y..]
[That was partly accurate, at least. As best as he could share without seeming like a weirdo or freak.]
[ They nods and stand by awkwardly. ]
> "...sooo..."
[He slowly walks into the room, no longer lingering by the door. Every instinct was telling MANUEL to be clingy. Why?.. he shouldn’t. This is supposed to be a professional setting. He felt.. weak? Small? Who knew..]
[H M ?]
[ MANUEL is kind of... intimidating and enigmatic. But, its probably just the fact Coworker doesn't know him very well. ]
> " ..Anything on your mind in particular? "
[F E E L F U N N Y..]
[It wasn’t sure how to explain it. It was more than ‘funny’. It needed comfort, company, and to be watched and cared for. But he couldn’t just say that. What was wrong with him?]
[ Coworker nods. They're not very good with this stuff, but there's no harm in trying to help. Coworker speaks with a more gentle and considerate tone. ]
> " Got it. You wanna tell me specifics or should we leave it there? "
[It thinks for a moment..]
[. . V U L N R A B L E. N E E D Y.]
[He immediately cringed. Did MANUEL seriously admit that??]
[ That's certainly a way to feel. They're both (not) grown men with office jobs, but humoring how MANUEL feels can't hurt. Coworker keeps the gentle tone. It's like how your mom would talk to you when trying to console you. ]
> " I see. Is there something I can do to help? "
[M M M. . .]
[He thinks, a tad frustrated that this was how he felt while actively at work.]
[I D U N N O. .]
[aaand he pouts like a 2 year old.]
[ Coworker nods gently and casually begins to walk over to MANUEL. They're taller up close, so they have to lean down a bit to get a closer look at it's face. ]
> " Don't pout now, we'll work through this. "
[ They speak softly, offer MANUEL a smile and a little pat on the head. ]
[MANUEL looks up at Coworker. Now slightly intimidated. Were they always that tall?..]
[M M. . O K A Y. .]
[That was somewhat comforting to the guy, fortunately. It was still a bit embarrassed about the feeling though.]
[ Something's definitely different than usual. MANUEL seems more absent and quiet than regular. ]
> " You alright? Need anything? "
[. . . M A M A. . .]
[It seemed basic. But, it mostly wanted comfort. Even just the presence of “mama” was helping.]
[. . D O N ’ T L E A V E. . .]
[ It was still unusual to be referred to as such a thing, but [COWORKER] nods. ]
> "Of course. I won't leave."
hey coworker weird question but
have you ever met The Boss?? The one Normal Guy talks about??
> "I did once. Scary as hell."
[It had been a while since Coworker saw his face. He didn’t really speak to anyone, unless it was an elevator related issue. But, something was wrong with the safety department head.]

//y'all wanna send coworker asks soooooo bad. totally not just because I wanna post on this blog ahahah
Have YOU ever considered becoming a frog? 🐸
// I wouldn't have found this blog if you didn't reblog it lmao
> "What kinda dork thinks of becoming a frog..?"
████ looked at his coworker with almost light in his eyes, which is unusual. he always tried to avoid his coworker's eyes, but this time … he looking up at her (?) with almost sparkling eyes.
it's a little weird, if you thought about it more. his coworker isn't used to seeing him look at her (?) with light in his eyes.
— @prvtagonist 🐀
:33 >> i hope it's ok to send something here!! :D
[ Today's been... unusual, to say the least. 'Unusual' really describes Coworker's life in general as of late. Still, seeing [PROTAG] of all people looking up at her with a twinkle in his eye caught coworker a bit off guard. ]
> "... Do I got somethin' on my face, orrrr?"
████ blinked a few times and he looks like he realized what he was just doing, immediately embarrassed. “ uuh, no, nothing. nothing on your face. sorry. ” he looked to the side and was about to run back to his cubicle. if his coworker looked closer at his face, she would probably be able to see slight red on his ears, due to being a little embarrassed.
the intern internally reminded himself to not make it obvious but, of course, he fails at that because he stares at his coworker for too long. “ i just. uhm. noticed you looked different than usual. ” he awkwardly added, probably not the best line to say—but he didn't know how to approach this at all!
i mean, what are the odds that someone feels the same way as you, but just … the opposite? ████ has never met anyone who did. but there's a lingering, nagging thought that made him nervous … what if he's wrong? the intern bit his tongue from saying anything further.
[ Oh shit, he noticed. Play it cool, [COWORKER], play it cool. ]
> "Oh- uh yeah. I've just been... um... trying out some new clothes lately!"
[ That was the least smooth and most obviously improvised answer ever. ]
… wow, the intern isn't sure if he's more obvious or his coworker is.
regardless, he stays next to his coworker with a sheepish smile. “ well, i think they look nice. it suits you. ” he's not making any sort of eye contact with the younger, but the tone in his voice is obvious that he means it, even if he's a little shy about it. “ it's different than what you usually wear, which is… nice. ”
> "Uh- thanks."
[ How else can one respond to that? [COWORKER] doesn't attempt to make eye-contact either, and just stands awkwardly by. The little flutter in her chest that ensued when he said 'they look nice' and 'it suits you' definitely didn't help with the 'playing it cool' thing. ]
wow. look at these dumbasses standing there.
████ stood there awkwardly with an embarrassed smile on his face. he then sheepishly asks, “ so, what made you want to try out new clothes? ” he hopes it's not an uncomfortable question, he did actually want to know. “ you always wore the same suit so it's a sudden change, atleast for me. ”
for reasons he will not say, he thought it was a nice change. it was just sudden and he noticed immediately.
> "Uh- Dunno, just kinda like this more than my normal getup."
[ Not a complete lie. She does like clothes like these that give her a more feminine appearing frame. She likes them a lot, actually. Definitely more than just 'kinda'. However, [COWORKER] is still [COWORKER], so of course she's still gonna act overly confident. ]
> "Of course, I look stunning in everything, so not much of a change there."
[ she was lowkey kinda swagless before ngl ]
oh. the intern guesses that makes sense. if his coworker liked it, he liked it, and ████ would not mind at all. it looks nice. but before he could say anything else—
—ah, there it is. his coworker's boasting confidence. ████ rolls his eyes with a small smirk, “ of course, of course. thanks for ruining it. ” he joked. but he couldn't bring himself to disagree, for some reason.
> "Aw, don't be like that! You know you love me and my awesome personality!"
[ Well that's a bold statement. She's definitely sure of herself, that's for certain. She ruffles [PROTAG]'s hair with a playful smile. What a flirt. ]
████ lets out a a small squeak and his face flushes a soft red when his coworker makes that comment and ruffles his hair. he feels embarrassed by the affection. he swats his coworker's hand away.
“ yeah, yeah. keep telling yourself that. ” he doesn't deny it, though, and his voice sounds nervous, which he fails to hide. ████ avoids his coworker's gaze.
[ Before she can let that look on his face go to her head too much, she looks at a nearby wall clock to check if her break is over. And of course it is. Nothing ever goes in their favor when [PROTAG] and [COWORKER] are together. Like the very office is trying to keep them apart or something. ]
> "Shit, wasted my entire smoke break-" > "Well, see ya newbie!"
[ She's about to run off, back to her own workspace. There's a brief window for [PROTAG] to say something if he'd like. To stall for just a little more time with his coworker. ]
when his coworker suddenly announced he was leaving, ████'s smile dropped. he didn't expect time moved so fast, and he almost looked pathetic from the way his coworker removed his (??????) hand away from his hair. the intern was looking back at his coworker.
“ w–wait, sorry. um. ” oh fuck, what would be a good thing to say right now? “ can we. uhm– um, get a drink after work? ” good job, ████, very smooth. very clean. not desperate sounding at all. god, he sounded stupid.
the intern looked away, “ sorry. that's stupid. you're probably busy and– ” he just stops himself, preventing him from speaking any further.
[ She stopped in her tracks and turned around to see what he had to say as soon as [PROTAG] spoke. She smiles, not the usual cocky grin or teasing smirk, actually just smiles. It's really quite pretty. Like a personal ray of sunshine reserved for nice little moments such as this one. ]
> "Sure! Meet me in the office parking lot after work!"
[ There's a genuine quality to her voice. Like she's sincerely excited to talk to him outside of work. ]
the intern smiled. “ oh okay...! yeah! i will! i–i'll see you! ” he sheepishly waved, he felt so… happy. for some reason. he didn't even know why.
but he did, he knew why. and he never wanted to admit it ever. the intern was still thinking about the feeling of his coworker's hand on his hair, he felt so flustered just by the thought.
he wanted nothing more than for his coworker to do that again.
//coworkers way of introducing themself is gonna be the exact same when the transition is done except instead of stereotypical white guy names its just stereotypical white woman names.
//I'm talking brenda. I'm talking chloe. maybe even some christina if we're being bold.
> "Wellllllll I guess if I have to."
[ Worlds most fake idgaf-er ever right here. ]
