To the ones praying that I’ll find my prince, or the one, or my soulmate,

Stop. Please stop.

Stop feeding the lie that myself and so many young women believe that says we are not whole until we have found a husband.  Stop making me feel like there’s something wrong with me that’s causing my singleness.  Stop giving me those looks when someone announces they’re engaged or when I go to a wedding. 

If you want to pray for me, Pray that I’ll live a life that’s brimming with joy.  Pray for those feelings of fulfillment to be found in Jesus instead of a man. Pray that I am living a meaningful, full life right where I am instead of praying for a person to come along and supplement that. Pray that I become the person that God wants me to be - whether that’s single or married. Pray that I continue to find my identity solely in Christ and who God uniquely created me to be instead of in my relationship status.  Pray that I’ll become woman that a Godly man is looking for - if God indeed does have marriage in my future.
