[Was everyone too preoccupied with the reemergence of Cosmic Rust to notice one of their brethren gone? No, Jazz had told him that they had contact with Mirage for some time after he was kidnapped by the mutant, before he went MIA a couple of days ago. And the last bot to see him was that wretched minibot, Outback.]

[Cliffjumper never trusted him. Well, those who he trusts fully count as many as one has digits on a servo, but Outback always woke up suspicion and disdain in his chassis. That mech played by his own rules, not necessarily the ones a good Autobot soldier should possess... And so Cliffjumper was on my own. In the part of the forest where the last known location the Towersmech was.]

[He first analysed his surroundings. The bed of the forest and trees themselves for any sighs of struggle or the direction that thing might've taken Mirage. And it was very clear from the broken trunks and large claw marks, as well as scorch marks left by a dart rifle on the ground and trees around him that told a clear story. That indeed, they were both here. All of that destruction making place for the clear sky to sip into the young undergrowth.]

Bingo. [He said to himself as there was no living soul around him. As if the fauna knew the bigger predator was luring nearby.]

[He caught a trail. What was left to do was to follow it and pray to Primus that it'll lead him to Mirage. The red minibot heighten his sensor input around his horns to have a better visualisation of the quickly thickening forest. The mutant might be a big beast, but Cliffjumper knew better than to underestimate his opponent. He knew from lived experience how fast and agile it can be.]

[As the hours passed without any sighs of life, Cliffjumper started to doubt himself and the success of this self-appointed mission.]

*Am I even on the right track? Fragging Pits, maybe this is pointless... He had been missin' for days now! What was I even thinkin' to try findin' Mirage on my own when even Jazz couldn't locate him. And why am I even doing this? For what? Agh! Stupid overthinkin' processor.*

*Focus. What would Optima Prime say? Probably some slag about not giving up... The facts... The facts are that Mirage is still out there, online and in need of help. And if he's alive there's a chance. There is still hope. I cannot lose hope.*

[As on cue, his sensory horns detected movement nearby. Without really thinking about his actions, Cliffjumper launched at whatever mysterious creature was hiding behind the foliage.]

[Outback the drunk. Outback the trigger finger. Outback the loud, obnoxious bot with the weird accent. That’s all Outback has ever been known for. It used to piss him off to both of the Lunas and back, but now? Now, it pays off because nobody takes notice to him when he’s not being a fool.]

[After Outback’s final encounter with the mutant Skywarp, he decided to lay low and do the best thing Minibots have done during this war: quietly scout for information. However, it wasn’t the enemy he was spying on, it was his own faction. Outback needed to hear every word uttered about Mirage, the mutant Skywarp, and wherever the two may be. All information was crucial, for his end goal is to find and rescue his friend.]

[Outback finally discovered exactly what he needed to put the plan in full swing. With this evidence in hand, he could finally set out on what would surely be a trek: the mission to rescue Mirage.]

*Outback shoots back a sip of engex from his flask, the liquid lukewarm from the hours that have gone by. But it burns in that deep way that causes his spark to pound. Outback shakes the sensation off then tucks the roughened-up flask away, at least for now. He knows he can’t get drunk now—he shouldn’t be drinking at all—but the engex, it gives him that push he needs to be brave, to not care about anything but the end result of this mission: saving Mirage.*

It’s been slaggin’ hours out here!

*Outback groans as he stops dead in the middle of the track he’s been walking for far too many kilometres. His systems click and whir, adjusting to the dark, until he can focus in on the trees, dirt, and shrubbery around. He spots the same claw marks and prints from earlier.*

I’m goin’ the right fraggin’ way, at least..

*Just as Outback goes to continue his venture through the forest, an audial disturbance breaks the, otherwise, quiet air around him. He slowly takes the few steps back to the nearby foliage and crouches behind it—he needs to be the one with the upper hand, so he readies his blaster. But he steps on a twig and it cracks, the noise echoing through the trees. Slag.*

WHAT THE FRAG?!

*The last thing Outback was expecting is to be directly pounced on by a solid, metal weight that feels all too much Cybertronian. Then he looks up at his attacker..*

Cliffjumper.? What in the fraggin’ name of Primus are you doin’ here?!

*Outback, now at as what he can experience as ‘ease’, shoves Cliffjumper off of him with a grunt before pushing himself to his feet. He dusts off his dirt and leaf litter covered frame, all the while wearing a deep snarl.*

Fraggin’ glitch..

Outback?! The frag ya doin' here! Slag it all, I won't let a waste like ya ruin my rescue mission!

[Then Cliffjumper paused this particular thought tree. Finally stood up from where the other minibot had thrown him and dusted off his plating. But instead of taking it all calm now, Cliffjumper looked even more pissed.]

Weren't ya supposed to be with Mirage? And what? Ya wondered off to get your pipes erote from how much engex ya filter though them? Ya useless, rust-covered loose screw!

[The red bot launched himself at Outback once more, servos open to grasp at his neck cables.]

Who’re you callin’ a fraggin’ waste, huh?! That’s a lot of talk comin’ from a molten slagheap like you!

*Outback then snarls at Cliffjumper. But, before he gets the chance to respond, the red mech is launching at him and wrapping both servos around his neck.*

*Outback goes to reach for his gun—purely on instinct, his defence systems screaming to take charge—but forces his servo away, opting to grab Cliffjumper’s wrists. He attempts to pull the offending servos off of his throat, but to no avail.*

You don’t know what you’re fraggin’ talkin’ about!! You have no bloody idea what I’ve been doin’ up until this moment, yeah?!

*Outback, knowing he can’t pull Cliffjumper off of him, decides to throw both of them to the ground, the latter beneath him. He grunts at the collision, yet he does not relent.*

Where were you when Mirage first got kidnapped?! Where were you when I was tryin’ to get info from the thing that kidnapped him?! Where were you when I was beggin’ for my fraggin’ friend back, huh?! HUH?! Fraggin’ tell me, Cliffjumper!!

[That gave him a real pause. He faltered in his hold and let his digits slide off his cables. Cliffjumper was never good at hiding his emotions, be it in clamping his EM field or holding a poker face. The immense feeling of guilt folded his entire frame. I- I didn't know it was happenin'... The first time that is, and even now... I-

[But was there any good explanation the minibot could give? The only one was that he was still sceptical of Mirage even if the bot proofed them all to be a loyal Autobot, even if he was an obnoxious Tower's mech. At the end, the only thing he could to was to cheer the spy up.]

It’s been slaggin’ hours out here!

*Outback groans as he stops dead in the middle of the track he’s been walking for far too many kilometres. His systems click and whir, adjusting to the dark, until he can focus in on the trees, dirt, and shrubbery around. He spots the same claw marks and prints from earlier.*

I’m goin’ the right fraggin’ way, at least..

*Just as Outback goes to continue his venture through the forest, an audial disturbance breaks the, otherwise, quiet air around him. He slowly takes the few steps back to the nearby foliage and crouches behind it—he needs to be the one with the upper hand, so he readies his blaster. But he steps on a twig and it cracks, the noise echoing through the trees. Slag.*

WHAT THE FRAG?!

*The last thing Outback was expecting is to be directly pounced on by a solid, metal weight that feels all too much Cybertronian. Then he looks up at his attacker..*

Cliffjumper.? What in the fraggin’ name of Primus are you doin’ here?!

*Outback, now at as what he can experience as ‘ease’, shoves Cliffjumper off of him with a grunt before pushing himself to his feet. He dusts off his dirt and leaf litter covered frame, all the while wearing a deep snarl.*

Fraggin’ glitch..

[Then Cliffjumper paused this particular thought tree. Finally stood up from where the other minibot had thrown him and dusted off his plating. But instead of taking it all calm now, Cliffjumper looked even more pissed.]

Weren't ya supposed to be with Mirage? And what? Ya wondered off to get your pipes erote from how much engex ya filter though them? Ya useless, rust-covered loose screw!

[The red bot launched himself at Outback once more, servos open to grasp at his neck cables.]

Mods opinion of Skybound Cliffjumper?

[Mod: I have not read Skybound yet, but he seems to be a badass as always! I love how he's drawn in the older volumes, but that's it. I do love the panel where he flips everyone off as a choice of weaponry.

[Was everyone too preoccupied with the reemergence of Cosmic Rust to notice one of their brethren gone? No, Jazz had told him that they had contact with Mirage for some time after he was kidnapped by the mutant, before he went MIA a couple of days ago. And the last bot to see him was that wretched minibot, Outback.]

[Cliffjumper never trusted him. Well, those who he trusts fully count as many as one has digits on a servo, but Outback always woke up suspicion and disdain in his chassis. That mech played by his own rules, not necessarily the ones a good Autobot soldier should possess... And so Cliffjumper was on my own. In the part of the forest where the last known location the Towersmech was.]

[He first analysed his surroundings. The bed of the forest and trees themselves for any sighs of struggle or the direction that thing might've taken Mirage. And it was very clear from the broken trunks and large claw marks, as well as scorch marks left by a dart rifle on the ground and trees around him that told a clear story. That indeed, they were both here. All of that destruction making place for the clear sky to sip into the young undergrowth.]

Bingo. [He said to himself as there was no living soul around him. As if the fauna knew the bigger predator was luring nearby.]

[He caught a trail. What was left to do was to follow it and pray to Primus that it'll lead him to Mirage. The red minibot heighten his sensor input around his horns to have a better visualisation of the quickly thickening forest. The mutant might be a big beast, but Cliffjumper knew better than to underestimate his opponent. He knew from lived experience how fast and agile it can be.]

[As the hours passed without any sighs of life, Cliffjumper started to doubt himself and the success of this self-appointed mission.]

*Am I even on the right track? Fragging Pits, maybe this is pointless... He had been missin' for days now! What was I even thinkin' to try findin' Mirage on my own when even Jazz couldn't locate him. And why am I even doing this? For what? Agh! Stupid overthinkin' processor.*

*Focus. What would Optima Prime say? Probably some slag about not giving up... The facts... The facts are that Mirage is still out there, online and in need of help. And if he's alive there's a chance. There is still hope. I cannot lose hope.*

[As on cue, his sensory horns detected movement nearby. Without really thinking about his actions, Cliffjumper launched at whatever mysterious creature was hiding behind the foliage.]
