rebecca stood up and walked around her desk to stand in front of cleo. âhoney, I know! and you are smart, you will probably find it out yourself.â the redhead felt sorry for the young woman, seeing how upset she was. âI am not trying to protect you, I am trying to protect myself. I know this is not what you want to hear but it is all I can say. as I said, you are not stupid and you always get what you want. but me telling you would just mess everything up and your father will probably fire my firm as their lawyers which would mean you wouldnât have legal representation for a while. it would mean you could lose everything as well. you have to understand this, darling.âÂ
âIâm not some fucking journalist, Iâm not going to spread the news. I wouldnât even bring your name up. But fine, fine, weâre done with this conversation! Itâs pointless anyway,â Cleo grabbed her coat and handbag, holding it firmly against her chest. She was even more confused than before and she felt alone, as if she couldnât speak to anyone. âI have an appointment with a client, I-- I have to go.â
agatharolvssonâ:
â I am fast! Â â Agatha protested as she hopped for a quick shower. Obviously, she looked like a crap, but the redhead at the least need a âcleanâ face, dressing up in the same clothes from the night before. Her hair was slightly messy and she wore her sunglasses, to hid her expression of a hangover. Â
In spite of the quick shower, the Norwegian smelled slightly alcohol. Her blood still boiled from her skin. As she saw Cleo stared the city, discreetly behind her sunglasses she checks the otherâs out the body and found some composure. Â â Iâm ready. â
At the redheadâs word, she looked up at her and eventually, her clothes. âYou should change, this shirt is stained. I have tons of them upstairs, in the dressing room,â She said, frowning a little bit. âDo you want to take a coffee? As long as you donât spill it in the car,â She rolled her eyes despite her smile, then made her way to the kitchen.
liamxhillâ:
âDancing alone? Well that just makes you sound really sad. At least Iâve been at the bar alone.â He was teasing her as usual but he was never going to deny her what she requested. Sure, he didnât dance and sure, he didnât even know if he could but he was used to making a fool of himself and not giving a shit. And with her it probably wouldnât be too bad. âOh yeah I love confidence in a woman but thereâs a difference between taking the lead in the bedroom and making me look less of a man in the bedroom and a difference between showing me up out here.â He was joking for the most part but when she turned on him and put her hands on his shoulders he looped his around her lower back in response. âI donât have incredible moves. I just have moves. And theyâre mediocre at best.â
âI was very sad,â Cleo played along. However, she really appreciated the effort. He could have said no and let her dance with someone else, he could have kept drinking because after all, this was not a date. They had a great time together, they got ready together but it wasnât something more, was it? She rolled her eyes at his words but didnât comment them. This was typical Liam after all. âShh, only me can judge your moves tonight,â As they danced following the music rhythm, Cleoâs smiled remained unchanged. As if even in the middle of the crowd, they could find their own little space. âSee, youâre not too bad,â She said after a while, looking up inside the otherâs eyes. âMy father saw us arrived. He said, if someone can make my daughter go somewhere with a cab, I have to meet him.â She chuckled and bit her bottom lip. It was a fun fact and to be honest, she would rather not have the two men meet. Explaining their relationship to her father would be awkward.
therebeccathompsonâ:
rebecca sighed. this wasnât going like she wanted it to go. âcleo, I donât know what you want me to say. what reason would I have to lie to you now? yes, it is about your mother and yes, it has something to do with the company. you have to see where I am coming from though. rules do matter, you should know that by now, especially in my job. I love you and I want to protect you but my hands are really tied here. your father is still my main employer in this case and pissing him off or breaking the rules could literally cost me everything. as much as I would love to tell you more, I canât. please, you have to understand this. it is not my place to tell you.âÂ
âI donât know, so I leave you alone? So I stop bothering you? So I donât put you in trouble?â Cleo shook her head and listened to her although she didnât let her properly talk. âI donât need protection, what I need is the fucking truth. And since no one wants to tell me the whole story, then Iâm going to find out by myself. Thanks anyway,â She was almost shouting in the office and she knew it was unfair, or at least she would get that in a moment. She just had so much stress and anger bottled up and she needed it out.Â
agatharolvssonâ:
â Dear God! I hate you! â Agatha sat up on the bed, gathering her clothes, feeling her head pounding from the hangover and familiar nausea. Drinking way too much became a habit. In spite of her daily parties⌠The redhead was very professional and good at what she does for work.
â Do we have much time?! To hop in the shower? â Since she hadnât checked the hour, she has no idea if she has enough time to take a shower or a bath.
âYeah, I know that already,â Cleo walked down the stairs of her penthouse and made her way to the kitchen where her coffee was waiting for her. Alcohol was still running through her veins, she knew that, but she was in better shape than Agatha, clearly. âIf youâre quick, then yes, you have time,â She said from downstairs, taking a seat on her sofa and looking at the City through the large glass-walls in front of her.
âliamxhillâ:
Liam loved a party. He loved to see alcohol flowing, smiles showing and people coming together in the sake of a good time. Maybe that was why he had originally started to run bars. Not simply because it meant he could drink for free but because so many people made stories within the four walls of hideaways bars and just off the street pubs. New tales to tell and people to meet. He loved it. But as usual, he was at the bar away from the actual festivities. Trying to drink enough to make his suit not feel so uncomfortable. However it was the feeling of her hands on him that flooded him with reassurance once again. âDance? With you?â He snorted lightly and plucked up his drink from the bar. âAre you sure youâve got the right man?â He was teasing her but there was also a sincere shyness behind his words. However, Liam Hill didnât bow in the face of something new. âJust try not to step on my toes or take the lead too much, okay?â He sighed as he drained his newly purchased drink and held out his hand for her.Â
Cleo tilted her head to the side with an amused expression on her face. This was exactly the reaction she expected from him. They must not know each other for a very long time but they spent enough time together during the last couple of weeks to anticipate each other reaction. But in the end, she knew she would win this time because they loved to party equally. âYes, dance with me. Iâve been dancing all alone for too long. Please pretty please,â Cleo threw her arms in the air when he agreed and grabbed his hand. Her cheeks were slightly flushed because of how hot she felt, but also because of the drinks she already had and because she was genuinely excited. âYou usually like it when I take the lead, donât you?â The brunette teased him as they made their way through the crowd. Once they found a little spot for the two of them, she faced Liam and placed on hand on his shoulder. âShow me your incredible moves.â
therebeccathompsonâ:
rebecca didnât hurt easily but seeing cleo be that mad and leave it like this made her heart drop. the brunette was halfway out the door, when the redhead sighed and said âcleo, wait!â she had the womanâs attention. rebecca waited until cleo had turned around to face her. âlook, it has something to do with your mother. but that is really all I can tell you.â she hoped that the young woman would understand how much was on the line for her and would be reasonable.Â
Cleo made her way to the exit of Rebecca office when she called out for her. She stopped and took a deep breath before she turned around. She stared at the redhead for a good minute, standing there in the middle of the office. âHow am I supposed to trust you now that youâre hiding things from me? Because if itâs not her, it means itâs the company and if itâs the company, I should know.â She said but despite her rather calm tone, she was visibly hurt. âBut nothing matters, except the rules. I got that, donât worry.â

Laurel gave the girl look over. She looked familiar ys, but laurel could not put her finger on exactly where she had seen him before. â How do you know about that? â Laurel said as she turned her head sharply. She hadnât even told her best friend yet.
Cleo found the question a little surprising but she didnât bring that up right now. She simply raised her eyebrows and sipped her drink. âWell, since you didnât tell me, Wyatt definitely did. I got arrested the other night and he brought me home,â She shrugged and bit her bottom lip, looking over at the crowd. âSo, when is it planned?â
marcochavczâ:
âIsnât there a saying? Beer after wine is fine.. Wine after beer⌠Thereâs a saying. I just donât remember it,â he told her, though in his tipsy state he had to admit to himself that he could be making it up. Facts and idioms werenât as important when he had this level of alcohol in his blood. âCaramba,â he huffed, nodding. âI am boiling. I should not have worn the three-piece but I thought I was supposed to come all fancy and stuff. Turns out.. I didnât, and now I look like a fool.âÂ
âBeer before wine, you'll be fine, wine before beer, sick for a year. Hopefully, I didnât drink wine before so Iâll be alright,â Cleo chuckled, finding the otherâs words amusing. And it was even more surprising that he apparently wasnât English but still knew the idiom. âWell, I had to get changed because someone spilt their drink on my dress. So many people gathered in the same place makes the temperature a lot warmer. Maybe you could take off your clothes and remain just with your shirt. And donât worry, you donât look like a fool. As long as youâre comfortable, it will be alright.â
therebeccathompsonâ:
cleo having a go at her made rebecca feel even worse. she had known the brunette since she had been a child and although the redhead had to get her out of trouble multiple times, she considered the young woman her family. âtrust me, I would tell you if I could. but I am not allowed to, I would break the law and it could cost me my job and my reputation.â she replied apologetically. âIâm sorry darling.âÂ
Cleo let out an ironically chuckled and shook her head. She was bitter at everyone -- her father, the lawyers, and Rebecca in particular. She had always been there for her, she knew Cleo since what felt like forever and it was just painful. âRight,â She stood up, grabbing her handbag. âDonât come to me and cry when Iâll find out the truth and that it will be too late to fix it.â
Cleo had had a couple of drinks already and as surprising as it was, she actually enjoyed this party. She had low expectations when she received the invitation in the first place but alcohol usually made things better. She walked out of the crowd that was on the dancefloor and made her way to the bar where she saw the familiar face of her favourite bar owner. She could recognise him anywhere and a smile immediately spread across her features. âDance with me,â Cleo whispered in his ear, placing her hands on his hips from behind. âYouâre always at the bar, it would be a nice change, no? Just once.â She pouted, something she usually never did except when she was tipsy, or drunk. She looked a little bit childish but she only wanted to have fun with Liam.

EVENT 002: BLACK AND WHITE PARTY
Would he have had this confidence if he hadnât already had two pints and half a dozen shots? Definitely not. Dressed in his three-piece suit, which was â he had previously realised and now drunkenly disregarded â a bit much, he strode towards the other, two pints of beer in his hands. âI love your outfit,â he shouted over the loud music. Holding out the beer to them, he gestured they could take it if they wanted.
Cleo was just back from her own apartment where she went to change outfit. Someone had had too many drinks too quickly and spilled some dark alcohol on her white dress, Obviously, she couldnât stay like that but now, she was back in a long black dress. She didnât expect anyone to bring her a drink, especially not someone who she didnât know but she wasnât going to turn down the offer either. âWell, I wasnât drinking beer up to this point but I guess it can not hurt,â Cleo chuckled and grabbed the pint. âThanks! I like your outfit too. Are you not a little bit too hot though?â

Cleo: It might be a little too much.
Cleo: But I take your vote for Mercedes. Thanks!

rebecca knew how confident cleo was. she always had been and she had never taken shit from anyone. the redhead realised that it wouldnât make sense to lie to the young woman. she sighed. âlook, I donât know what you want me to say. there is stuff that I canât talk about, even if I wanted to. youâre a smart kid, cleo. talk to your father about it. if I get caught up in it, I would risk losing everything. I wish I could tell you but I am simply not allowed to.â rebecca looked at the brunette apologetically, hoping, she would let it go. it was a fucked up situation and in her personal opinion, cleo had the right to know about it, but that wasnât for her to decide.Â
Rebecca might be older than Cleo, it never prevented her from telling her what she had to say. And right now, she was pissed, upset and confused, and it was only making things worse. âI talked to him, you probably know it. Iâm a big girl, I can hear anything. And if you actually knew me, you would know I wouldnât leave you with nothing,â The brunette sighed and rubbed her forehead as and attempt to stay calm. âWhen will I know then? At least tell me that. And is it going to be bad for the company or not?â

Cleo: For the Mercedes dark mat grey, with a yellow line all across the car.
Cleo: And for the Jaguar, a plain black because the inside is black and yellow.
Anastasia: Jaguar, then.
Cleo: Simple
Cleo: Alright. I'll think about it again.
Cleo: Thank you though!
