thinking about neil telling andrew that he would only look out for himself in a life or death situation with andrew responding “incorrect, you’re the martyr no one asked for” and neil’s internal dialogue being like “yeah right i know what i’m about” only to IMMEDIATELY go with his father’s people to save the foxes.

something something neil withstanding torture in the nest was, in his mind, reparations for unintentionally being responsible for the drake fiasco in november. my boy was drowning and sick to his stomach with blame and then comes back in the kings men guilt-free and ready to win championships— it only took two weeks of horrific physical and psychological torment for him to forgive himself for what happened to andrew. they make me ill
