My second artwork for @zkbigbang to accompany the fic 'Over the Edge (With You)'Â by @vannahfanfics!
Zuko turned around to see Katara standing a few feet away. Maybe it was the atmosphere, or maybe it was the fact that she was smiling at him; either way, his heart somersaulted in his chest. He’d never really thought he would consider Katara beautiful, but… that was the only word that came to mind. Not that Katara wasn’t pretty or anything; she was very attractive. He just—he didn’t expect their relationship to get to a point where he could even have those kinds of thoughts. Up until this point, he had been too busy trying not to offend her by his mere existence. Not that he could blame her.
Damn, Katara really was beautiful, his mind interjected in the middle of his silent ramble.
The moonlight filtered down from the clouds, and it seemed like the beams specifically sought out Katara. It fell into her hair, making the chestnut strands gleam. It pooled into her eyes like a god had drawn them up from the ocean and placed them there. And it washed over her skin, making her glow like a goddess come down to earth to flit upon the undeserving mortal men. And Zuko felt undeserving, guilt clawing in the depths of his belly. That’s why he immediately cast his gaze to the ground—to even look upon her for more than a few seconds felt sinful.
