jungwon as the red string of fate
jungwon is bound by fate through a cord of connection; one that only him and his own soulmate can see when your eyes are closed.
he closes his eyes every once in a while when he’s afraid or nervous or just needs extra encouragement, just to watch the red cord tied around his pinky. he’ll tug on it or look towards the direction of the cord, wondering who you are and when he’ll reach you. on a free day, he’ll even just close his eyes and walks towards your direction, but with traffic laws and buildings and other physical things in the way, he just can’t quite reach you.
thankfully, you like tugging on your red string for comfort too. and that’s how he knows you’re still there, waiting to meet him too.
heeseung as a birth mark where they’ll touch you for the first time
heeseung is bound by fate since birth, by a mark on his skin where his soulmate is meant to hold him for the first time.
his soulmate mark is large and bright and purple across his palm and the inside of his fingers. he has a few theories at first, maybe he would high five his soulmate at a party or end up doing a thumb war with a stranger, wondering about you while tracing his mark.
you, on the other hand, don’t come from a happy home life and so the purple mark around your wrist felt restricting rather than comforting. heeseung touches you for the first time when he catches you stealing for the first time, grabbing you by the wrist to stop you from making the biggest mistake of your life.
he never holds you like that ever again, only holding you the way a soulmate should.
jay as your heart beating to the morse code of their name
jay is bound by fate from the heart, teaching himself morse code online to learn your name.
when he first learns what his heartbeat means, he does everything he can to get his heart rate up. he starts doing sports and gets into dancing all so that he can feel the beat of your name in his chest. he gets addicted, simply, to the adrenaline of you. he holds his hand to his chest a lot, or will place his fingers to the pulse in his neck or in his wrist, almost as a habit now because he just loves feeling you being there even when he hasn’t met you yet.
if your name is common, he immediately befriends anyone with your name, trying to figure out if the one he’s met is you because well, his own name is common. but if your name isn’t, jay will already have googled you and found you, because, well, he just wants to have you with him right away.
jake as communicating through writing on your bodies
jake is bound by fate through scribbles and drawings and reminders on your body and his own.
he’s not the type to write on his own body, so he doesn’t really know this is how he’s connected to you until he realizes that someone’s assigned homework is scribbled onto his wrist. the moment you both realized that this was how you were meant to communicate, you both started playing around with it first, drawing things on your own faces or even helping each other cheat on tests by scribbling on your own hands.
you haven’t met yet, but jake’s patient and quite frankly, he already loves you. in your handwritings and in your flower doodles, jake already knows he wants to love you for the rest of his life.
sunghoon as matching birthmarks
sunghoon is bound by fate since birth, by a unique mark on his wrist that only matches yours.
it’s a mark that he hides at first, afraid of fate controlling his life and leading him to someone that he doesn’t choose for himself. he wears longsleeves and watches, not wanting to look at the mark on his wrist and not wanting to allow this concept of soulmats to control his life.
when he meets you, he falls so head over heels in love with you that he doesn’t know what to do, especially when he sees your mark and doesn’t know if his matches yours. when you start falling for him in return, you get scared because you don’t know what his mark looks like, not until you two decide together to look at this wrist and see if you were destined for other people after all.
thankfully, they match, and sunghoon realizes that just because you were chosen for him, doesn’t mean that that choice was wrong.
sunoo as seeing color for the first time together
sunoo is bound by fate with the way he sees the world, black and white until the day he sees you.
despite having the brightest of personalities, sunoo doesn’t know what color looks like. all he knows is that it’s been described as this beautiful thing and experience that changes one’s perception of the world. and all he knows is that one day, when he gets to meet you, the first time he’ll see color is when he’s looking straight into your eyes.
and when you do meet, he starts crying, because the reds and blues and greens of the world are so beautiful. because the browns or greys or greens or blues of your own eyes are much beautiful than he could have ever imagined. because the world is more beautiful when you are there.
ni-ki as a timer counting down until you meet
ni-ki is bound by fate with the timer etched onto his forearm, counting down until the moment he gets to meet you for the first time.
he spends most of his life trying not to think about it, not wanting to be one of those people who try to speed up time or look around for a handsome stranger once the countdown starts nearing zero. and though ni-ki wasn’t one of those people who were beyond excited to meet your soulmate, when he wakes up with seven hours on his arm, he does his hair, skincare, and makes sure to dress well so that he can impress you.
adorably though, ni-ki spills coffee on himself just two minutes before his countdown hits zero, and with his hair disheveled and dress shirt stained, he bumps into you on his way to the washroom - and both of you fall to the ground clumsily. and at that moment, you knew you were ready to fall in love with him.
